Parking in the street is a bit of a nightmare but it is worth going around the block and popping into a side street. There is ample seating out the from with the gas heaters but we were soooo cold we opted for indoors. We were here well after three but they were still serving lunch and it looked pretty good. Our needs were coffee and something sweet. It didn't disappoint, very nice coffee and really good biscotti. With plenty of competition in the area the baristas and the pastry cooks need to be on their game. We will definitely detour here for lunch one day. read more

Cucina espresso located in the leafy suburb of Concord and is only 20 minutes from the Sydney CBD. Although not a suburb you'd usually pass through unless you live in the area, Cucina Espresso is definitely worth making an effort to visit. The cafè is very popular with locals, we arrived mid morning on a Sunday and the cafe was thriving with customers. We initially sat inside and waited for a table outside, with the staff accomodating when it became available. A delightful place to sit and enjoy our breakfast. It was a rainy day, but luckily kept dry by the overhead awnings. The owners very hospitable to everyone visiting their cafe and I understand why locals would keep coming back. We were informed it would be about 30-40 minutes wait due to the high volume of guests but we could order a drink while we waited. It's great to be informed. It also didn't take that long to get our food. The menu is extremely extensive and something for everyone, healthy options, a huge range of baked eggs and also sweet and decadent choices too. There is a wide range for lunch, but on this occasion we sampled the breakfast menu. In a group, we were lucky to be able to share a few different items from the menu. A lighter choice to start with - the 'buckinis' or granola clusters with yoghurt and fruit, beautifully arranged and quite colourful. This was followed by a breakfast burger with brioche bread and was very reasonably priced. We were impressed by the beetroot cured salmon done in house, sitting atop avocado served on pane di casa an Italian style of bread. Then came the stars of the show; the famous baked eggs. Unlike any baked eggs you've seen before, the Italian styled baked eggs are huge and they have five varieties. The hearty Uovo Bolognese e Piselli which is eggs poached in a beef bolognese sauce with peas, grana padano cheese and buffalo mozzarella served with pane di casa. Our favourite being the Uovo Cotto - it was eggs baked in a creamy white sauce with porchini mushroom, black truffle, potato mash and shaved grana padano cheese, topped with crispy bacon shreds and pane di casa - the taste was equivalent to a carbonara. Both were huge sizes so very reasonable for the price. On my next visit id like to try the one with pork fennel sausage. The Nutella pancakes were another great option recommended if you have a sweet tooth. You definitely get your nutella fix with these, not only were they topped with nutella, it was also in the pancake mixture too. This was served with vanilla gelato, strawberries and fresh mint. No fuss decor, Italian vibe to the styling and the counter also sells some goods to go. Great food on offer here and we certainly recommend a visit and in particular the baked eggs as a must. read more

So Majors Bay Rd has recently exploded with new cafes and restaurants. And Cucina is one of the new ones just to appear. This cafe is good, but not the best on the road. I have to honestly say the saving grace is that Papas provide the cakes here. The coffee is average and absolutely nothing special. The only interesting thing is their selection of tea - I had a Japanese lime green tea, which was extremely different. The food is what you would expect from a suburban cafe, but again nothing special - specifially has you have a lot of different places right next door. read more

Majors Bay Road has really become a bit of a food hub. I started exploring the area last weekend and Cucina looked very promising - Bustling with customers, with large servings of food coming out from the back. Perfect first impression. I noticed some negative reviews, so maybe I am lucky, but I found the ricotta pancakes incredible! Spongey, creamy, and delicious, I normally would not be able to finish a stack of pancakes myself but this was effortless. This probably says more about my gluttony than the actual pancakes though. We also ordered a savory dish, avocado and mushroom crostini with poached eggs - Also delicious. Coffee was a lighter blend than most. However, I really enjoyed this meal and would recommend anyone to check it out. read more

This is my local cafe but i'll let you come too because it's pretty great. This cafe has a loyal group of regulars who come for breakfast/lunch or pick up coffees each morning. The reason they are so loyal is the beautiful food and great coffee they pump our day after day. The glass cabinet as you walk in boasts cakes, take home sauces/meals and cookies. The kitchen provides a wide array of italian inspired meals which from my tasting are delicious. the baristas produce consistent coffee for coffee lovers. The place is on the average to pricy side... breakfast 14-25$. The place is pretty big with a large outdoor area, two indoor area and a small private area by the kitchen. The decor includes a lot of wood paneling but still looks modern and open. In my opinion the best cafe on the strip. read more

You may have seen Cucina Espresso in Sydney Weekender recently. By popular demand, Cucina Espresso have made some recent breakfast specials a permanent fixture to the menu so I had to come by and check it out. There are tables outside and also inside if you prefer. I opt for a table outside so we can enjoy the fresh air. Owner, Rocco and the other staff are really busy and warn us and other patrons that it's an approximate 30-40 minute wait. I didn't mind as I sipped on my french earl grey tea. The staff tell us that they regularly get feedback and have recently added the house specials to the menu. These dishes are quite unique and I haven't seen them elsewhere at other cafes. My favourite dish from the house specials - best described as Cabonara Baked Eggs - The absolute must order is the Uovo Cotto which are baked eggs in a creamy white sauce with porcini mushroom, black truffle, potato mash and shaved grana padano cheese with bacon and bread ($19.50). There is something incredibly comforting and satisfying about that white creamy sauce and eggs. It's incredibly tasty and you won't want to share as you dip the bread into the potato mash and bacon. I had breakfast at this cafe this morning. I ordered ricotta hotcakes that on the menu were said to come with strawberries, and cost $16. When it came out it was ONE hotcake, TWO strawberries and ricotta. This was MORE than disappointing! When a menu describes a dish as HOTCAKES, plural, I expect more than ONE pancake. Side note, our table was wobbly and we were charged extra for soy milk; I don't care if its normal practice to be charged extra for soy, there is no reasonable logic that it should. Don't bother with this place especially when there are so many better places to eat on Major Bays Rd. read more

Amazing Italian cuisine in a lovely bright location in concord with easy parking and a strong local following. Customer service is highly attentive. The food is delicious and fresh and the menu has a lot of variety so there is something for everyone. Be rest assured all the ingredients used here is seasonal and authentic with strong emphasis on beautiful rich flavours. I highly recommend the handmade gnocchi - it's like eating soft pillows of potato heaven. The coffee here is the Little marionette. read more
