This is a small, clean, locally owned place. We ordered at the counter and the food was brought to us by a friendly staff member. Hubby ordered the 4 piece chicken strips and I tried the Monday special which was a bacon cheeseburger. I thought I should go with a turkey burger since that seemed to be what they are known for. It was probably the first turkey burger I have ever ordered and I'd have to say that it was good. The flavor was there, it was moist and it was a good portion size. There's a different texture to turkey than beef, but in my opinion, it didn't detract it from being a good burger. I went with sweet potato fries based on the suggestion of the young lady taking my order, and I'm glad I did. They were very good. I tried Mike's for the first time today. I had a 1/3 pound burger, cooked medium, on grilled Texas toast. I added fries and a drink for a combo. The burger came out perfectly, with glistening juice on the sides. The fries were the coated kind, and they were good. Mike's has a toppings bar and various condiments, including brown mustard. The Texas toast was buttered and grilled. The buttery crunch of the toast complimented the juicy burger. The wife has a couple of hot dogs. They were split and grilled. The dogs were served in buttered, toasted buns. Mike's has fountain drinks along with lemon juice packs (for tea mainly, but I put lemon in soda). Great food and great condiments make Mike's a must for a great burger. The place was packed with locals. I will return and try the onion rings. They had the smooth batter I like on rings. This was so goooooooood! My boyfriend and I went here to grab a quick bite before our movie down the street. There was a daily special (bacon cheeseburger, fries, and a drink), so I got that. The server was really friendly, and the cups were large and you can fill it yourself. You only get ONE free refill (they have a large sign that says that lol), and when I got up to get my ONE refill the lady was watching me. Kind of weird. But, some people really do abuse the free refills thing, so I understand why they have that rule. The burgers came out after about 10-15 minutes, and it was DELICIOUS!!! Decided to stop at this restaurant since they had such great reviews. Getting the food took almost 30 minutes for three entrées and we were very shocked when we looked at what we had. We didn't end up eating our food because our food was horrendous. We got veggie burgers unaware that the veggie burger would be broccoli and squash and so it was basically in the consistency of a spinach dip. It was one of the worst food items I have ever eaten in my entire existence. The fries are seasonless and they don't give you that many. I tried calling them after we left, asking what the veggie burger was made of and the person who I spoke with had to ask the cook what it was made of and The cook told the girl I that it was veggies which she then came back to me you on the phone to tell me that the veggie burger was made out of veggies. My response was obviously , lol but can you tell me what the veggies are made of??? She said no ,I can just tell you that it's made out of vegetables. I'm like what? Soo, I told her that doesn't make any sense and so she put me on hold and came back with what the veggie burger was made of. I asked why the veggie burgers do not come firm and she said she didn't know why they come like that. I said I wanted to get a managers email so I can email them my experience. She put me on hold again and came back to ask me what the issue was I told her "about the food" & she said OK hold on AGAIN. she then came back and asked me to tell her what the issue was when I JUST told her that I would rather talk to the manager directly because I just wanted to make sure the manager was informed from me the customer. She proceeds to tell me to hold on again I wait for the last time and out of nowhere the phone was hung up on me? So they ended up hanging up on me, I did not get the managers email. I believe the managers name is Tim, but they didn't give me any more information they didn't tell me a good time to call back, or anything. It was such a huge waste of money even though they are pretty cheap. Forewarning their veggie burgers are absolute disgustingness! I have been to Mikie's twice in the past week. The first time I got the Friday special with a Turkey burger and it was a 10/10 everything was on ping even the fries. Updated for service 8/1/17 This is my 3rd time coming to Mikie's and I'm sad to say the customer service was one star. The lady working the cash register made a mistake and instead of owning up to it she tried to blame me for it. Service like this could impact my decision to come back or recommend anyone else like I had been doing. The person in charge was of no help. If you are using either the Groupon or Local Flavor certificates don't let them see it until you are done ordering because they look at your phone and redeem the certificate for a lesser value. When she brought our food she proceeded to ask us if we still wanted it for here. What the hell kind of question is that? If I didn't tell you I want it to go instead of dine in don't be flip with me ask dumb questions. She really ruined my view of this restaurant. The 1lb Super Combo is the real deal! Burgers come with full toppings which is fine but, depending on how soon they add your vegetables will determine if they get soggy, which mine were. I don't care for soggy bread either. Maybe a better bun would improve the experience. The burger itself was very lightly seasoned. On another note, the service was fine. The young lady taking our order seemed really friendly with the regular customers and the owner seemed to be a really nice guy. The restaurant was very clean. If I do return, I'll try something else. This place had such delicious burgers! We can't believe how good everything was. My daughter kept saying over and over how good her burger was. My little boys chicken nuggets were a little tough, but the sweet honey mustard made up for it. My chicken Philly was delicious. Everything was obviously made to order. My only concern was the customer service. The young man working the register was obviously trained to work the register, but not necessarily in the art of service. He did not greet customers, was chewing gum, and didn't say thank you, have a nice day, or enjoy your meal. I watched him the whole time I was there, although he wasn't rude in a Chick-fil-A world, small businesses can't always afford subpar customer service...no matter how good their food is. Worst burger I've ever eaten. Shaped like a meatball and just a bad flavor. Picked this place when I saw scalloped potatoes available as a side. What I was served were apparently unpeeled mashed potatoes (that were somehow ooozing grease) covered with cheese. Didn't remotely resemble scalloped potatoes. Could only handle about 2 bites of each. Left such a horrid taste and greasy feeling in my mouth that I had to go to the closest store and get some gum to try rid my palate of the food.
