Oh boy! Do I wish I had read these negative reviews before I purchased a replacement tilt umbrella for my new Treasure Garden canopy. After putting the umbrella up and down three times this season, it suddenly would not close. I was told immediately by Mark that the cord had snapped and that the problem would not be covered by the warranty. The cord allegedly snapping after being put up three times tells anyone thinking of buying from this company - think twice! I was told by Mark that the cord snapped because I was not using their canopy. Laughably, the expensive Treasure Garden canopy was a hair too big for the spokes so how does that makes sense? (My Treasure Garden umbrellas lasted 20 years). Within three seconds, my son figured out that the cord had caught on something and the umbrella worked. BUYER BEWARE! We ordered an umbrella from Shade USA this summer. It was expensive, but the post can go in the holder in the Caribbean Shelf in our pool, so we thought it would be worth it. After only using it a few times, the rope on the inside of the post snapped/frayed in half. The umbrella is unusable. We contacted customer service and have been told that their warranty does not cover cord breakage. The quality of their product is cheap (but not their price!), and their customer service is terrible. Our Amazon umbrellas that we've had for 6 years are in great condition with no issues. 3rd time's not a charm This the 3rd one I have purchased. They have gone down in quality, and up in price! This one is not holding up well. The umbrella fabric looks new, but the plastic ribs underneath are coming apart. The little metal pieces are failing on several of them. I used safety pins to hook back together. I emailed customer service for suggestions or if they could supply the replacement pieces. I got the response of: "I'm sorry, but I have no recommendation, as I have never encountered what you describe." Very condescending. I answered back and said I did not believe him (Mark Taylor). There was no help or suggestions, and no response back. Be weary of purchasing as they do not help if there any issues after they get your $. ZERO STARS! Replacement canopy in Hunter green has faded to a yellow/green color in THREE WEEKS! I contacted Mark immediately and he condescendingly repeated that there is no warranty on this canopy. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! This company does not stand behind the merchandize it offers. I have tried to deal with them to rectify an inferior umbrella I purchased last year for almost $200. ONE YEAR. The crank mechanism failed after minimal use and their position is, it's past 90 days. I am therefore stuck with an useable umbrella and am are out $200. I invested for a good patio umbrella from what I thought would be a good company. When the crank failed last week (it wouldn't raise or lower the umbrella), I contacted the company (Shade USA). Tammi a co-owner, responded: 'We are far outside of the 90-day reporting period for any sort of manufacturing issues. There may be something you can try: Your can remove the crank housing cover to expose a retaining nut opposite of the crank handle. Loosing this nut a bit might help." I wrote back asking for a video or more detailed instructions on how to do this. Haven't heard back. This company is ghosting me and washing their hands of any remediation for the dysfunctional frames they are selling. It's a little late for me because I looked at reviews for this company that were NOT on their website and I was shocked at the overwhelming volume of complaints by frustrated and unhappy customers when dealing with Shade USA. It should more appropriately be named Shady USA. I could post my in-depth pleas for help with this problem, but it would probably be too long. The point is, Shady USA is a waste of time to think they will give you any satisfaction. They have no integrity. They want your money, send you products that have an enormous history of unhappy customers who are stuck with inferior products by these disreputable owners. I am disappointed in the product and the customer service. The product arrived quickly (so it gets one star) but it doesn't appear well made. The upgraded canopy edges are unevenly sewn (plus multiple uncut threads), the vent is highly wrinkled, and the whole thing is unsteady. Perhaps it's my fault for not realizing that at 5 feet tall, I would not be able to lift a manual umbrella without a step stool. I spoke with Customer Service who told me that any return would have to be at my expense (I've already paid more than $25 for shipping). However, she said if there were any scratches on the pole, it wouldn't be returnable anyway (how do you know if you want an umbrella until you put it up? I Recently purchased 2 beach umbrellas from Shade USA. One unit Had 2 defects on it and the bottom pole broke in two in light wind the second time I used the product. I called customer service and they refused to replace the defective unit. I reluctantly purchased a replacement bottom pole unit, received it and the joining metal cylinder came off as I pulled it out of the box. It was not glued properly. The beach umbrella poles from Shade USA are defective and made with poor quality wood composite. It is not a solid wood pole. Beware of buying any products from this company as in my recent experience they will break and are made with inferior raw materials. The owners Mark and Tammi will not stand behind the products they sell. If I could rate this company with zero stars I would. As a reference point, This is the first time I have ever reviewed a company's product and their after sales service online, as the experience was that poor. Uh. Customer Service...is not existent. I have an integral piece on my offset umbrella of which I bought two that completely disintegrated after only a year. What a POS. I write to Mark and he tells me sorry we have no spare parts for those, but you can buy another one as we are clearing them out for $99. Great. kick me in the teeth. I ask him to part one out and he can have the parts for other people who will likely need parts and Mark tells me that they only have a 90 day warranty. Ordered online on a Wednesday, and the frame arrived on Friday - no fuss, no wait, (and lucky to be living the next state over!). When I put it up I noticed damage and open seams. I used it 2 hours on the beach and it is totally destroyed and unusable. I ordered an 11 foot wood umbrella from Shade USA. The ad posted that it was all wood. When it arrived, turns out that the most important parts (the collar in the middle) is plastic. This was not what I expected so I decided to return. So they boast a no hassle return policy. Absolutely not true. I had to box the umbrella back up (thank goodness I help the box) and pay for shipping to return an item that was not as described. It costs me $146.00 for the umbrella and $88 to return. I, too had a good experience. I ordered a replacement canopy for my treasure garden umbrella. Mark was very helpful in dealing with some weird measurements I had. The website discloses that certain fabrics cost more than others, but on top of that Mark got my express permission before adding the extra charge, The canopy arrived in about a week. Yes, it came without installation instructions, but why would anyone need installation instructions? . (And if you did, wouldn't they be supplied by the frame maker as to how to unscrew the filial, not the canopy maker?). The product looks as ordered and fit beautifully. The inside label says it's sunbrella fabric so I'm assuming it won't fade. (Maybe the rest of you ordered plain canvas, which always fades?). read more

Stay away from this place! I did research online how to measure my umbrella framework for a new canopy. I ordered the proper canopy and tried to install. A seam ripped out. I took photos of the ribs on the umbrella and sent them to customer service. The response was they can't do anything about it because I didn't follow their video on measuring. Horrible Fading! Ordered two "Tuscan Orange" 8 rib replacement canopies. Not even done with the first summer and they have both faded beyond recognition! Plus, it was an unusually rainy and cloudy summer, so they were not exposed to much sun. Whenever it rained, I closed and tied the umbrellas. I had a great experience with Shade USA. I respect each person's experience people, but I am writing about MY experience. I bought a replacement canopy for our 11' cantilevered umbrella. The ones that Shade USA sells are for 'Market Umbrellas.' and aren't made for the specific cantilevered style. So, I needed to return it. I sent two different emails to them, and both times they responded within an hour. The product we received was impressive! The weight of the fabric was surprising in a good way! I ordered three market umbrellas from Shade USA and unfortunately received them in the wrong umbrella color. I emailed the company, explained the problem, sent a picture as requested and they promptly emailed back and said they would send out the correct color covers. The only thing asked of me was to pack up the wrong ones and return them via UPS in the box they sent the new ones in (they paid for the return shipping). Problem solved. They couldn't have been more courteous and attentive. The span of elapsed time to solve the problem was 90 minutes (4 emails) start to finish. I highly recommend them and the only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because the order was wrong to begin with, but they sure made up for it with their very good customer service. I ordered two Rio Brand beach chairs and received them in San Diego in just three days by standard shipping. Everything was as advertised and correctly processed. The chairs are Rio Brand (SC536-70-1) backback beach chairs with cooler. They look reasonably well designed. Some of the components, the arms and recliner latch pins, are made of plastic which may be fine. We'll see how they hold up. read more

My girlfriend and I purchased two tellebrellas for our yearly trip to Maui, but unfortunately they didn't work . The video shows them holding up to wind but the local trade winds continue to close the umbrellas. The clamps are weak and as far as I'm concerned could be made better or even pinned. We just called and wanted to return them but they make it to darn hard and won't guarantee a refund, and they also don't pay for return shipping. The only advise I could give people is be be careful of sales with videos that look to good to be true. My experience with this company couldn't have been better. I was concerned that the umbrella quality would be poor and it wouldn't be able to get it back in the carry bag, but neither was a problem. Like one of the other customers mentioned, I also needed an umbrella for a last minute beach vacation so I ordered a 7ft. rainbow-colored, "fancy," self-anchoring $34.95 beach umbrella with expedited shipping. The umbrella has an SPF 50 rating, a double vented canopy and can tilt. The umbrella arrived in the stated time frame was exactly what I ordered and and the exact colors on the website. It's very good quality for $35 and has a screw-type base which screwed into the beach sand very easily. It blew over once, but we screwed it farther into the sand the next time and had no problems for the rest of the week. It comes with a removable small rod that can be placed horizontally into holes in the umbrella stand, which helps you get more torque when screwing it into the sand. It was very easy to break the umbrella into its two pieces and get it back into the carry bag. It slings over your shoulder for easy carrying and doesn't feel like it weighs 7 pounds. It was cooler in its shade than I expected, and made it so that we could stay at the beach all day without getting fried. My only regret is that I didn't order the 8 ft. The 7 ft. radius allows two people to be able to lay in its shade and for three to sit in chairs, but four is a little crowded. Depending on the size of your cooler and other things you may want to keep in the shade, it may only comfortably fit two sitting in the shade with all your other stuff. read more

I contacted customer service and they said they warrantied their products 90 days. I sent them information and photos and they claimed birds caused the damage.
