Combo over Rice (Lamb (Contains Beef) & Chicken)
Alex F.

They're open super late which is awesome for a late night snack/meal. Got home late after a football game and was really hungry so ordered with a friend. They have online ordering which is super quick and easy and the food was ready sooner than expected and they sent a message to let me know. The food was pretty good too the only issue was that they didn't label the two platters at all. My friend and I ordered the same platters but with different sauces and there was no indication of which was which and they looked pretty identical.

I ordered the combo over rice (lamb and chicken) with white sauce, and it was pretty delicious. This combo exceeded my expectations! It was fun to eat and very filling too. The fries were fresh and a great accompaniment! I can see why there are so many good reviews... my food was bomb! I look forward to trying out different menu items next time. Thankis Shahs Halah

I ordered two gyros without onion. Then also ordered falafels and I did not get any falafels and everything had red onion in it. . I did this on door dash which is not the dashers fault. This restaurant ruined all my order and food

I thought this spot was quite good and satisfying! There aren't a ton of halal places in Pittsburgh, so it's great to have a spot like this. I know this place is technically a chain, but it's not a huge one, and I still was craving some halal food. I've heard great things about the food. I decided to try their signature chicken over rice with the white sauce, as well as BBQ and hot sauce on the side. This meal was absolutely delicious. The portion was quite good, and the price was reasonable as well. The chicken itself was tender and flavorful. It wasn't too spicy, which I also appreciated. There are options to get a ton of vegetables, but I decided to stick with the classic chicken and rice. The rice itself was well cooked, too. I truly loved their white sauce, which was a little creamy. The BBQ and hot sauce were kind of ordinary and not the best. All in all, I really enjoyed this spot. The meat was tasty, the rice was well made, and the sauces were great. It's awesome to have a halal spot near the area.

They're opened really late which is nice, it's very straightforward as far as the taste, I just wished the white sauce was more dill and cucumber tasting. The pita was also very good.

nice spot for a quick dinner, i love the white sauce and their chicken is so good and it's filling!

Cheap, tasty and good service. I picked up a lamb platter, a combo platter and french fries. Yummy!! They didn't cost more than $23. The staff were nice and generous with the sauces. I just wish they had both white rice for a change and not just brown. But their brown rice is still good. They also let you pick whatever veggies you want (see pictures). Issues: Their falafel is not good to be honest. The service changes sometimes depending on the people and that is why I'm giving four. Parking: It's hard to park in that area. I might go back again because it's cheap and the people are nice.

Best food in Oakland. Had the combo chicken and lamb with rice. The white sauce and green sauce is so good. Get the hot sauce.

This is suppose to be lamb over rice with salad. Look how big the cucumber and tomatoes are cut. It didn't taste fresh in addition to this.

The quality of food at this place has plummeted. Their food truck is fresher than the actual brick and motar restaurant.

Chicken gyro?? No...
Jessie S.

I don't understand why this place has good ratings on help. To call what I ordered a 'gyro', albeit I realize what I ordered was a chicken gyro, is a joke. It was a chicken shawarma at best, and not a good one at that. I've had lots of shawarmas from different places including Lebanese, Turkish, Syrian, Iranian, Israeli, and I don't know what that was they served me... 'Gyros' don't have cumin in the marinade, and should come with tzatziki, not whatever is in that packet labeled 'White Sauce'. The default options for toppings were lettuce and 'salad', which would be okay, but all I got was bright red, overcooked and spicy (?) chicken, dry white meat, with no veg whatsoever beyond the onion cooked with the chicken. Not a gyro, not a shawarma, just a big disappointment

Chicken and rice with white sauce

Great drunk food because they are open late but in the light of day, they are just okay. I have had mixed experiences here- some are really fast and great and others I felt like the staff was rude and unprepared. Either way, it is relatively cheap and the chicken and rice can last me two meals.

Left me not needing much food for the rest of the day! The falafels were very dense and yummy. The bowl had a bit of salad, hummus, and some chick peas mixed in. The food got here 45 minutes before it was supposed too, which was a little inconvenient but better than 45 minutes late. The space is tiny and unassuming, and the restaurant seems to be a family run operation. The interior is much more nicely kept than you might guess based on the outside of the building. The staff were very friendly, and all of our food was well packaged. I strongly suggest taking a look at the "Persian Cuisine" section of the menu; in many cases, that section is more interesting than the Turkish grill. In terms of food, things ranged from excellent to pretty good. The hummus was good and nicely textured, but not exceptional. The kashke ve bademjan was excellent, particularly when paired with the nicely toasted flatbread it arrived with. The Mediterranean salad and Tabouli salad were both nicely done, with a nice level of lemon acidity and some shredded cheese on the side. The veggie kebap was fine, but generally flat in flavor: it really needed some of the sides and some hot sauce to fill things out. The red lentil soup was simple with a subtle spicing but ultimately deeply flavorful. The ash reshteh (noodle soup with beans and spinach) was generally good but would have benefited from toppings that would have probably been provided in a dine-in environment. All told, this was a nice little establishment with some excellent Mediterranean and Persian style cuisine. They seem to churn out some high quality food from what seems like a very small kitchen. I could imagine eating in or ordering takeout, but note that the interior space is fairly small with a limited capacity.

This restaurant is located right on E Carson St in the South side. Whenever we entered the restaurant at shortly before noon, we were the only patrons there. As you would expect then we were promptly greeted and given our choice of tables. The inside of this restaurant had a number of tables, murals on the exposed brick wall, a bar and then a display case for some of their baked goods. For lunch on this day I decided to go with the moussaka while my wife went with the falafel sandwich. Since I had ordered an entree, I got a salad while my wife did not and that came out first. It consisted of some heavily dressed lettuce and then a couple of slices of both tomatoes and cucumbers. The dressing had a slight mint flavor which I enjoyed and was refreshing on the salad. I also enjoyed how heavily dressed it was but can imagine others who would not. Once I had finished with the salad the rest of our food came out. My moussaka ended up being decent and I really enjoyed the bechamel on the top. Then while I liked both the meat and eggplant, I wish that there had been a bit of a thicker layer of each as most of the moussaka ended up being bechamel and potato. My wife enjoyed her falafel pita with her favorite part being the crunchy falafel. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. It has been a long time since I have had moussaka and so it definitely hit the spot for me and I would be interested in trying more of their food in the future.
