The cord frayed in half on the inside of the post. This is after 2 months. Poor quality product!

BUYER BEWARE! We ordered an umbrella from Shade USA this summer. It was expensive, but the post can go in the holder in the Caribbean Shelf in our pool, so we thought it would be worth it. After only using it a few times, the rope on the inside of the post snapped/frayed in half. The umbrella is unusable. We contacted customer service and have been told that their warranty does not cover cord breakage. The quality of their product is cheap (but not their price!), and their customer service is terrible. Our Amazon umbrellas that we've had for 6 years are in great condition with no issues. I recommend you save your money and your frustration and shop at a reputable company with quality and ethics, NOT Shade USA.

ZERO STARS! Replacement canopy in Hunter green has faded to a yellow/green color in THREE WEEKS! I contacted Mark immediately and he condescendingly repeated that there is no warranty on this canopy. I fully realize that an outdoor umbrella will fade in a reasonable amount of time and I don't need a warranty on that! This is exactly why I'm buying a replacement, but three weeks is not reasonable! That equates to an INFERIOR product that they refuse to stand behind. The product is useless and Mark Taylor will attempt to mansplain and spin it to where you are wrong and just don't understand the piece of junk you purchased. Be sure to read the negative reviews he responds to, he is a piece of work! Do not rely on the reviews on THEIR website, just like other reviewers have stated, mine did not get posted either.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! This company does not stand behind the merchandize it offers. I have tried to deal with them to rectify an inferior umbrella I purchased last year for almost $200. ONE YEAR. The crank mechanism failed after minimal use and their position is, it's past 90 days. I am therefore stuck with an useable umbrella and am are out $200. I invested for a good patio umbrella from what I thought would be a good company. When the crank failed last week (it wouldn't raise or lower the umbrella), I contacted the company (Shade USA). Tammi a co-owner, responded: 'We are far outside of the 90-day reporting period for any sort of manufacturing issues. There may be something you can try: Your can remove the crank housing cover to expose a retaining nut opposite of the crank handle. Loosing this nut a bit might help." I wrote back asking for a video or more detailed instructions on how to do this. Haven't heard back. This company is ghosting me and washing their hands of any remediation for the dysfunctional frames they are selling. It's a little late for me because I looked at reviews for this company that were NOT on their website and I was shocked at the overwhelming volume of complaints by frustrated and unhappy customers when dealing with Shade USA. It should more appropriately be named Shady USA. I could post my in-depth pleas for help with this problem, but it would probably be too long. The point is, Shady USA is a waste of time to think they will give you any satisfaction. They have no integrity. They want your money, send you products that have an enormous history of unhappy customers who are stuck with inferior products by these disreputable owners. Tammi and her husband have full knowledge that their shoddy products fail in high numbers despite the premium pricing they enjoy. Big profits for cheap Chinese merchandize. It would be beneficial for everyone to simply make things "right" for their customers. These people are in business and should stand behind their products, but they do not. I don't know about you, but that is a LOT of money to spend on something that lasted only ONE YEAR. Do yourself a favor and do not look at the reviews on their website. Check out the reviews outside their website such as YELP, etc., and you will see this are basically a con operation. They could have sent me a new frame at minimal cost to them and kept good will for their company ~ and they could look into a better supplier for more reliable products. But they obviously just don't care. They got their money. Shady USA has an enticing website that leads a consumer to expect and rely on good business practices for a quality purchase at a premium price. Unfortunately, I am out $200 and am told to fix it myself and it might work. BE CAREFUL WHO YOU DEAL WITH ONLINE. THIS IS NOT A GOOD COMPANY. P.S. I posted my review on the ShadyUSA website and they have not published it. Stated they need to independently review it. Ha! No wonder there are only 2 negative ones on their entire site. My review will probably not make it on there either. More deceitful and unethical advertisement tricks.

We had this umbrella for about 6 weeks and the mechanism where it tilts just snapped one day. They are claiming that they will not warranty the umbrella because "severe trauma" must have induced this thing to break. We are in the mild weather season in Florida right now. Perfect days without rain or wind and they are unwilling to warranty the product. No wonder they have such horrible reviews. I will never, never do business with them again and I urge you not to either.

Less than a year this is what I get! Don't waste your money!

Horrible! Please don't waste your money here. Bought a canopy replacement for my 9' umbrella and 9 months later it's completely faded. Contacted customer service on their live chat and the rep told me that it's not meant to be outside all the time. I Said, it's an umbrella and where else would I be putting it?? His reply was "I assume this is a rhetorical question, is there anything else I can help you with". Are you kidding me?? No, it wasn't a rhetorical question and why would I buy an outdoor product that couldn't live outside? I live in Southern California, although always warm, it's not always sunny. I find it ridiculous that this was to be expected in this timeframe and I find their customer service to be insulting. Not to mention I paid more here than many other places sell for.

1st pic out of box and had just put up at the beach. That pic should have been enough reason to refund my money.

I love this place! I used to be an REI loyalists but lately my activities are getting much more…read moretechnical and REI doesn't seem to be able to supply all the gear I need. I came here a few days ago looking for vertical ascend gear out of caves. I was greeted by Jason and he was really helpful and knowledgeable. I needed very specific gear, and Jason was very patient with me and showed me where I could find sit harnesses, chest harness, chest ascender, hand ascende, foot loops, etc. I didn't find exactly what I needed but got a good idea on the things I need to build a personalized vertical gear set for myself. And of course, while I was looking for cave gear, I wandered around looking at all the fabulous gear they have, I was like a kid in a candy store. I could spend hours in here. I started looking at hydration packs as I need to replace mine and found a very nice military edition and will come back to purchase this soon. I also saw plenty of Petzl bags, and very tempted to purchase another. They also carry so much Petzl gear, you will be in heaven here. Also, some great hiking shoes and some sleek, but we'll performing water shoes. I then wandered into kayaks and Jason even showed me the Padillac they have! I've gotten into paddleboarding and kayaking for the summer and now want one of each! This place rents them and sells them. I then went to check out some wetsuit gear, and they have a really nice selection of wetsuits, gloves, booties, etc. I really love this place and it is definitely gonna bankrupt me, but so worth it. High quality gear, more extensive selection than REI and the staff here know what they are talking about. If you need something specialized, this is the place for you. I'll be back here soon!

We went to REI and they did not have the gear so they sent us here. They do have equipment for rentals but a limited supply so call ahead to ask. Adj: Very fun sporting goods and more store!…read more We love coming to different Bass Pro Shops. They're all kind of different, and yet similar. They're all huge, just that some are even bigger than the average. This one in Mesa, AZ is one of the biggest, we were told by staff. We came while on a trip out to Phoenix area, and we were staying nearby. It was a warm, or rather sizzling hot September day. There's not really a fall in AZ is there? Winter would be fall to most in temps. Anyhow, coming into this store was perfect for getting out of the heat. We wandered immediately over to the huge aquarium. A very attractive feature that my kids just love to gravitate towards no matter how old they are. After looking at the fishes for awhile, we wandered up to the 2nd floor and looked at all the camping gears, not so much b/c we're the camping type, but b/c the products are fun to check out and we discovered some innovations in camping chairs, they have come a LONG way, so comfortable that some of them feel like couches now, or like a reclining chair, almost like a la-z-boy in your family room. After checking out the camping section, we looked at the "stuffed" animals, aka taxidermy wildlife. They are always menacing and "scary" to me. What can I say, I get squeamish around wild animals alive or dead, but of course better if they're already taken care of so I don't have to run for my life. In any case, we also checked out their archery dept which is so cool b/c you can shoot arrow and test out their bows here at their indoor range (smaller, but sufficient) before buying and get practice in with your own bow, iirc. Finally, we just walked around all over, including much of the 1st floor to check out their water sports and apparel depts, all filled with goodies and fun stuff galore. If only money is no object huh? lol. Customer service was friendly and let us browse and explore as we liked, but were there for any questions or directions.

Huge BPS store! This one is in Mesa. We were staying pretty close by, could've technically walked…read moreover had it not been so hot. Spent a couple of hours one afternoon. We love visiting BPS's, it's like going into the wilderness without the prep and mosquito bites. We're only semi-outdoors people of the paved or at least graveled/dirt-road variety, and not too much rugged terrain please for my getting-old bones. Pros: - It's for pros, hence the name, lots of specialty brands. - I feel like I'm a pro when I come here, only need to trick me. - My kids get such a kick out of this place, it's got all the cool gadgets to make camping and other outdoors adventures high-tech and fun - So many taxidermy animals, my wife hates seeing them and get squeamish, but the kids and I find them fun to look at. I personally think they're cool. Too bad I can't bring one home. - Some things on sale are pretty reasonably priced. - Huge place to walk around in, get your exercise done indoors in perfectly temp-controlled environment. - Clean bathrooms and the whole place is kept up nicely. Cons: - Some items are definitely full-retail prices - mostly hiking shoes, water sandals, didn't see much if any discounts for those. - Other items seem even higher than retail at other stores - grills, camping equipment, some knives (although I don't know prices for those as much). All in all, a great place to visit, stick to sale stuff and you can find some decent to good deal for your next outdoors adventure. Service from staff is good if you need help, just ask, otherwise, it's more a hands-off, self-serve, wander-as-you-like type of place which I prefer anyway.
