Within a few weeks of our initial meeting, Patti had pulled together several different color schemes with fabric swatches for drapes and furniture to choose from. We went through room by room and talked about how we "live" in each room, then made recommendations about types of furniture that would achieve our goal. We had toddlers at the time so we didn't want anything with sharp edges or easily breakable and she worked around our needs perfectly. She was also very good about incorporating any pieces of art or furniture that we already owned and wanted to keep with the new furniture. She made it all work together beautifully. After all our furniture arrived, she swooped in with loads of accessories and "styled" each room. My husband and I were in shock to see the transformation of each room, how everything fit together so perfectly and how each item contributed to the room as a whole. We were finally out of beige hell! it really was amazing to witness. I gave Patti 4 stars instead of 5 because I think as a designer in SF, it is really easy to head to the Design Center as the primary stop - it is easy and convenient. We did not have a champagne budget or a beer budget for that matter, we were somewhere in the middle. For our budget, I did a lot (and I mean weeks) of searching online to find similar items we'd seen at the Design Center that were far less expensive options for us. I think it is important to have multiple "go to" sources for varying budgets. That said, we have used Patti again on subsequent projects and would enlist her services again as our home and rooms evolve. We have come to value and respect her talents a great deal.

I love it SO much. We re-painted kitchen cabinets and walls downstairs and completely overhauled our furniture and blew out our bathroom for new tiling, vanity, fixtures and cabinets. She had so many resources that while at times overwhelming, she had a ton of patience with us and helped us make decisions when we were stuck. My husband and I really are so happy. So 2 main things I think are what make Jenny a stand-out. 1) her vision is beyond any thing I could ever come up with. Jenny helped us immensely with identifying our desired aesthetic and some associated simple design terms to create a framework for the remainder of our discussions. From there, we identified the rooms where we had the most space to fill and where we would spend the most time, and decided on addressing our living room, dining room, kitchen, and home office together. We were presented with clear, concise "A, B, or C" options for selecting and pairing paint colors with flooring, lighting, and functional as well decorative pieces. This approach removed all the "blank slate" stress we initially felt going into the project and facilitated a collaboration which quickly led to selecting components that came together beautifully. Along the way, Jenny helped up strike our desired balance between a few up-market purchases for "showpiece" areas along with modest purchases for complementary items. Jenny was extremely compassionate and generous with her time to help ensure we were comfortable with all the final decisions for each room. I can't recommend Parke & Olive enough for any sized project!

Who would have thought that my girlfriend and I could really have what we want?! She got the blue couch of her dreams and thanks to Lane I love it too! Lane has a strong aesthetic sense and is not shy about sharing her opinion AND I have never felt pressured to do something. Lane does a great job with client participation whether you know just what you want or are a bit more vague "you know, it's kinda like this thing I once saw, well sorta like......". Favorite pieces of furniture and artwork look more lovely against new paint colors, proper window coverings allow us to watch tv during the day without glare, and new pieces enliven the look of our home and make it more comfortable. Of Lane's many strengths I would like to highlight one in particular. We've been working with Lane for almost a year now. The project started with plans for some small upgrades in the living room and has grown into an overhaul of the room and varying degrees of changes throughout our home. Whether she is given tight parameters or a lot of latitude Lane delivers within the scope of our vision. For example, we are prepared to only make some smaller scale changes to our kitchen. We will not be replacing the granite that neither of us like, but Lane's savvy eye immediately saw that if we changed the wall color we could bring forward our favorite color in the stone (a color that my eye was too overwhelmed to even notice was in the stone!). The apartment looked drab but our budget and time were both tight. I had hesitated to hire a designer since I'm not the kind of person who typically does that. My husband pointed out that, at 8 months pregnant, I didn't have the time or energy to be going to paint stores. He was right. Ysabel made the process seamless. She helped us make beautiful choices for the things that mattered most (floors, paint, light fixtures, window treatments). She truly listened to our preferences and came back with just a few options for us to choose from. We almost always found something we loved in the first options she presented; in one case (bathroom floor) we wanted more options and she gracefully accepted that feedback and brought more. In the end we truly love our apartment and marvel daily at some of the choices we made that we wouldn't have without her: our green fireplace, blue bathroom tile, and sage bathroom cabinets amongst others! It feels like "us" but we wouldn't have known it without her. There were just two small things where we wished we'd had a better sense of the materials in advance (the kitchen floor material was hard to install, and the light fixture in the kitchen is quite small for the space) but this was due to our tight timeline... So we then went through 7 or so years of mediocre color, furniture, and design decisions. We had been looking for a new couch for more than a year when Cillesa came into our lives. She won us over by suggesting a new layout for our living room that instantly, dramatically improved the flow. Then she showed us 3 potential couches, all of which were utterly perfect. We had to redo a big chunk of our kitchen because of a wall oven we couldn't replace, and Cillesa guided us through the whole process with ease--she recommended an awesome contractor (and managed him), helped us select tile, and worked with the countertop guys to save us money by putting the seams in just the right places. We don't do anything without her. We've put in new hardwood floors, expanded our back deck, and painted inside and out. Most recently, she overhauled our garage / driveway area.
