Not open on Sundays despite what it says on here. Went once a while ago and it was decent.

Not open when online hours say they are. Sunday at 1 pm. Even have open sign up but locked doors.

They don't seem to plan out their reservations very well. The other person I was with had to wait while I got my pedicure done for hers to get started. Decided on Saturday that I wanted to treat myself to a mani & pedi. So I went over to Shades which is very close to me. I've been there before but it has been awhile. They put me with Jessica and I showed her a picture that I was inspired by on instagram for my nails. Ended up doing dip powder, which I've never had before. She matched the colors perfectly and did a great job, she was very gentle and precise, also did a really nice job on my toes as well. Very happy with the way they turned out. I can't say enough about this place! My mom And I went in for a gel mani and pedi on Jan 14th. The pictures attached are 2 full weeks AFTER getting them done. They still look great! I haven't had any issues with chipping or pealing. The staff got us in quickly and even served us a complimentary glass of wine. 9/17 we called for an appt . They set us up with two pedicures. When we arrived they sat us down . 15min late I started my pedicure. 30min late my mom got her's started. Zero stars, I have been here twice and twice left disappointed. Yes I was a walk-in for a gel manicure however I could have waited a few instead they rushed me in with a nail tech who had an appointment in 10 mins and I had to ask step by step if he was going to shape, clean up dead skin, warm water and the painting had bubbles in almost every other nail I was literally in his seat for 10 mins as he yelled to his appointment "he would hurry with me" Then after I asked kindly if I could have the skin removed and touched up and didn't want to disturb his appointment the woman they gave me was so rude that as I was explaining what I needed touched up she told me to shhhhh and waved her hand at me... I continued to be polite advising her she was rude and I still have nail polish on my skin and dead skin all together for $35 and 2 rude nail techs in 20 mins!! read more

I would never recommend this place! I tried it for the first (and last) time and was extremely disappointed. I had the dipping done on my nails and most of the nails (within a week) started to break and the dipping peeled off my nails making it hurt! I went back twice to have a few nails redone. Well, it happened again after that. Dipping should last AT LEAST 3 weeks if not 4. After the second time that I went back, the guy put a shine on my very dull nails. It all peeled off. WTH? I think the products they use are either very old or very cheap. Do NOT waste your money going there! Now I have to have my nails redone for Christmas! read more

In decades of getting my nails done I have never asked for a refund- even for gel that may have prematurely chipped. I went in requesting a dip ombré that I had a photo of. I was told this would be fine and to proceed with my pedicure for the time being. At the end of my pedicure the lady I initially spoke with asked for my phone to take into the back room to find what colors to use. It was almost as though this was a complex special request? They showed me a mock nail that was not how the picture I showed them was. The man informed me their new airbrush was the way to go for a true ombré effect. They could not do a gradual effect so he mixed white and pink....the woman who did the actual dip application didn't spend much time on shaping and did a single top coat. As of 8 am the next morning the airbrush was peeling/chipping, the initial airbrush color was pretty obviously inconsistent some nails being pink, some white, some misshapen. I left yesterday peacefully as it had already taken them 2 hours for a pedicure and dip manicure...it honestly looked like they were splitting the atom trying to figure out how to make the dip ombré work. Long story short I spent around $100 and asked for the single service to be refunded, not the gratuity. I was told this was not possible and that I couldn't make up my Mind yesterday and that's why they did the airbrush? The women working also told me if "10 people come in complaining I cannot refund them all then we would close." This is alarming as most nail places don't have numerous people complaining but based on my experience I can see her concern. They will be closed in a short while if they don't learn proper technique or customer service. I've actually never had a business employee yell at me, especially in front of other customers...had she graciously offered me the refund while keeping the gratuity I would have not posted a negative yelp review but this was unnecessarily negative for the customer. read more

My girlfriend and I decided to try this place out since our usual place was closed on a Sunday and we scoured Yelp for a place close to home with good reviews. We had a very easy time getting an appointment and the staff was very friendly over the phone. When we walked in the very first thing we noticed was an overpowering odor (mothballs, or something chemically). We let it go as the place was clean and the wall of polishes looked full and in good condition. The pedicure was really just ok. The chairs are old and worn and my tush was pretty sore after I got out. The biggest negative I can offer is that my girlfriend brought her color from the color wall with her, and when it came time for the toe painting there was a miscommunication. She decided she liked my color better and asked the gentleman to please use my color on her toes. He smiled nicely and held up another, similar color and she again repeated she wanted my color once my lady was done using it on me. He smiled and brought out another color from his stash right in front of him. My girlfriend just gave in and said it's ok, we can use the color I brought and he seemed pleased. All he had to do was get up and find another one of my color or wait for me to finish. It seemed lazy on his part. The last kicker came when it was time to pay. When we first sat down we were handed the price sheet and we went with the basic pedicure which was $30. At cash out time however, the lady charged $33. We asked about the sheet and she said you must have an old one, because of COVID we now charge more. What?? For just an average massage and average polish job with worn out chairs it was way too high. People there are very nice and it is in a convenient location with ample parking, but we just won't go back. read more

Just moved to the area and in search of a good nail salon. I had high hopes going in based on all the positive reviews, but sadly my search continues. The pros are that the decor is nice enough, it feels clean, and they offer a rewards card with points for each visit that you can use toward your next service. The service itself, however, left a lot to be desired. My nail tech seemed unsure of what he was doing for a basic manicure and pedicure and surely enough cut my cuticle without an apology until I asked for the drops to make it stop bleeding. My nails looked fine upon leaving but I don't think I would return. read more

I recently moved to Jupiter and needed a new nail spa for my pedicures and dipped nails. This place is wonderful. I couldn't be happier and will not go anywhere else. They treated me like an old friend even though that was my first time there. The dip and pedicure lasted longer than it normally does and the job was so professional and perfect. I can't recommend them highly enough. And the wine during the pedicure makes it such a relaxing pleasure to be there. I go back again tomorrow and I can't wait. Front desk staff were helpful but the woman that did my nails wasn't the best, she was really rough and made my nails way too long, she also didn't talk, if she wanted me to move my hand she would just nudge it until I moved it the right way. I don't usually write reviews, but I'm very disappointed in shades nails. This is a new salon so I wanted to support a local new business in town. I had a wedding coming up and wanted a relaxing afternoon with my mom and I to get our nails done. I made an appointment early in the week for both of us for a mani pedi. Well there was only one nail tech for my mom while I waited 45 mins!! Yes 45 mins!!! For my guy to come back (apparently he took a break??) even though we made appointments for the SAME time! Tiffany did my mom's nails and she seemed nice and did a good job. Meanwhile, my mom finished her pedi and then my guy (who did not even greet himself to me saying his name...) came in making no eye contact nor apologize for my ridiculously long wait! Furthermore, he did a quick crappy job on my feet just to finish so he could move on to walk ins that came in! So incredibly rude and unprofessional! I didn't say anything negative or make a big deal because I get people may have issues going on, but don't take that out on customers! He did not even clean under my nails (?!) and didn't even want to cut my nails until I said "can you please cut my nails?" while he was about to polish them! Very disappointed. He did not take the time to carefully work on me or make me feel relaxed and comfortable. He was rough with moving my feet in out of the water, and just acted like he does not enjoy what he does. Wrong career then because I'm a paying customer and that's not the way you treat people. It completely ruined the whole experience that we are PAYING for! I had to share this with everyone because I wouldn't want someone else to waste their time and money going here. They clearly do not have the right management and are understaffed. It's sad.
