Unsafe driving and unprofessional response I normally don't write reviews, but I feel obligated to warn others about SF Tow. During the Sunday Streets event on June 14, 2026, one of their tow trucks drove into an active, car‑free street while Native dancers were performing. Sunday Streets is advertised as closed to cars, and one of the dancers was nearly hit because the tow truck came so close while they were in the middle of a performance. I have photos and video of how close it was, and it could easily have ended in someone getting seriously hurt. After the incident, I called the number the city gave me for SF Tow (415‑961‑6182) to make a formal complaint. The person who eventually identified himself as "Samuel" was extremely unhelpful and evasive. He resisted giving even basic information like his last name, his job title, or the owner's name. Instead of giving me an official company email to send photos for a complaint, he only offered a personal Yahoo email address and wanted me to send everything directly to him, which felt very inappropriate and unprofessional for a company that works under a city contract. If SF Tow is doing work for the city, there should be basic transparency and accountability. In my experience there was neither: unsafe behavior on the street and then an unwillingness to provide proper channels to report it. I've reported this situation to the city and would not feel safe relying on this company. read more

Before I called SF Tow, I was quoted $300. For a Ninja300 tow (1.2miles). Horrified by that amount - I called SF Tow and was quoted $175! 20 min later, Samuel showed up and quickly loaded my bike and towed it home. He was professional and courteous. I never had an accident so was pretty shook up - he really made me feel like I was in good hands. I definitely recommend SF Tow to anyone in need of a tow. read more

As a female alone on the side of the road I felt very safe with him and this company. Would highly recommend if you ever get stuck in a bind. He even spent the time to create a specific receipt that I could provide to my insurance company for reimbursement and provided photos of my car delivered at the auto shop. My car decided to die at the corner of Van Ness and Sutter in SF...right in the bus lane, stranding me and my big ol' dog on a chilly Sunday afternoon! I called my insurance company's recommended tow company and got put on hold, had to fill out an online form before they could commit, then gave them my credit card info (twice!) ad sat for 40 minutes but no truck arrived. I called them back and was told that I had to send a photo of my drivers license before they could run my credit card and dispatch a tow truck and oh by the way, their original quote of $263 didn't apply, they would charge me $363 to cover the cost of crossing the Bay Bridge and it would be another 45 minutes before the truck could get there!!!!!! Many cuss words and a cancellation ensued. I then randomly called the first tow company that popped up on Google maps and Wow!!! What a difference!!!! He answered the phone on the second ring, gave me a quote of $150 including the bridge, and arrived in 30 minutes, just as promised. He had a new truck with all the safety equipment needed to get my car and me back home. He didn't bat an eye at my big ol' dog and very kindly let her ride in the truck cab with him. He rolled through SF like a boss, my car safely strapped down and secure. He dropped my car safely at the mechanic shop in Oakland and went on his way to his next service call like a super hero, no drama, just doing his job. This company deserves EVERYONE's business. Seriously. Put his phone number (415-961-6182) in your contacts and if you ever need roadside assistance that won't break the bank or make you holler, CALL HIM!!!! read more

My car had a flat tire was told the stud will break if I try to replace it with my spare tire. Through my insurance, I scheduled a tow to the tire place the next morning. Samuel came early in the morning, and gave me a ride to the tire shop, I told him I haven't ate breakfast and is looking for a place to grab a quick snack. This company is amazing! My son needed his car towed out of the airport parking. We were not able to be there and Manuel now only towed the car within a few hours but worked with the parking attendant helping us email the proper forms back and forth for signatures. On 7/4/2021, on my way home, my motorcycle broke down. My insurance carrier has road side assistance and they assigned SF Tow LLC to my break down. Being 4Th of July, at about 5 pm, ETA for the tow truck was 60 to 90 minutes. SF Tow LLC arrived in about 25 minutes. My BMW K1200LT motorcycle can not be tied down using the handle bars and has to be tied down using the front forks and a lower cross bar. The tow truck driver was Samuel, who owns the company and he admitted he has never towed a large motorcycle like mine and he wondered how to tie in down. After getting it onto the flatbed, Samuel looked over the front of the motorcycle and said he figured it out. Samuel then tied the front end down and it was the correct way. I was about 40 miles away from home, when I broke down and the entire time driving, Samuel continuously looked to be the sure the motorcycle was still secure.
