Courtney was willing to work with me during the busy season to accomplish my look. We were up at 4 A.M. with coffee and courage. I had my hair and make up done by the team at Seventh Avenue for my wedding 2 weekends ago. I did a trial with the as well. I loved my make-up artist (Katie) and hair stylist (I think Kylie). They were both super versatile and did exactly what I wanted based on photos. I'm Asian and they knew how to work my hair and face. I had to last min (they day before) cancel 2 of my make up and hair people because they were both sick before the wedding. It was not a big deal for Seventh Ave and I got half my money back (they could have just kept it all). My experience with Courtney and her team was different than I have had with other hair and makeup artists. I went for my trial run and it was done by Courtney. She appeared unprofessional at times with her conversation on other businesses. She was not the person who did my actual day of hair and makeup which I was aware of going to my trial, however I wish they ensured the trial was done with the same person for the wedding day since they use different makeup pallets, brushes, and techniques. My makeup turned out different than the trial run, but I was not unhappy with the makeup for my wedding day. The reason I rate lower is because leading up to my wedding, I asked several times for a timeline and they would not assist in a timeline, however they did tell me I'd have three artists for day of. I created my own timeline based on this so my bridesmaids would not all have to be in the room during our time. When they arrive, they advise they have two makeup artists and one that only does hair. This should have been something shared in advance or the team should have provided a timeline based on the services we were getting. I was under the impression that three artists meant three artists that do both hair and makeup,This changed the entire timeline I created because not everyone was doing hair and we had initially planned for some to do both hair and makeup at the same time. It became stressful for me having to rearrange everything I had planned with still no guidance from the team. The other reason I rate lower is because my sister and mom were unhappy with their hair and voiced it several times to the hair artist. They did their best to fix it but for some reason the hair artist continued to create tight curls with a small straightener when they all showed photos with loose curls/waves. Both of their hair lengths are slightly past their shoulders so the tight curl started to look childish. I had to eventually ask and offer my own curler that had a bigger barrel because the tight curls that she was brushing out looked messy and untamed. The hair artist began to straighten the curls which made it worse. She ended up just having to pin them back in an updo... Overall, my hair and makeup turned out nice for my wedding day. There were little things like my part not being straight, but my veil stayed all day and my makeup did not run. I just really wish the morning leading up to the wedding was something more structured and they would have provided more guidance before the day of with planning. They knew weeks in advance of what services were being done that day so they should have someone offering timelines for those brides who want one. This would ensure a less stressful day for a bride that's likely already stressed. read more

Don't bother, they told me I was not a good fit for them because I asked for basic communication through email/texts/phone calls (I'd even accept a carrier pigeon if that was faster). They will call you without notice in the middle of your work day and then take a long time to respond back. They also are very hard to schedule hair/make up trials with, so make sure to schedule that 6 months to a year in advance. They also advise that the person you do a trial with might not be the same person on your wedding day and it has to be scheduled at 09:00 or 11:00 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday only. If you can't make those times work, their response is, "well trials aren't required". What!? I went online to see if this was just my experience and it looks like they straight up missed another wedding. No wonder since you can't get a hold of anyone there. We made it extremely clear in the contract and in several emails that this was going to be an early start, and received confirmation and assurance from both Miranda and Courtney that the date and time was set. I woke up and waited 45 minutes, after calling, texting and emailing Courtney never showed up. I was forced to rush and do my own hair and makeup for my wedding and my hair was just plain for the pictures, since I didn't bring any hot tools with me on my trip.
