I needed a quick bite to eat while waiting on my layover, and this was near the gate so I decided to grab a burger. It was kind of early, but the breakfast options didn't sound that enticing to me, so a burger at 8:30 am it was. They had a few ordering kiosks which made it easy to choose my items. I got a double Shack Burger and a side of fries. They were out of shakes, which was fine by me. I don't frequent Shake Shack that often, but I was surprised to see they had several chicken options (chicken nuggets, sandwich, etc.) as well as the breakfast items. My order was done quickly and they called my name when it was done. It was packaged pretty well in a tray and the burger was wrapped. The bag they put the orders in are sturdy! The burger was excellent - super juicy, pretty greasy, seasoned well, and hot. The lettuce and tomato were fresh, and the cheese was melty. I really loved this burger! The fries on the other hand, were pretty bad. They weren't very fresh and kind of stale. I'd skip them next time but would definitely order another burger. read more

Okay, so bottom line up front... I was pleasantly surprised with the freshness and the actual flavor of my breakfast. I'm never optimistic with eating in air ports, but today was an exceptional exception to my past experiences. The Self- Checkout kiosk was smooth, easy to understand and navigate. At first I was a bit frustrated on the wait, but once I realized they were cooking to order and not pulling from a heat drawer or from under a heat lamp, well I changed my preconceived perception. When I pulled my breakfast sandwich (Sausage-Egg-Cheese + Avocado) out of the bag it was visually appealing and showed promise. With my first bite I knew that I made a good decision for breakfast. I enjoyed it from first bite to last. I'd have gone back for seconds, but that would have been too much of a break from my diet. I was happy to see Shake Shack just down from my gate with a line that seemed manageable so I stepped up and ordered a Dbl. Shack Burger, small fries and a large fountain drink and it didn't break the bank, the service here was very good and the wait time after placing my order was only a few minutes. I personally like the charred edges of the smashed patties and I definitely love they serve crinkle fries. All the food arrived hot and freshly prepared the friendly attendant double checked my order and asked if I wanted any condiments, the straws and napkins are self-serve on the counter so grab a few extra napkins being there is no formal seating area, you'll be eating at a gate. Food was good but the service was terrible. Both people spoke with had bad attitudes. You can't hear because of all the people standing around and the girl yelling the names you couldn't understand her because apparently she can't read and messes up the names. She called out name but messed it up so bad like 7 times I didn't realize she was calling for us and I was only 10ft away. She then gave me my food with attitude like I was inconveniencing her. I began to walk away and noticed my shake was missing. Arrived in Atlanta about dinnertime. Always love a Shack burger! This was probably one of the least expensive options compared to the other restaurant menus we looked at in Concourse A. After traveling 10 hours from Germany I needed something to eat after landing in ATL. Because of the location (inside the airport) prices are ridiculous. $8 for a plain cheeseburger and $5 for average crinkled fries. Cashier definitely had an attitude issue when I asked for fresh fries with salt. She yelled to the back "she don't want those fries, she wants fresh fries" and then proceeded to roll her eyes. Location only accepts debit/credit card. Fries were hot and loaded with salt. Burger was sloppy to say the least and slid apart upon trying to eat. lol read more

First time eating at shake shack, although an airport location, I was very surprised at the quality of food. The lady at the register was quick and very nice. I tried the shack stack? Had a fried portobello stuffed with cheese on the burger. It was delicious. Several others had the avocado bacon chicken sandwich which was very fresh and crispy. Fries were warm and crispy. My eyes opened with delight when I saw Shake Shack upon my arrival back in ATL a few wks ago - you see, I'm probably one of the few who hadn't experienced a Shack Shack burger but had it bookmarked for a long time. My expectations were super high - so when I had the Shack Burger ($6.09), well it was kind of a let down. It was a decent burger, definitely handmade based on the burger shape, came with lettuce & tomato ... but I think the biggest disappointment was their Shack Sauce. There was absolutely no flavor or kick - it had the color of thousand island dressing and that was the only descriptive thing about it. Also ordered the Krinkle Fries ($3.29) which were also disappointing b/c they were probably sitting there for a while, as they were overly crunchy. I'd probably try Shack Shack again but in the restaurant, not the airport. FYI they're located on A Concourse. The staff was nice though. read more

I ate my Shack Stack burger (a hamburger, with a deep fried cheese stuffed portobello mushroom burger) and was in such awe of how delicious, fresh, warm, did I mention delicious it was, I went back for another to take home to my daughter!! This was an interesting experience because even though their customer service was AMAZING, the service was kind of scattered and it took a very very very long time for anyone to get their food. So A+ for good intentions and warm wishes and heartfelt jokes and kind words but a D for speed of service and efficiency. There were so many employees working I can only assume it was everyone's first week which would explain the cheerfulness but the lack of expertise and speed. But that burger though. I was 2 hours early for my flight and this was located right next to my gate so I grabbed a hamburger. The employees were working hard and moderately attentive but some of them had really bad attitudes. I waited about 15-20 minutes for a $6 single patty hamburger with lettuce, pickles, mayo, and tomato. The best thing about this burger is it was piping hot fresh from the grill. If it wasn't I don't think I would have enjoyed it enough for even 2 stars. Very disappointing experience. The overpriced stingy fried chicken sandwich was about the size of a slider compared to a real sandwich. On top of that it was bland. They really need the spicy chicken on the regular menu, at least for customers that would like some kind of flavor. While the servers are polite with a good attitude about how to communicate with customers, my "fast food" order took almost 30 minutes to deliver. They had no idea how to operate a kitchen and worked at a snail's pace. If you need to catch a flight forget about this place, and if you have more time, definitely go to one of the airport sit-down restaurants with so much better product and value for the money. Other complaints are the crappy narrow straws which make drinking the mediocre shakes an annoying task. Better to cut the shake and save the calories. Also, this chain should use paper straws to be environmentally conscious. Instead, I can carry the guilt of contributing to polluting the world with more plastic trash as a consequence of a crappy meal. read more

One of the few branded airport restaurants that's actually as good as the real thing. Not operated by a company licensing the brand (ie FM Host). Had two single Shack burgers. Made to order so it took a few minutes but worth the wait. Toasted, soft buns, good beef cooked medium, oozy American cheese, leaf lettuce, Roma tomatoes and Shack Sauce, which I think is ketchup and mayo. Really good, just loses a star for nowhere to sit (grabbed a seat at an empty gate). Oh, and fun, friendly staff was a plus. read more
