From the door to back out the door was a great experience! We were welcomed in and it felt extremely genuine. Our cashier who took the order was extremely thoughtful and helpful. She explained and asked questions! Let's not talk about the best SWEET TEA! If you don't like it that sweet you can add water or ice! The place was clean clean!!!Everything stocked and the food was as expected! Run and stopped in and dine with the crew! Mostly everyone was engaging and friendly. It felt less like a dine in cookout restaurant and more like a well serviced middle of the road dinning experience!

Stumbled upon this restaurant and glad I did. I walked into the restaurant & met with warm welcomes. I got suggestions on my sides from the cashier, Tee; very friendly. The restaurant is nice & clean and staff is nice. Enjoyed the dining in experience & access to togo containers was very easy. I got the 2 meats/2 sides sampler: Ribs (upcharge): 8/10 good AF, but did get some small ones Texas toast: 8/10 paired good with the sausage, to me Sausage: 10/10 had a slight kick, but definitely good Mac: 8/10 best way to describe was chick fil a, but a bit better Collards: 2/10 lacked flavor & seasoning Tea: 9/10 Lemonade: 6/10 bitter Favorite Sauce: Swine Wine & Sweet City -Outside seating area -Not too big, but not too small -Drive thru available I will definitely be returning.

Nothing to see here folks! Sorry, Team City Barbecue but I wasn't impressed with my experience. The customer service and carry out container were the highlights of my visit. I have to admit that I did go in at about 6 o'clock on Sunday, so maybe because of this they were out of a lot of things. Firstly, they were out of vinegar coleslaw, they were out of smoked turkey, they were out of something else I wasn't going to get it anyway, but I don't recall what it was. I initially went there for the smoked turkey, and ended up getting a combo meal with brisket and smoked sausage. Both were basic, in fact, the smoked sausage was a brand that I bought from Sam's. Nothing special whatsoever about it. The baked beans were blah, and the green beans had some strange seasoning in it that I could not put my finger on, but I ended up not eating either of the sides. My Texas toast was dark and overcooked. So literally I just ended up eating the meat again. The only reason I am giving three stars is because of the customer service, the takeout containers & sweet tea.

I was in the Atlanta-Metro area for Mothers' Day weekend. We were hungry and my niece suggested City BBQ for lunch. I didn't really know what to expect since I'd never been here or heard of it. We placed the Party Pack order that feeds 8-10 people online for pick up and it took about 30 minutes to prepare. It's a 5-7 minute drive so I got there a little early. The interior was high energy to say the least. You can see the staff on the line moving like a well-oiled machine. Every employee was busy doing something. I was asked by 4 different staff members if I had been helped. All of them asked my name, checked on my order and came back to let me know that they were working on it and I should have it shortly. While I waited, I noticed that the dining area was packed along with the patio. A couple people came in with minor complaints and the lady that helped them was very professional and patient. Now it's my turn and the gentleman packing my order gives me a nod to let me know that it's ready. With everything I just witnessed during my wait and the smell inside, I was now excited for this. Upon taking the items out of the bag, I noticed an item was missing. Ok....since it wasn't that far I said to myself that I'll just drive up there with the receipt and let them know. Instead, I called first and a gentleman by the name of Cory (not sure of his spelling) answered the phone. I let him know that I was missing an item from the order. He in a very polite and helpful way let me know that when I have time to come back to the store for that item. He also said that when I arrive, to let whoever I speak to know that I talked to Cory regarding that item. I drove back to the restaurant, got the item, and left. While I was there, the gentleman I spoke with was very apologetic and polite. I'm not sure what I was expecting but I tell you what, it wasn't anything I mentioned above. Coming from Los Angeles, this type of service doesn't exist. Every person I encountered couldn't have been more of a pleasure to deal with. Southern hospitality is a real thing, and you will witness it firsthand at this City BBQ location. I was so hungry I forgot to take pictures of the food and the restaurant. I'll be back for sure, and I'll do better. Lol. Good Job City Barbeque in McDonough. The food was as good as the service.

Center Cut ribs PERFECTLY cooked, smoke ring, flavor n Quality. I also tried the smoked WINGS a bit SALTY.

I was so excited to visit this place. It's been on my list to go for awhile. Unfortunately, it wasn't what I expected. The fries were the only thing good, to me. The cornbread was dry, the greens bland, and the patrami was so thick and fatty. The staff very nice, and friendly. The atmosphere was nice too. It was empty, surprisingly for a Friday. I see why.

Lima beans made with pig tail bones and flavorful but perhaps too salty. Baked mac & cheese was great/cheesy, but I'm a creamier/not baked fan. The food was fresh and great quality. The service was exceptional and they really took care of us. They have many different options to choose from and the boxed meals and super simple and easy to serve to large groups. I will for sure be using cowboy chicken again and recommend other companies looking to cater large groups to use them! Welcome back to the table…read more I find that most people dismiss rotisserie chicken as "basic," but finding one that is actually seasoned through to the bone is harder than it should be. I stopped by the Cowboy Chicken in McDonough looking for something reliable, and it delivered that specific, wood-fired comfort that's hard to replicate at home. The vibe is laid-back and rustic exactly what you'd expect from a spot centered around an open flame. The Spread We didn't hold back on the order, covering everything from the signature rotisserie to the brisket and bowls. The Signature Chicken: They use a dry rub and slow-roast the meat over real wood. The result is a juicy, tender interior with skin that carries a slight, salty crispness. What stood out most was the flavor penetration; the seasoning wasn't just sitting on the surface. Unlike many rotisserie spots where the center feels neglected or underdone, this was consistent throughout. It holds its own without needing sauce. The Sides: The Spanish Rice surprised me. Fluffy, well-seasoned, shelly in texture, and the addition of corn gave it a nice sweetness. The Mac and Cheese was a bit of a curveball; it's more on the liquid, saucy side, but the flavor builds on you the more you eat. The fries were perfect and held a solid crisp even after sitting for a bit. We ended up getting a second basket of Fries because the crunch held up beautifully, even as they cooled down. The Coleslaw will be a hit or miss for some, we had mixed reviews. The shredded cabbage was thicker than normal but the other half of the table it was perfect. Tinga Bowl ($14.00): If you want something that feels a bit lighter but still packs a punch, this is it. The shredded chicken has a balanced kick, paired with corn relish, black beans, and a sprinkle of "Cowboy Dust" for heat. It's refreshing but filling. Layered with rice, beans, corn relish, avocado, crema it all balances out. Not heavy, but still satisfying. Brisket Sandwich (13.75: The bread was lightly toasted, cradling pulled brisket that was smoky and not juicy because we needed sauce for it but the flavor was there. Crispy Tenders ($13.25): These were a table favorite. They nailed the external crunch without sacrificing the moisture of the chicken inside.Crunch on the outside, seasoned all the way through, and still tender inside. The Sweet Finish I'm officially a fan of their Texas Peach Cobbler. It leans more cake-like than soupy, which I prefer. It tasted fresh, warm and held its structure, making it a solid closer for a heavy meal. Service & Value The moment we walked in, the staff offered a genuine verbal welcome. The service was efficient, and the restaurant maintained a clean, organized look despite the steady flow of customers. At roughly $14-$15 for a plate with two sides and a roll, the portion size makes the pricing very reasonable for the quality you're getting. Table Approved This is the spot for a high-quality, fuss-free family dinner or a solo lunch when you're craving real wood-fired flavor without the fast food aftertaste. It's dependable, flavorful, and worth a visit for the chicken alone. Follow along where food meets adventure - Shallonz Table.
