Great place to have brunch or even lunch. The poached eggs were superb. They had perfect amount of soft yolk to run over the sweet potato rosti. Perfect eggs are important for brunch. What I also loved about the menu is that there are heaps of options. The staff are lovely and there is a cute feel about the place that makes you want to come back. Which I will be.

Porcini mushroom with brown butter sauce gnocchi. Never in my life had I ever eaten a gnocchi as smooth as eating marshmallow!

What a cute place! Had a porcini mushroom gnocchi. The best hommade gnocchi ever! It's like eating a marshmallow. Even though it was a drizzling day, the atmosphere + this dish made up for it.

"It's the best bar in Bondi!" they claimed, "It's a proper bar." We weren't enjoying ourselves at Ravesis so I gave in and followed them down to the end of Glenayr Avenue where the fun runs out - the end that there's no point going to unless there's sports on at the Beach Road Hotel. Outside this dull grey newly-built building there were groups of people sat and talking, and inside there were tunes pumping, cold beer and eclectic furniture crowded with beautiful people. I realised I would have to raise my game and wiped the sooky grimace off my face and we ordered a few beers at the bar. The beers were cold and we gathered some mis-matched chairs into a corner and ended up lost in conversation, only momentarily distracted when super-hot six-foot blondes walked up to the bar. And this is the good thing about Bad Mama, it's not the super-hot six-foot blondes, or the great food. It's the fact that you forget you're there - you're enveloped by the bar, not left perched in the middle of some massive empty bar which is so typical of the Bondi bar scene. On the face of it you know that this is a brand new constructed space, but when you're inside you're sucked in by the interior design and the lighting such that you forget and you could be in a bar in Hoxton Square or Hackney. Five stars - I'll be back!

After waiting in the cue to bring the full glass back, the female bartender at the time accused us of lying and insulting her intelligence without considering the taste of the drink. She then told us either drink it or pay for another. I never use these things to comment on bars, and being an ex bartender I fully understand errors happen and they can be fixed. However, this service and behavior was so poor I'll never go back from this experience.

They have out door couches to lounge on. Chairs and tables to sit and eat. You can easily sit and relax away a good couple of hours here. My friends and I got here after we had left our luggage at our rental. And sat here what it seems like a week. We sat down and had a bite to eat. The fish and chips. They are amazing. We found this beer called Summer. And it was $25 Aussie for a bucket. Not bad. We hung out for about an hour. Then we decided to hit the water. So we decided to ask where we could get sunblock. And they brought over Carla. She was our savior. The sun is very hot here. We hit the water and came back after a little sun cooking. We stepped up our buckets. We stayed there until we left. Day 2 we did a lot of the same. We kept a ritual of just stopping by and having a bite and beers. The weekend is off the hook. Very busy. All day and all night. But they close at 12. Everyone and anyone is there. People celebrating the weekend to people out for bachelorette parties. Also birthday parties to small wedding reception. On Monday Feb. 12,2018 we were there just enjoying a bite and a couple beers. We weren't going to stay long. It wasn't too busy. Which was nice after the weekend. Then all of a sudden. All these well nicely dressed people started to show up. We new it was some type of party. But not for who or what. Girls/ Ladies dressed to impress. And impressed we were. Guys somewhat dresss nice also. Some better than others. And all of a sudden 3 guys in these bright loud jump suits. We were like huh? Then they decided to get on the microphone. Just being. Loud. It was my turn to get a pitcher of the passion fruit mojito. Which is really good. Don't judge. But when in Aussie. Drink like the Aussies. I asked one of the guys in the suits. What's up with suits. He said. Trying to get attention. They were going to have a fundraiser for Brain Cancer Awareness. I told him. He was doing a great thing. Not knowing that lot of the people there were celebrities. It's not like we watch Aussie tv everyday. Ok we did while on vacation. But still. How are we to spot tv actors and movie star actors. Then they sent out their ladies to sell raffle tickets. It was Bianca Zouppas. And another great looking actress. Sorry didn't get her name. But if you know who she is. Go ahead and let us know. Anyways. How could we say no to them. We weren't going to. It's a good cause. But they did get us to buy more tickets. We also got into the fun of the auction. I ended up winning a bat. For only $300. And after mingling with everyone. It was a great night. This place gave up their inside area for an event that raised some good money. This place has a staff that is not only great looking. But have the best attitude I've been to in years. Probably the best in all the world. Guys and girls. Both treated us with great respect and were always professionals. Staff was fun and always helpful. If you ever visit Bondi Beach. Stop by and try their Mojitos and their food. And the people watching is very good also. So Mates don't wait. Or you might have to stand in line in the sun.

There is no shortage of places to check out across the main street but I wanted to grab some grub at a joint off the hustle and bustle of the main street as I tend to uncover good food with less crowding. I went down Gould and after a bit of twist and turns I stumbled upon Neighbourhood as they were beginning to open up for lunch. The joint itself has some seating outside and then a bar the moment you walk in with some high tops on the left side. They also have more tables in the back of the restaurant but I wanted to catch all the action and people watch so chose a table near the front with a view of the windows. The bartenders and waitress were super friendly here and they struck up lively conversation as I perused the menu. This joint offers up a standard menu with a bunch of entrees and appetizers but also seems to offer a bbq type menu in the back which seems to be limited supply. I was not looking to get stuffed completely but instead wanted some bites so focused my attention on the entrees and appetizers. The menu here has a Louisiana or dirty south feel to it which was a welcome sight for me cos who can hate on a delicious piece of fried chicken. I started by perusing the drinks menu and my attention was caught by the "Hood's Zombie" because it said strictly one per customer next to it. I mean who can turn down a drink that is limited to one per person. The drink is packed with a lot of adult goodness including absinthe and I thought was delicious. It's a shame because I really wanted a second one.. but I digress. For the grub, we decided to have an order of the fried chicken and the tater tots with cheese and jalapeno. Clearly going for the healthy lunch. The tots were out and they were nice and crisp with the bacon being a delicious protein on top. I wish they had put more jalapenos but the ones I was able to snag were a delicious plus on the tots. The chicken was next and it was tender and juicy with the skin being fried to a nice light crisp. The aioli sauce they provide is a nice accompaniment to the chicken and provides flavor complexity. All in all, this is a great spot and I can see it be hopping at night with their drink menus, friendly service, and upscale bar food. Definitely a positive in my book and worth recommending to those in the Bondi area.

I practically expected the Cheers theme to commence at any moment (although it would have been drowned out by the resident DJ). And so much of Neighbourhood is just right. The fit out, the cocktail list (and execution), the gourmet comfort food (special shout outs to the wings and the mac 'n' cheese), the various seating options - it's the exact kind of place everyone wants to live down the street from and I have no doubt that with an offering this solid, this spot will make a permanent mark on Bondi's dining and nightlife scene. It will also likely make a permanent mark on my waistline, but that's another story. The one thing they still need to sort out is the service. While it's clear these guys were hustling - literally running from the back to the front of the restaurant like they were at Olympic time trials - getting them to stop by our table was an Olympic feat in itself. It quickly evolved from the head-turned, intense eye-staring, use-the-force tactics to the hand-waving, credit card hurling, star jumping methods. Finally, we just had to head to the nearest register to get their attention. The place was packed, so it was not due to a lack of hard work, but rather a kink in server sectioning, perhaps. I predict you'll find me here during their quieter hours, saddled up at the bar with a fresh squeezed blood orange juice and a big basket of wings.

I asked about the drinks and he said, "It's Happy Hour on margaritas. They are $10 instead of $21." I said, "Great, can I order please?" He replied, "I will send someone to take your order." About a minute later a waitress came and we ordered a round of margaritas. Later on, we ordered another round. When we asked to pay the bill at the end, we were surprised to see our bill was more than double what we expected. I asked, "Why are all the margaritas charged at $21?" She replied, "The coconut and pineapple margaritas are not included on Happy Hour, only classic margaritas." We then explained the conversation we had with the barman upon entry and pointed out the barman who told us all the margaritas were $10. The response we received was, "Well, he doesn't know." The point we were politely making is that the barman is their staff member, he told us about the offer, and that is why we bought the drinks. "He doesn't know" is not a valid excuse when it is your own staff member providing pricing information to customers. Under Australian Consumer Law, businesses are responsible for representations made by their staff. This situation involves breaches of Australian Consumer Law, including Section 18 (misleading or deceptive conduct), Section 29(1)(i) (false or misleading representations about price), and Section 48 (failure to clearly disclose pricing and exclusions). The waitress's lack of customer service skills at this point was quite clear and she may have been new to the industry. I paid under protest, as the charge had already been processed before the receipt was provided. The receipt later confirmed that the incorrect amount had been charged. I said at the time that I would write to the manager to sort it out, as we expected that the manager of a venue would have the experience, professionalism, and basic understanding of Australian Consumer Law to resolve a clear staff error. An email was sent to INFO@donpedros.com.au , but no response has been received. I also requested that the manager review the venue's surveillance footage to listen to the original conversation, which would help with staff training and prevent this from happening again. Unfortunately, the manager/owner has still not sorted out the issue. If a guest is treated this way after a clear staff error, it says a lot about how a venue operates.

Unicycle, posters about nagging wife, tanks from a motor cycle other random assorted junk and posters with no cohesive theme or vision. It screams lazy owner/operator who needed to decorate it so they went to a garage sale or a 2nd hand junk store and slapped trash on the wall to call it good enough. All of this would be excusable IF the food was good. Which I was not. They were strangely overstaffed but they looked irritated to see us walk in. The food looks nothing like the pictures. We had the civiche, the grilled scallops and the garlic prawns. The civiche was prepared improperly and we were scared to eat it. There was ZERO citrus so immediately we knew not a civiche. It was thin long sashimi slices of fish served with the slightest few drops of what I would say as a watery cilantro liquid, a chimichuri ordered from wish or Temu if you will. The fish smelled a little but we chalked it up to clearly being frozen. We ate it and the best I can say is we didn't get sick. The prawns were clearly frozen from a bag psychotically over cooked with the consistency of a old leather shoe. They tasted of nothing but were....edible. The problem and when we gave up and left was the grilled scallops. The first plate of scallops they brought us didn't look right upon inspection they were completely raw and uncooked never touched a grill or hot surface, stone cold. When we brought this to the servers attention he was clearly pretty upset with us for complaining. He took away the plate of raw and later brought back another plate of scallops which did have color from cooking but the smell of it was clear these previously frozen scallops had turned and they had turned a while ago. When we cut into them they were stringy and mushy as if they had started to rot. We each tried a bite and immediately had to spit it out as the fish was clearly bad to the point it left a singing bitter fishy foul flavor on the pallet. We asked for the check and to have the scallops removed from the bill. The server refused to remove the scallops because they prepared it twice for us AS IF THAT WASNT THEIR MISTAKE. We explained they tasted foul and clearly expired at best. He pointed to another table insisting we couldn't be correct because that couple ate the same scallops (Thoughts and prays to thar couple) as if that meant anything. We had a brief discussion where we explained we were from a beach town had eaten scallops our whole lives and knew what they should look, feel and taste like and he stated he wasn't the owner and they made us two plates and he was doing us a favor by not double charging us for them. I think he could see how upset we were and by that point we had attracted the attention of some other patrons. He discounted us $10 but that was only 1/2 the cost of the scallops.
