Would give negative if i could. Super rude, deceiving, predatory, no sense of customer service, there's a reason they have such bad reviews. The message from the owner on the about page explains everything. Look we only have bad reviews cuz ppl are mad law enforcement towed their vehicles, but i swear we provide good service. Safe to say, if i ever need a legitamite tow, red line towing would be the last company i would ever call. Message from owner states - they have polite staff, couldn't be farther from the truth read more

Horrible experience.!! The who driver who we recieved the vehicle from was very rude for no reason. We were already having a hard time after being in an hit and run accident and getting out of the hospital. when asked a question he and was being a smart ass, this type of service is very unprofessional. After reading other peoples comments apparently we were not the only one who encountered this bad customer service. read more

This accident happened in Half moon bay I don't understand why the car went to San Mateo anyways ... This guy was hella shady wouldn't let him get him property and was making up prices.. It's a predatory gig. They damaged my car and they demanded $130/day, including charging for 1hr one full extra day for having the car in their dusty lot. They towed my car for $348 and between Tuesday 3pm and Thursday 4:45pm they charged me $390 for "parking" fees. I picked up my car dirty and damaged and had to pay $738 for it. The CHP uses them and it's unconscionable to see a state agency collaborating with such a predatory outlet. Keep away! read more

Charged us more than originally quoted. Ridiculous how they can't even honor what they quote. No class

You get scammed $700 , the most should be $500. Tried to get my car so I wouldn't pay a night fee & still got charged. Driver arrived 45 mins later. I was parked in a place were there was no sign I couldn't park & still got towed. F** my landlord she should be paying for this read more

I requested them to tow my car to get my car fix . When a mechanic received the car the car was scratches on front bumper . The driver very rude and impolite told me that a scratches was there . I have photos right before they tow the car . I will requested my insurance to call then and asking for a insurance information. Next time be polite and more responsible. read more

Called Redline after my bike broke down on the 101 Saturday morning and they were not only able to come get me in under an hour they were even able to help my find a place to bring it. Great service and expert handling of my motorcycle. I will keep this number handy and highly recommend them should you need a tow or roadside assistance in the Bay Area. read more

Worst company ever, very rude employees. After an accident I asked to take my car to a parking lot, and the tow guy asked to see my bank account before to make sure I have money. After I denying his request he got in the truck and took my car without my authorization read more

Hopefully if you're ever in an accident you don't have to deal with this company, they charged almost 500 dollars to tow bike, less then 10 minutes from the accident scene to home, said it took 90 minutes since they "charge" the minute a cop calls for a tow. This is robbery. There's no way it takes that long, and because they messed not showing up with a flare bed, it's in you to pay for there time and mistakes. If you're ever in a pinch or are hurt due to an accident try to make sure to tell the cops not to call this company. read more

Redline Towing was there for me and my wife when we got into a pretty bad accident last summer. Anthony bent over backwards to make sure we were ok and helped me get my affairs in order in my post-accident shock. You rarely call a tow truck unless you're in a bad situation. Anthony made our bad situation so much easier! The man has a big heart- rare for a guy on call 24/7 serving mostly grumpy people. read more

Rates are incredibly high. 70 per day storage. Around 200 for the tow. 100$ for weekend pick up. They pretty much get free money.

Well, we've seen everything - angels now drive tow trucks!! We were hearing suspicious engine noises on our family vacation in the SLO area so began thinking of several possible ways to get us and our car home including train, rental car, bus, flying, using our AAA limited tow, RV, and just pitching a tent for a week while our car got repaired locally. Thankfully Red Line picked up our call and made quick arrangements to not only bring our family member's spare car to use, but of course to tow our SUV back to our Bay Area mechanic safely. The owner, Anthony, provided several solutions for us and was very communicative along the way, and most importantly arrived earlier than expected so we could continue enjoying our vacation time. He was actually so quick to unload and load the tow bed that I didn't even get to say thank you in person (our toddler enjoyed watching too much from the hotel window). We are so grateful, Anthony! read more

Red Line Towing - Red Line arriving early with our family's spare car, he soon loaded our SUV to tow back to our Bay Area mechanic. - Towing Near Me - San Mateo, California

Needed a tow on the 92 today. Mike arrived in the time relayed on the initial call. He was courteous, professional, and made sure to look our for both of our safety when hooking up the SUV. He was efficient loading the vehicle up and even offered me a ride to the dealership. It's so great to interact with people who actually care about other people. The ride meant a lot when others may have cited COVID fears and made me try and find another ride. Thanks a lot, Mike and Red Line Towing! God bless you. I hope your Monday goes better than mine so far! read more

Needed a tow to the shop as my car wouldn't start. They were very helpful, called to confirm the address. They arrived within 20 minutes, we were pretty close by. The driver who came was friendly, helpful and quick. Would highly recommend. read more

Called to get a quote on a tow and the lady was rude and completely uninterested/unprofessional. She could care less about business and just wants to get on and off the phone as quickly as possible. On top of that I was quoted more then double what I was quoted somewhere else. read more

Just got off work at 10pm and found my tire completely flat. Not really knowing how to fix it on a truck I called redline. Terrible, rude, corrupt place. We had our car towed here which is already an unpleasant experience in itself. I was in car accident and unfortunately had experience with Red Line Towing. Their worker did everything very slowly. After he pulled the car from the intersection and got out of the car and talked with road workers for about 15 minutes. I had to rush him. Naturally, the rate was hourly - 260$ per hour!! They towed my car for 3 miles to the nearest body shop. I called their company 1 week after the accident and they said that the price will be 160$ for exactly this kind of service. I paid 260$ for 3 miles, WOW! I was shocked after the accident and they took advantage of this situation and took twice as much and did all things very slowly. I will NEVER recommend this company!! read more

Today, I decided to eat lunch in my car (and charge my phone at the same time - doh!) and when I went to start the car, it just made a clicking sound. I noticed a Red Line Towing truck parked near me and I crossed my fingers that I had enough cash in my pocket to request a jump. I knew calling for road side assistance would just be a hassle and delay me, so I was willing to pay to skip that whole ordeal. I spotted Anthony and Cole returning to their vehicle, lunch in hand, and I asked if they had jumper cables and could help me. They were so kind and jumped my car in such a jiffy! AT NO CHARGE! I am so thankful that 1) we have the same great taste in deli's so we were in the same location and 2) that they were willing to help me on their lunch break at no cost. Stand Up Guys, the both of them. Thanks!! read more

It's never a good experience to have your car breakdown and be stranded on the side of the road. But its good to know that Red Line is there to help you back on your feet. I used Red Line twice in the past two months and both experience have been great. My v-belt ripped apart, clutch fan stopped and the car started overheating. I had Red Line on my cell (you should too) and Anthony showed up promptly to take my baby to the mechanic shop. Anthony is easy to work with, quick to respond and professional. I trusted him with my BMW and I will definitely be using RL Towing again if needed (knock on wood). read more

Got my car impounded today. My fault, yes. DMV and police were a breeze. This place, not so much. Beware. The dispatcher is... Unprofessional. Snotty. Sarcastic. Kind of amusing reactions from her too, in a sick way. Heaven forbid you ask her a simple question. First call: it'll be 15 minutes Second call: it'll be 10 more minutes Third call: it's going to be another 20 minutes I question where the driver is, so I can get a gist of how long I'll actually be waiting. She says she wouldn't tell me even if she has a GPS and hung up on us at least twice. I can totally see her reading this review and laughing at it. Lady, this isn't funny. You aren't a nice person. You seem miserable and its pretty sad. Take that attitude out of the service industry and go work where you don't have to deal with people. Or animals. Or anything living. ----- An hour later and the driver finally arrives. Lies and says he was there for 20 minutes waiting for me to come back. This company is a scam. This company is very small and likely DOES not have many drivers. Burlingame/Millbrae PD, please dump your contract with this little scam company and use a reputable company who will appreciate the business you give them. read more

My Honda CRV had about 200,000 miles on it, and some of the coolant hoses started to crack. My coolant leaked while I was on my way home during the weekday and overheated. I got the car home but had a busy work week so I got a ride to work with a friend. AAA wouldn't pick up my car and bring it to the mechanic if I wasn't there. Anthony from Red Line went above and beyond and found a way to get it done. He let me pay over the phone, got the car to the mechanic (AWD), and I was able to pick up my car without disruption to my work week. The price was really fair... I've had experiences before where tow guys damage my car and I spend weeks on the phone with claims... I have Anthony saved on my phone... read more

We needed some help transporting an extremely heavy fork lift from Redwood City to San Jose for a job we were doing there, and we needed a solution at the last minute. The folks at Red Line scheduled a flatbed pickup for the very next day! They showed up exactly on time, loaded the forklift quickly and securely, and we were done with our job and back at my shop in about half the time I was expecting it would take. Their pricing was right what we expected, plus, we saved so much in our own time and labor costs that it was a net positive all the way around. We liked them so much, we used them again two weeks later! read more

Anthony, the owner of this company took the time to come and speak to our business class at Canada College. His presentation on Red Line Towling left me with no doubt in my mind as to who I would call when I need a tow. He comes across as extremely professional and kind. He has a military background and is programmed to be on time! Their drivers are well kempt, not grungy and stinky (No offense to other driver's that smoke in their truck and show their cracks). They take pride in being well mannered, polite, and professional. Program Red Line into your cell phone, you never know when you might need a reliable person to bail you out! read more

They requested a copy of my release of liabilty becuase the owner of the bike i sold did not pay registration.and got towed. I told them dmv has records get it from them and they said i have to send them a copy for records i dont have anymore. I spent half a day with dmv trying to fill out the form correctly becuase it has nothing to indicate get a copy of release liabilty i submitted more than a year ago. , as well as speaking with dmv operator who wouldnt tell me who its name is under. This is after giving my name and info -the seller, and giving the name of the buyer. Theese people are shady to request this form ,they should get it from dmv and not bother past sellers. dmv just plain sucks in general as well. read more

This review is overdue and I sincerely apologize! I LOVE RED TOWING - they were super reliable and they came superfast. My car got stuck on the freeway and, unfortunately, I have Allstate for Motor Club and they were estimating a 4 hour wait - who has 4 hours to wait??? I found Red Towing via YELP and called them and boom! 30 minutes later they were towing my car! These guys are legit, friendly and super awesome! read more

I have been saved by Anthony of Red Line Towing four times already. Twice my car broke down and had to be towed to the mechanic (I do need a new car, don't I?). The towing experience couldn't have been more easy and painless. Anthony showed up promptly and handled the whole thing very professionally. The other two times I actually locked myself out of the car (got only one set of keys) and didn't know what to do. Do I call a locksmith? I figured I would give Anthony a call and see if he could help. Sure enough, he had the tools and the experience necessary to unlock my Volvo and and get me back inside my car in less than 30 minutes after I called him. If you need someone who you can trust in the towing business, look no further. Red Line is professional, timely and reliable. They take pride in their work and I am so happy to have found them! read more

The driver that showed up was super rude right off the gate . Was not helpful at all and stated he only worked weekends . I smelled alcohol on his breath . THIS IS A SCAM OPERATION!!!!!!!!!! These guys have a dubious deal with the San Mateo or San Carlos authorities. They towed my car (a 1997 Mercedes with ~200K+ miles in my daughter's possession), they demanded a Title (i was traveling on business and had to order a Title copy). I got no calls or notifications of the process. They sold my car (Lien company only sent a letter). They then referred a bill for $3,448 to a collections agency (incl. $258 for towing). They reported they made no money selling my car (it was damaged but had material and parts). They are charging ~$80 per DAY when auto storage in Redwood City is ~$110 per MONTH. Civic authorities are probably earning some money from this as well so it shouldn't be a surprise that they perhaps feel this is fair. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY AND THIS SCAM THEY ARE RUNNING. read more

A tale of two experiences for me. I don't think it's fair to comment on the business practices of tow places because, well, you are at their mercy and they have to make money too. I am mostly writing this review because I received pretty good service - for the most part. I had one specific bad experience that I felt I needed to write this review about. I was hit, my car was totaled, and I ended up in the ER. When I was discharged and began the arduous and stressful process of figuring the whole thing out, I called Red Line a total of three times and received good service the first time, from one female and one male, who I was transferred to and who seemed to know more about how title transfers work. Then I called back and this time, another female, was incredibly rude. I always try really hard to be nice but received conflicting information from the insurance and just wanted to clarify something. She proceeded to interrupt me to state that she wasn't trying to be rude at all but she had four other calls on hold and could I hurry this up. In the time it took her to say that, I could have already asked my last question and gotten off the phone. I then hung up because I was upset and called back with the insurance claims agent, who got through and asked the question I could have asked the first time. She was adequate on this third call. The guys on-site were also very nice as well. Please make sure to figure out who the female I am speaking about is. She made a stressful situation worse for no reason. read more

Needed a tow and for a relatively decent price, last minute. The dispatch ladies were friendly, helpful and easily gave me a quote. They told me it'd be about 30 minutes until the driver arrived. I got a call from the driver, Cole, about 5 minutes after the call and he said it'd be about 10-15 minutes. When he arrived, he was very friendly, got the car up on the flat bed and ready to go pretty quick. Followed him to the drop off location and took care of business. Such an easy process and made what started out a stressful situation, into an easy transaction. Thank you! read more

We needed a flat bed tow truck to move my husband's tool box (1000+ lbs) from where he used to work to his new job (he's an automotive technician). We had initially called Quality Towing, but they NEVER showed up after 2 1/2 hrs even though we made several phone calls checking on the status of the driver. We ended up calling Red Line and they had a tow there in 5 minutes, just as they promised. It took the guy awhile to get the tool box on the flat bed and strapped down, but he handled the tool box with great care and we were glad that he cared to strap it down thoroughly (better safe than sorry!). The price was a bit more expensive than what we expected ($350 from San Mateo to Palo Alto), but the service was well worth it. read more
