Updating my review to say I still love this cafe and particularly this location. They have hard shell chocolate fruit pastries from Emmy's cafe on selected days (Friday when I went) for $12.99 and while it is on the higher end for a pastry it tasted as expected. The staff is very friendly and helpful, I went and bought a good amount of these pastries and they gave me frozen ones to eat within a few days as requested and thawed ones for immediate consumption. & it looks like they have updated their menu with new drinks as of September 2025.
Shaghf Cafe: I see the vision, but unfortunately, I think execution could be a lot better! Shaghf Cafe has been on my list for a long time, so I was super excited to stop by. I came in one day because I was in the neighborhood and saw on social media that they started selling the cakes that look like fruits from Emmy French Corner. Upon arriving, I was confused at first because the place looked closed for it being around lunch time. It was unusually dark inside, but I saw a few people sitting in the back, so I walked in. Someone in the back got up from where they were sitting, welcomed me, and walked behind the counter. The place is QUIET. You can hear everything. There is faint music playing in the back, but it is inaudible if youre more than 10ft from the source. It makes the place feel unwelcoming. There were only laminated, handheld menus that had no descriptions of what the specialty coffees were. I had to keep asking the server questions about the drinks (e.g. what flavor is a movie or habibi latte). The staff member was kind and answered all my questions. When I asked for drink recommendations, he didn't speak highly of any of the specialty lattes and stated his personal preference for plain coffee, which wasn't helpful. I ended up ordering a Spanish latte, light on the condensed milk, and two of the Emmy cakes, mango and strawberry. The pastry display is small, has no labels for items, and has no lights to properly feature the items. After ordering, I wanted to sit down while I waited but the cute, white boucle chairs were very dirty looking and tinged gray/black, so I decided to stand. My order came out within 5 minutes and the staff packaged it well. He even warned me to be careful as the cakes might slide a little in transport, which I appreciated. My Spanish Latte tasted was just plain milk and espresso. From what I could taste of the coffee, it had good flavor. The ratio of milk to coffee needs some work. The cakes were yummy but quite pricey! I preferred the mango to the strawberry one. Both my cakes were still icy in the middle even though I ate them 2-3 hrs after, so they were definitely pretty frozen when I ordered it. Overall, I wasn't impressed. Coffee was okay and I wouldn't order it again. Cakes were good, but they don't make it in-house either. And the ambience, as is, isn't for me but I see so much potential for it!
All the hype doesnt meet expectations. Pricey for a smallish space with overpriced drinks. Leftover pastries. Boxes of deliveries visible clutter. Clean up needed for better presentation
Plenty of parking on the backside. We went for an iced coffee and was taken well care of the staff. We went for the recommended habidi coffee. The place had interiorly vibe as a lounge amd a good ambiance. The cool thing is that they make your coffee fresh and then put in a can that you open the traditional way. The coffee was good and I'll recommend checking it out
The coconut matcha was so delicious I wanted to go back the next day and get another! Unlike any other matcha I've tasted...a rich, creamy, coconut flavor that isn't overpowered by coconut. So good! I can't wait to go back and try some other drinks.
Neat spot. I stopped by and ordered a mango frappe + mango ice cream dessert. I wanted a chai, but unfortunately they were out. The mango frappe was a good replacement though--it tasted similar to the one at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf which is one of my favorites. The mango dessert was also really good--I loved the hard shell. The only thing was that this totaled to $22 which is honestly a highway scam lol. I didn't love the interior. Though it was clean and spacious, it was so white that it felt sterile. However, that's just personal preference--it's just not a cozy cafe vibe. The guy working there was really nice. However, it did take 15 minutes for everything to come out. Overall, tasty food but not worth it for the price.
I've had Shaghf Cafe on my list for a bit and finally had the chance to check it out this afternoon. The interior is spacious with white walls, accented by neon white lights in the shape of arches. There are a few plants scattered throughout, adding a nice contrast. The seating is spread out comfortably, so there's plenty of space. HOT PISTACHIO LATTE - 7.50 I got it with two shots of espresso + whole milk; they offer milk alternatives like oat and almond as well. The drink is on the smaller side, maybe 8 oz, and if you order it "for here", it comes in a nice ceramic cup. The latte had a good amount of pistachio bits, and the syrup used had a honey-like, viscous texture. I'm not sure if it was meant to be fully mixed in, but there was still some pistachio and syrup left at the bottom of the cup by the end. The drink was good, but I'm not sure if the price justifies it All in all, Shaghf is a nice spot to spend a couple hours. Unfortunately, my friend and I had trouble connecting to the wifi, so we had to use our hotspot instead.
This popular coffee shop from Dubai just recently opened a location in Virginia. I got their Iced Spanish Latte which was amazing! The coffee flavor was great and the sweetness from the condensed milk reminded me of Vietnamese coffee. The Shagf Tart was a perfect pastry to pair with my coffee as I sat in their super aesthetic cafe. The staff was also really nice as they saw me looking through the menu and gave me some recommendations and answered my questions. Stumbled upon Shaghf Cafe by accident when looking for a coffee shop in the area. I have a visited a total of two times. They are in a weird location so I doubt they get a lot of foot traffic. The decor is not bad but the visible boxes and mess at the end of the space were distracting. First time I went there, I had a hot coconut latte and pistachio cake. While I liked the hot drink mug, it was too small for the price point. The latte itself tasted pretty good. The pistachio cake was alright, nothing to write home about. Once it got unbearably hot outside, I made sure to go for a second time and try the dates latte as I was told it tastes better iced. I asked for the latte to be less sweet and it was still ridiculously sweet. It was so bad that I had to throw half of it away and I actually love sweets. Overall, not a coffee shop I would care to go back to. Important to note that both times I went, the employees were super friendly and welcoming.
Good coffee with interesting middle-eastern flavors; dates, pistachio and more. Sensorial experience is non existent; no music, all you hear is their fridge humming. Service is not great, the young lady at the counter is in a hurry to go back sit down at her laptop, and it shows in her short dry tone and dirty tables. Don't think I'll come back.
Shagf Cafe is this beautifully decorated cafe tucked into a small shopping center by CVS! The interior is so beautiful and the staff are super nice. There's so much pretty seating here too! My friend and I went here to grab some coffees, as it was recommended by another friend. She ordered the iced biscoff latte and I ordered the iced movie theater latte. Overall the biscoff was good for the cookie butter itself, but the movie theater latte was best in overall flavor and presentation. It was slightly sweet with savory, and it mixed well. I'll definitely come back to try other flavors!
Coffee Shop No. 467 Shaghf Cafe Falls Church, VA February 13, 2025 I was having lunch with my husband and the best dessert for any meal is always a cortado; so I used Google to find a close cafe and Shagf Cafe popped up. The barista was very friendly and helpful. I don't normally order anything other than cortados, but there were these small ball shaped desserts that caught my attention. The barista called them Cinnamon Kinderbites. The outside of the dessert is dough and it is bland; not much flavor. However, that's probably a good things because the magic is in the melted chocolate in the center of the dessert. The chocolate is creamy and rich. I wasn't a fan of the first bite, but after the second one I definitely became a fan. The presentation of the Cinnamon Kinderbites was very attractive. I really liked the simple clay platter they arrived on. The cortado was well made. Enjoying life one cortado at time!
It was so cute inside! The chairs looked like marshmallows and the vibes were so chic. The server at the counter was so sweet and answered all our questions. We got a date latter and two Spanish lattes. They were amazing and I'm excited to come back and try more flavors!
I went to their new location, it was soo spacious and clean. The seats were very comfy, it honestly makes a great spot to be productive. I tried their date latte. It was soooo good!!! I kept wondering what syrup they use because I would love to recreate it at home. It is veryyy sweet though so it's more of a treat in my opinion. I want to try more things from their menu. This Shagf Cafe location is a good coffee shop experience. The coffee and food is an upgraded and fancier experience from your traditional coffee shop. The Fairfax, VA location has self-service kiosks and is an updated lounging experience, however, this location in Falls Church has better parking and seemingly more customer engagement. The lounge area is comfortable and although the white decor on the interior feels sterile, it is ideal for absorbing the natural light that this shop receives. It doesn't necessarily have the coffee shop feel or decor, however, it is comfortable. Definitely a more private feel that your general coffee shop. The customer service is good. The coffee and food flavors are African and Dubai inspired and unique. Overall, a good experience. read more

I'm at mosaic frequently and had no idea this area even existed. Thankfully, this place made my friend's and my list for coffee. This place is nicely decorated and has large windows and ample seating. You don't get the cozy coffee shop feel but you sure can have privacy. The bakery case is amazing and had so many treats to pick from. Psst, there are screens/kiosks to place your order so do that - I didn't because I didn't notice it and the staff was busy at the time. Oops. Anyway, I decided to go with the Biscoff croffle and I'm glad I did. The Biscoff flavor is elite, as we all know, and the waffle was warm and chewy. The ice cream was melty and not overly so. So delicious and I'd get it again. The cortado was tasty and was perfect to pair with the croffle. Definitely worth a stop. read more

The coffee was delicious! I enjoyed drinking it out of the can they had available. The ladies at the register were kind and answered any questions we had. The service was amazing and we got our coffee quick. The place was nice and quiet, no music for those who want a nice place to study. I got a tiramisu latte, which I enjoyed! I tried out the pistachio latte as well and might even prefer that more. It is a little pricey considering the size of the can ($7) but delicious nonetheless. read more

Came here seeing how nice the spot looked with the drinks. Asked the staff about recs and how each drink was like and they were super friendly. I really liked my red velvet latte as it was not too sweet and tasty. The Habibi latte was too sweet in my opinion. The lattes were $6-7.50 which are kind of pricey for the amount but I liked the options they had for how you can have your drink (can, regular plastic cup, bag) with the store's branding. The drinks are aesthetic as well as the interior; can see people chilling in this place for hours with comfy seats. Would recommend trying this place out if you're willing to spend on these pretty drinks! May try their dessert next time. read more
Went here yesterday afternoon w/my sister. The intersection this place is located on right behind Jerusalem restaurant and across the street from Halalco is busy, and there's ample parking if you get there before peak time. I heard mixed reviews and was hesitant about coming here, but I'm glad I gave it a try. There was both a very nice girl and a very smiley guy behind the counter who greeted us and let us know that we could ask them any questions. The place is spacious, clean, and aesthetic - I love the plush seating, backlit walls, and table decor. We asked them about non-dairy alternative milks, which they carried. I got a Date Latte (iced, in a can), and my sister got the Habibi latte (iced, in pouch) in the which I was also considering. I love that they give you multiple container options (if you want it in a cup - in store or to go plastic cup, juice style pouch, or soda can). We also got the Shagf tart to share, which was so comforting - I couldn't tell if it was chocolate or date on the butter crust with a caramel drizzle, but it was delicious. Next time I'll def get the Habibi latte, bc the date latte was yummy but not as sweet to my liking, but I enjoyed that it had the strong coffee taste and yummy date syrup. It was $25 before I gave tip, which is pricey for two drinks and a slice of tart, otherwise everything was great. I would return! read more
Ample parking, cute and modern cafe. I am a huge fan of Shotted which has a similar menu. They both stay opened pretty late which I love, just wish these were closer to me. The menu is a decent size, not very much details as to what is in it and i wish they had descriptions especially for someone who hasn't been there. I got there around 1230pm and the cafe was not busy thank goodness cause I have seen their Instagram where that whole spot is packed. Considering it was not busy the service was still extremely slow. I ordered the mango matcha, ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. no fake flavor of mango which I am obsessed with. 5/5. I also got the corn flake latte and pistachio milk cake. 0/1 both of those were fails. The cake itself had little to no pistachio flavor, it was very artificial tasting i couldn't even finish the cake. The corn flakes latte just tasted like a basic latter with corn flakes thrown on top that ended up getting mushy... i may have to come back to give it another shot, but I was super disappointed as I drove 27 minutes to get there...the staff was friendly just slow. read more

Cozy vibes and great coffee at Shagf Cafe! The atmosphere is relaxed and perfect for a quiet working place or a productive work session. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the menu offers a nice variety of specialty drinks and deserts. Sweets Highly recommend! read more

Was so excited to try this new coffee shop! Yelp hours said they open at 9:30am on Thursdays, got there and they were closed, Google hours said 10am, so I came back at 10:06 and they were still closed. Went back to my car to leave and saw the employees arrive at 10:10 to open the store. Was pretty annoyed, but still wanted some coffee. Got the habibi latte and it was absolutely delicious. The customer service was good, and the decor inside is nice. My advice would be to open on time for us early birds and to update the yelp hours. Beyond that- the drinks here are wonderful. read more

Sooooo goood. Highly recommend the pistachio drink. The brownie was good but not as special as the drinks. The ambiance is so cute. Staffs are so friendly and make your drinks with care. Would definitely come back. 10/10! read more

interior is beautiful- cozy and modern. however the coffee itself was pretty disappointing. despite the focus on lattes on the menu+expensive pricing, the taste of espresso was very faint. i think they're pulling a long shot, perhaps changing to double shot might help with this issue. + pls add a bag hook for the women's bathroom! read more

The food was amazing I got a croffle and a shaghf tart ; however, we had to wait for 30 minutes to get the shaghf tart because it was out of stock later in the day but well worth the wait. They said to call in advance if you want something in particular and making a long drive out. The flavors are warm and cozy and the restaurant is pretty chill and not overcrowded. The drinks didn't feel like anything incredibly special but were okay nonetheless. If you want the stone mug, that is used for hot drinks not cold drinks! read more
