This occurred Wednesday, July 26, 2023 Timeline: 6:02 PM to 12:31 AM My vehicle broke down (engine completely shut off -- later to learn from my mechanic that the alternator on my 2008 Volvo failed) on the eastbound 105 freeway at 5:30 on a Wednesday evening -- peak traffic hour. I rolled to the shoulder for safety, as expected, hit my hazards and contacted AAA. The tow truck showed up at around 6:40PM; not a big deal -- however, after the driver loaded my vehicle to the flatbed, he then had to contact his dispatcher because he saw a discrepancy with the destination address on his work order and where I verbally mentioned to him where I was expecting him to tow my vehicle. While speaking over speaker, his dispatcher says that I had confirmed a local address (which was within a mile or so from I broke down) which was absolutely false, as I had NO reason to confirm any local address as my home address and mechanic were roughly 35 miles away from the tow pickup location. During said phone call, the tow contractor's dispatcher rudely barked back and stated that I in fact DID confirm the 'local' destination address during the initial courtesy call, which to provide the ETA, which again, was completely false, as I had zero reason to provide any local addresses since as previously stated, both my residence and my mechanic were about 35 miles away from where I was stranded. She (Seven Star Dispatcher) then proceeds to aggressively explain (with an unnecessary/unprofessional bad attitude) that 'since the drivers shift was over within minutes, he couldn't continue service, as well as the discrepancy of the destination address; that she would be cancelling the service call, and I'll need to contact AAA again to resubmit a new request. The tow driver was very empathetic and did apologize for my situation, and towed the vehicle to a Shell gas station on E 120th St, across the street from Killer King, which is down the street from Nickerson Gardens. Anybody who knows this area will know this ain't exactly Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood... So I ended up calling AAA from 7Pm till midnight, because, as I learned by the end of the night, that Seven Star Towing kept declining my service all evening! The last AAA agent I spoke with couldn't understand why Seven Star kept declining service -- funny enough, Seven Star appears to have been the ONLY AAA contractor available in that area -- however, the AAA agent saw this unusual pattern in my work order, so she contacted her manager to get to the bottom of this -- as she was the one who blurted out "dispatch keeps declining your service!" The AAA agent stated that her manager would personally monitor my case and take issue accordingly -- which is when I received my final AAA text update stating Seven Star was finally sending out a truck. However, as it was already midnight, I saw and flagged down an independent tow truck who was able to strap up my vehicle and get me out of dodge for a small fee. I'd really hate to think that the continual refusal of service that left me stranded from 7PM to 12 midnight where retaliatory --- as this would be seen as an incredible abuse of ones power --- but I'm willing to give Seven Star Towing the benefit of the doubt, and dismiss the bad attitude and poor service on some random glitch that prevented me from any updates or tow service for that 5-hour duration. I'd really hate to, but common sense and enough experience with human psychology tells me otherwise -- which is why I had to leave my Seven Star Towing experience on the internet for others to take heed in this company. Bad service is a trickle-down problem. "What you do has far greater impact than what you say." No matter what Seven Star's response will be about my review on them will be absolutely moot and will be superseded by my encounter with their company. Great acts are made up of small deeds, and Seven Star Towing is far beyond a good tow company -- starting with their dispatcher, as she was simply angry and callous. My insurance contracted five star towing. when i would call to follow up they would hang up the call they kept saying 1hr wait time. The dispatchers would answer my questions very rude. When i asked how much time they said " we can't control the traffic idk what time" They took my truck called me that i needed to go get it because the dealer was closed, instead of dealing with my insurance. When the dispatcher called me he said " just how you were rushing us you have to come get your car your insurance is not answering" horrible experience. Called autoclub to get my car and this tow truck showed up, failed to tell me that I would be paying to get my car towed as they have autoclub sticker on the side of their car and never once said the Chp called them to come. Told me it would be over $600 to get myself and my car home so they left with my car even though I was told they were autoclub and had the sticker on the car. This company is a total scam. I apologize for not remember the employee who helped me this morning (10/26/2019) but he was incredibly kind and professional. I am a critical care nurse and had gotten off working a 12-hour night shift. I had to come back to work the following night. I got off work, got in my car, and could not start the car. The car kept stating something was wrong with my coolant. Initially, I thought it was a battery problem but I had just gotten my car serviced for maintenance less than 4 weeks ago and was never told of a battery problem. The employee came within the 30 minutes promised to my hospital's parking garage. The plan was to tow my car then bring it back to my dealership's service center, 20 miles away. Instead of immediately towing my car, this employee assessed the situation at first. I don't know if this is general protocol for all towing companies but he realized it was a battery issue so he went on to fix that issue then recommended that I either go to the store today and buy a new battery or go to my service center as planned. He called the main office and asked that instead of charging me the $200 for the trip to the service center, to charge me the minimal fee for him coming to me. I was extremely tired but this employee remained so kind and professional. He remained patient with me when asking me questions and dealing with a delayed response from me because I hadn't slept in almost 24 hours. As someone who worked in the towing industry for5 years this was not a pleasant experience. Poor customer service, was told that they could not guarantee they could tow my truck since it was lowered, when the driver showed up he said the alley was hard to access. When I shared with him that I've had plenty of tow trucks pick up and drop off vehicles he just said it was up to whatever the dispatch decided. Dispatch said if vehicle is being picked up from an alley the vehicle must be driven out to the street. Overall it just sounded like they are an incompetent tow service that wasn't interested in getting the job done. I had a positive experience with Seven Star Towing. They accommodated my last minute request for an evening tow from the LAPD lot, and towed it to my place in Shoaks for a competitive price. Very communicative and understanding through the whole process, which I appreciate, considering everything else about getting hit by a lane-splitting motorcycle in LA has been total bullshit. The only snag was that I asked them to send a wheel-lift truck so I could get my disabled car into the parking area behind my building, and they didn't have one available so they dispatched a flatbed instead. I had gotten my car towed and the driver mentioned I needed my Audi plugged in with electricity or the tires would lock up. When he pulled my car onto the flat bed he ripped off a piece of my rear bumper then dismissed it. When my car was getting dropped off he let the car drop without letting me plug in my battery charger to let the wheels move. That caused my suspension to get ruined. When I got my car turned on at the mechanics I noticed my dash board had a suspension warning light. I made a report to get it fixed and the towing company dismissed it. After the tow I noticed my car slams when I go over small speed bumps and it really sucks because I just bought this car. It was running smooth and Audi a8's have great suspension but now after the tow I have to be really careful because my car hits dips and potholes harsh. It slams now and it upsets so I'm not trying to think about it. Also the tow driver told me just to sign something on an electronic device which he claimed was just saying he towed the car. The company said it was a liability waiver which is nuts because I wouldn't have signed anything. My tow truck drivers name is Juan and the towing company is really shady, I would avoid getting towed by them if you care about your vehicle. If you do get towed please record everything or else they might screw you over like they screwed me. Have a great day and be careful who you trust with your vehicle. I was in a terrible situation w/AAA who had me waiting for for almost 4hrs to get my car towed to my mechanic. Finally got the idea to call a tow company myself and see if they can do it and bill AAA... so I called the first place that popped up on my Google search. They said they accepted AAA (yay!)... Unfortunately they said it had to be routed by AAA. BUT lucky me after x-amt. of calls to AAA, they finally took the info. of this tow company and were able to get them on their way. I use my vehicle going from job to job for my employment, and my car broke down in front of my employer's client's home. I sat there 5 1/2 hours waiting for them to come, after they quoted me a 75 min timeframe. It was not only embarrassing, it was frustrating; especially since my car started before they showed up, so I didn't actually even get towed by them. Terrible, the tow truck driver damaged my car while dropping my car off at a mechanic shop. One of the mechanics seen he was tearing up my car and had to assist him with taking my car iff the truck. They do not want to reimburse me for the damages I had to pay for caused by the driver that had no clue what he was doing. AAA were the ones that sent them. read more

My father and I were helped by Raul who was quite possibly the nicest and most helpful person I've ever met. He was careful in hooking my father's vehicle up to tow and triple checked everything in the process. He had a very positive attitude and was very respectful to us even though he didn't get the same in return from my father who was just having a bad day.
