Super friendly staff, they were attentive and nice. The restaurant is clean, food was great, really good pho broth. Love that it was 3 mins away from our hotel GSR as well.

The pho here was really good and close to all of the casinos so you don't have to travel far. The service was A++++ and I would come back for how kind and attentive they were. The broth was good I was just missing the spice. I wish their chilli oil was spicier. Especially after a really long night of gambling and drinking. Pho is fire. And next time I'll try other items.

Hot sour soup comes with lots of tofu. Very flavorful.

Great service and amazingly delicious food. Everything I have tried here has been amazing. I am eating my way through the entire menu. Lol! A great place to dine in or takeout. You can't go wrong with this locally owned restaurant. The staff is very friendly and always accommodating. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

I walked in and it smells just like my mother-in-law's house! My MIL is Vietnamese and she cooks amazing food and this restaurant smells exactly like her kitchen, her home. I heard great things about this place, and actually a good friend of ours happens to know the owner, so finally we went here to confirm people's positive experience. We ordered the egg roll and salt and pepper chicken for appetizers. Their eggroll was so delicious. It was crispy, had loads of wood ear fungus (my favorite), vermicelli noodles and so much more! Their salt and pepper chicken was so bomb because the chicken was meaty, juicy, and breading was on point. I ordered the rare steak pho and you can tell they cooked their broth to perfection. It reminded of how I cook my pho actually and how my MIL cooks her. It really tastes like they didn't take the shortcut by using phở powder. I really enjoyed their pho and will have to try more when we come back here. My husband ordered his favorite dish bún bò hue, and had me try his and tasted very good too. The only thing he commented on his was that they overcooked the noodles for it was too soft. My MIL order chicken phở and she loved it. Overall SF Kitchen gave us an authentic feel. Their service was very welcoming and quick. We also loved how the setting felt, simple and "homey". So if you haven't tried this place and you're reading this, GO!

I always add a little Hoison sauce to my Pho, but honestly, it didn't need it.

First time checking out SF Kitchen here in Reno just off of the freeway at Mill St and Kietzke. They're said to serve both Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine. Let's check it out! Of course I had to try the Pho! I'm a sucker for a good Pho. So first--the restaurant was just what you would expect. A spacious dining area, wooden tables and chairs. Nothing too fancy. A chill ambiance, not too much for decor, but I didn't come there to stare at walls, I came to grub! Lol My buddy Yasir and I would grab seat in the back and chat and we'd both order a combination bowl with Flank and Rare steak. Verdict? Fast and friendly service, a steaming hot bowl of Pho with a delicious broth. I wish for more protein in this bowl please! Places like this always seem to serve you more noodles than meats, but I digress. The broth was killer and that order if spring rolls we got with that favorful pork and it's marinade... Mmm! Overall a traditional Vietnamese dining experience. How does it rank against places like Pho 999 or even an SK Noodle? There could be some friendly competition there, but all in all, I love how some restaurants strive to make slight deviations and distinctions in their dishes that set them apart. SF Kitchen does it. I'll come back and try one of their entree with the Mrs and give you a other review should you be on the fence. The Pho alone I think should make you curious. It's all about the broth! And service of course.

Came to Reno for the weekend and were craving pho. After seeing the great reviews, we decided to give this place a try--and we're so glad we did! We ordered the rare beef & flank pho, the flank steak & oxtail pho, and my mom had the sweet & sour pork with pork fried rice, pot stickers, and egg flower soup. Everything was delicious--the pho broth was rich and flavorful, and the Chinese dishes were just as tasty. They easily accommodated our party of 10, the service was fast, and the atmosphere was family-friendly. We've found our new favorite spot in Reno and will definitely be back!

A Reno Gem: If you haven't been to SF Kitchen yet, you are seriously missing out. This place is an absolute standout in Reno's food scene. I LOVE IT HERE! The Food The food here is beyond delicious--every dish we tried was bursting with fresh, authentic flavor. The Pho is absolutely amazing and I've tried so many spots in town, and I can confidently say this is the best Pho in Reno I've had. The broth is rich, aromatic, and has that perfect depth of flavor that you only get from a kitchen that truly knows what they're doing. The Service & Staff It's not just about the food, though. The people who work here are wonderful. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with genuine warmth. Fiona is an absolute gem . The service is fast, attentive, and the staff really goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience. You can tell the team here actually cares about their customers. A Note on Large Parties For transparency: they do charge a set tip for large parties. Honestly, this is a completely normal practice at almost any reputable restaurant to ensure the servers are fairly compensated for the extra work that goes into managing a big group. To be frank, leaving a bad review specifically because of a standard large-party gratuity says a lot more about the person leaving the review than it does about the business. This is also a small family owned business serving FRESH authentic food. Which means sometimes the food might take longer to get to you on busy days, say like Christmas or New Years when they are slammed packed BUT it's always worth the wait! I've been coming here for years and years and years. The owners care deeply about each and every one of their customers and employees. They make you feel like family and it feels like home You can't find that much anywhere anymore. Bottom line: If you want incredible food, top-tier service, and the best bowl of Pho in the city, go to SF Kitchen. You won't regret it!

Shrimp salad -love the dressing not the typical fish sauce

Always a must when I'm in town. Today I tried ox tail beef stew and shrimp salad. Both were very delicious. The ox tail stew were very tender with tons of meat along with some veggies at the bottom of the pot which I appreciate. The flavor were excellent with no powdery seasoning taste. The shrimp salad was a surprise, I was expecting the typical fish sauce dressing but nope whatever it was it was delicious! I'm back home now and still thinking about it. Can't wait to go back!

This is our GO TO PHO-SPOT when we stay at GSR. It's like a 4 minute drive, super fast and hella good flavor. They got Chinese entrees too, if you have picky kids that don't eat soup. HEADS UP! The liquor store next door sells hella expired stuff, be careful. Alotta different "Rhino pills" too, if you're into that.

Solid place for Viet foodfare. Good pho, Vermicilli and bbq pork/beef. Convenient location (for me anyway). Clean establishment and food came out fast. Not perfect 5 stars as while good it is also not exceptional. The pricing is on the slightly high side.

    Sizzling Pork Short Ribs

This is one of our go-to stop because of the delicious food and vegetarian/vegan options. Today I got the special, Sizzling pork short ribs and it was just as delicious as everything else I've had. Every server we have had there has been incredibly kind in this cute little restaurant.

    Honey garlic chicken lunch special
    Jocelyn R.

Love the ambiance in there and the customer service is always on point! Very friendly and quick service. The food is always delicious no matter what I order, but their lunch special honey garlic shrimp is my favorite! Was a little bummed this time around as I ordered the shrimp and got chicken instead. They offered to remake it but I have a short lunch and couldn't wait.

My friend and I were looking up restaurants to eat at after a day at Northstar, and came across SF Kitchen, one of the only Vietnamese/Chinese places in the area. It's quite unassuming, and looks a bit plain on the inside, but the food is great! The extra large size of their pho bowls has a ton of noodles and meat, and taste exactly as you would like it to be. The servers were nice and informative, and if you're craving some pho, it's a spot to consider!

    Are there any delivery options?

i think they are through postmates

Do they serve FRIED Imperial rolls? The difference between Imperial rolls and egg rolls is the wrapper. Imperial rolls are wrapped in rice flour wrappers. Egg rolls (Chinese style) are wrapped in wheat flour wrappers. Both are deep fried.

spring rolls do not have to be deep fried. As far as the wrappers go you are correct. and yes they serve both.

This time I went with the Broken Rice Combination Plate and we shared a Combination Banh Mi. Both were delicious. This is the first time I have gotten something other than pho and it didn't disappoint. The pork chop was cooked perfectly, the pork skin was tender, and the shrimp and egg cakes both hit the spot. They are fast and efficient with their service! If you go on the weekends, you're likely to be 2-4 tables back on the list, but it usually flies by. The food is ready QUICKLY. Absolutely a must hit in Reno

Don't judge me - I went to a pho place and DIDN'T get pho. Call me crazy, but when I get a large…read moresteaming bowl of broth with meat and toppings, and sit at a nice big table with all the condiments and special spoons, with all the aromos floating about, it enhances the experience. Taking home a smaller container of broth than what you get if you ate there, with everything packed up, risking the spill on the drive home, only to probably have it sit on the counter for awhile before getting to dig in... not how I like to eat pho. So I ordered some takeout stir fry "chow mein" and pot stickers from Pho 999 in Reno NV, and this is the review of it. I ordered at 5:30pm on a Friday night, got my food at 5:45pm, and was able to eat it at 6:15pm so it was still reasonably warm. First, the pot stickers. They came with three different sauces, something I appreciated. Some bitter chili oil, sambal chili paste (I assume) and some kind of sweet and savory sauce I couldn't identify. Kinda akin to teriyaki but not cloying and sticky, purely liquid. Which I didn't mind at all, it was delicious. As were the pot stickers. A little crispy, tasty filling, perfectly seasoned as you could eat then by themselves. Now the combo stir fry with "chow mein" noodles, and shrimp and beef. The stir fry combo is fully customizable, something I like. Many different noodle options and three meat options. What I got did not appear to be what I ordered. To the average American, these are egg noodles. Flat, wide, soft, no char whatsoever, which not what you would expect from chow mein. Did I like them? They were ok. Is it what I pictured? No. But I've ordered chow mein at Pho places in the past, and got exactly what you expected chow mein to be. These were not. They were cooked well, salted adequately, and took to additional sauce well (I added the sweet/savory sauce from the pot stickers). The rest of the stir fry I ordered was good, though they included all three meats, chicken beef and shrimp. I didn't want chicken. Kinda leads me to believe the person cooking got confused, put the wrong stuff, and just kept cooking the same batch. The veggies were cooked perfectly and there was a good mix of them. There was a appropriate amount of meat, not excessive or under whelming. But that is how I was left feeling after eating at Pho 999, which makes me a bit sad. When I picked up the food everyone was really nice, polite, and welcoming. The dining area appeared clean. I had fully planned on going back and dining in So I could experience fresh pho in person. But, I have to judge my experience based off of what I asked for, and what I got. Pot stickers were a 5 out of 5. Definitely would order again. The fact you get ten of em for under ten bucks is really nice. The stir fry "chow mein"? 2.5. they weren't bad, but they weren't great. Just ok....and for $18, just ok is unacceptable. Final rating? A disappointing 3 out of 5. I hope when I go back to try the pho in person I get a better experience than I had today.

Disappointing Experience and Unexpected Charges…read more We visited this Vietnamese restaurant during our trip to 205 West 5th Street, Reno, NV 89503 . It was recommended by our tour guide, and since we were unfamiliar with the area, we followed the recommendation. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The restaurant's interior was quite old and dated. We also noticed flies flying around inside the dining area, which was unpleasant. The food also took about 15-20 minutes to arrive, even though we only ordered three bowls of Vietnamese noodles. The biggest disappointment came when we received the bill. The three noodle dishes were $15.95, $16.50, and $16.50, for a food subtotal of $48.95. We were then charged an $8.81 Service Fee. On top of that, an 18% tip of $10.40 was suggested, calculated after the Service Fee had already been added. With $4.05 in tax, the final total came to $72.21. In other words, the food itself was $48.95, while the Service Fee, tip, and tax added another $23.26, which was about 32% of the final bill. I understand that restaurants have operating costs and that tipping is common in the U.S. However, I personally find it difficult to understand why customers are charged a Service Fee and then encouraged to leave an additional 18% tip calculated on top of that fee. This review is not about the food price itself. My main concern is the overall experience and the lack of transparency regarding the additional charges. For tourists visiting Reno, NV 89503 area, I recommend checking the menu carefully and asking about any additional Service Fees before ordering.

We ordered the Vermicelli with Grilled Chicken, Dry Fried Beef Chow Fun, and Gai Lan with Beef. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable. With "Hong Kong Diner" in the name, I was expecting authentic Cantonese stir-fries with good wok hei. Unfortunately, the Dry Fried Beef Chow Fun lacked that signature smoky flavor, and the texture was closer to lo fun than traditional chow fun. The Gai Lan with Beef also lacked wok hei. The outer layer of the gai lan stems had been peeled away, so the stems lost the crisp texture that makes gai lan so enjoyable. The Vermicelli with Grilled Chicken was overly tender and quite salty. It seemed to be marinated so heavily that I couldn't really taste the natural flavor of the chicken. Overall, the restaurant offers generous portions, reasonable prices, and friendly service.
