After all the talk about Seven Moons coming to Coventry I visited this restaurant about a week after it opened. I sat at the bar and noticed all the bar tables were left uncleared and no sign of a manager or host. The young bartender was trying but clearly was struggling. Not because it was busy. Just that she seemed new and learning. That was fine. The bar was literally freezing. After about 10-15 minutes of sitting there unrecognized and no heat, I knew this was simply going to be a meal and night I would regret. I got up, left and drove down to Dragon Palace where the food and service are great. I can't imagine how or why an "Owner" would put so much time and effort into opening, and so badly not seem to care about even the most basic details. read more

My husband and I went there for the first time tonight. While we were waiting three other customers walked out and said that their food was cold and they asked for knives 15 mins ago from their server. The service was disorganized and the host didn't know what he was doing the menu was confusing and they didn't have sushi on the menu, no bread was served and the silverware they give you is a fork and spoon only, it was very over priced and the quantity of the food really wasn't satisfactory.when we received our check we didn't get any fortune cookies, the lights wee flickering all the time we were there eating like there was a power surge like the electric system was under rated. It wasn't a friendly atmosphere there and everyone was yelling at each other. We will never go there again read more

Well unfortunately this is not a good representation of the 7 Moons in NK. I know it's a new restaurant but most people are in love with the original so look forward to the same experience. First off the waitress didn't know the menu, the decor was minimal and their music wasn't authentic but rather the radio full of commercials. Food- no sushi!! I expected to be transported in 7 Moons style- but walked into just another Asian restaurant. Then I love the soups at the other 7 Moons and here it was served luke warm at best. The shrimp Shumai came out ice cold!!! It was like they were taken out of the freezer and put on the plate! I sent it back and never seen it again. Not a great start!! The edamame was ok. The wait for the food in a mediocre busy restaurant was not ok!! Then the entrees arrived and the taste was there. Super delicious but then again I had 3-4 cold bites of food! Oh not good. Needless to say I will travel the extra 20 minutes and head to NK. And if You are reading this I would do the same!!! read more

Was in tbe mood for Chinese appetizers and on my first takeout visit I was pleasamtly greeted by the owner. I ordered crab ragoons which were crispy and quite delicious. Egg rolls and spring rolls were fresh but only average tasting. Homemade hot sauce was very good but the duck sauce was watery. Order was promptly prepared hot. There were fortune cookies contrary to previous reviews. I will try an entree also next time. read more

We were excited to have Seven Moons open up in Coventry as we have always been fans of the original location in North Kingstown. Seven Moons Coventry just opened on Tuesday so we decided to give them a few days to work out the kinks. We ordered take- out tonight and it being their first Saturday since opening it was busy! The staff is new so they are definitely in learning mode but they were friendly and helpful. They definitely did a lot of renovation work inside and it looks very welcoming and a warm setting. We tried the Won Ton Soup, seaweed salad, Singapore noodles, Chicken Fried Rice, and the Moo Shu Chicken. The Won Ton soup was delicious and tastes no different than their other location, seaweed salad the same, fresh and well seasoned. The Moo Shu Chicken was awesome, the best flavor of all of the dishes but sadly they forgot to give us the pancakes! The fried rice was tasty as well, again as good as the North Kingstown location. The only dish that was just okay was the Singapore noodles, just a little to dry as it lacked sauce Overall, we were definitely happy and glad they are finally open! As Gordon Ramsay would say " everything was cooked to sh##" They clearly lack experience in the kitchen. The crap ragoons were so translucent you could see through them and they were not deep fried not long enough . Crap! not crab .. The general tsos tasted like taste of china very non aunthentic and dont get me started on the beef terriaki it had a slimy coating and were not marinated at all!!!! The rice was crunchy and not cooked well enough. Unless they dont get there heads out of there as#es i give this place 3 months tops and it will be out of buisness. Sing the previous owner of this place had a little more passion and flavor than this dump and that doesnt say much because even his cooks and recipes were mediocre. My girlfriend and I were anticipating the opening of seven moons in Coventry. We went to the one in North Kingston a few years ago and had a great dinner/experience. We ordered take-out from the new one in Coventry and were disappointed in the portion sizes!! Very, very, disappointed in the size of the rice portion, it couldn't have been more than a 1/2 cup cooked. I ordered the Country Bean Curd and it didn't come with any rice and was also on the small side. Anyhow, the food was pretty good, hence the 3 stars but the portion sizes were below adequate. :-( No fortune cookies, sauces, etc... guess I should have asked. The prices are also definitely on the higher side, especially given the portion sizes. read more

Stopped in for lunch....our first visit to this location and wow, are we glad we did! Freddie the Manager was so personable, service was excellent and the food was fantastic! We had the Crab Rangoon (the best around), Combination Pad Thai, the Ronin Roll and the Moon Roll while sipping on the Moon-Tai....We will definitely be keeping this place on our list of places to frequent! read more

Recently went there on a date, and the food was fantastic! From the hot and sour soup, to the crispy thai wings, to the General Tso's chicken (with the three pieces of brocolli which is enough for most people). The service was top notch. Our waitress checked in with us frequently to see if we needed anything else. I'd suggest people that complain about things like the price, or lack of fortune cookies, should probably stick to chinese buffets. Asian cuisine might not be suited for you. read more

Went for the First time last night for take out. New Location Coventry. They have no combination dishes which I thought was odd. I ordered lo mein , dumplings and chicken wings. Which was $32.00 kinda pricey came with no rice no fortune cookies and sauces were odd tasting. I definitely won't be going back. And the portion were VERY small for the prices they are charging, they need to increase amount per serving.I was very disappointed. And the Decor is awful looks like they just wanted to open in a hurry not cozy I would not want to eat in there. read more

I recently visit this restaurant for dinner, the food was delicious. I checked with the manager and we made a plan to book a birthday party at the restaurant. Within 1 week they easily handled my party of 30+ people including decorations and fantastic food. We ordered General Tso Chicken, Veggie Fried Rice, Garlic Shrimp, Chicken Low Mein, Spring Rolls and S&S Chicken. Everything was professionally served, hot, fresh and delicious. Terrible. Read all the poor reviews thinking maybe it's a new place so it might e experiencing growing pains. Wrong. We ate in the bar area and it has a strange vibe, like you're hanging out in a finished basement. Odd lighting and, again, slow service. The food was nothing great and NOTHING like Seven Moons in NK. The menu is not the same and dishes with the same name/description as the NK Seven Moons are not either. Since this was another Chinese restaurant prior to become Seven Moons my guess is nothing changed other than the name. Bill was about a $100 for the two of us, not outrageous if it were good but I would but we could have had the same meal for closer to $50 at another place in EG. read more

AWFUL! It doesn't even deserve 1 star! This place took over what used to be Mai Tai. I ate there once and never went back. My friend suggested we try Seven Moons as the one in NK got great reviews. I always order sweet and sour chicken when out for Chinese. This place doesn't have any combos, so you pay an arm and a leg for whatever you order. I also ordered veg. Lo mein (full plate as they don't offer small or lg options). I figured I'd bring the leftovers home. The S&S chx was the EXACT chicken that Mai Tai served. It was gross! All batter and no chx. The lo mein was okay. I had several bites, then decided to put the rest in the box. As I was scooping it into the box, I noticed a very long piece of brown hair ( I am a blond). It the waitress quite a while to come over to the table ( the place was empty, only two other couples). I pointed out the hair and she got defensive saying it wasn't hers. I told her I wasn't accusing her, but there was a hair, that clearly wasn't mine underneath my food (gag). She gets the manager who proceeds to tell me they have strict policies about cleanliness. He was actually holding the hair and playing with it. He then tells me that my waitress has black hair and this hair is not black. I told him I wasn't accusing anyone and that it clearly want mine or my friends as we are BOTH blond. I said it could have just been on the plate already, as it was on the bottom UNDER MY FOOD. He continued to argue with me and tell me that they have a very large successful business in North Kingstown. I told him I did t care about NK as I found the hair in my food in Coventry! He told me he would give me discount. He took $2 off the bill. I should have walked out without paying! And to top it off, we didn't even get fortune cookies!!! Tried it out for the first time, they are new in town here. Portions are small and I like to have some for later or the next day. It is expensive about 25 dollars a person and you get no white rice. The food served here is top rate so no complaints there. I would have to say the food was better than what you can get locally so less trips for this kind of food for the cost but next time I want Chinese food I would go here again. Probably the white rice would have got that last star lol. read more

I have visited Seven Moons in North Kingstown many times, I was reading the reviews and like many other people I was hoping it would be as good as the North Kingstown restaurant. It was not. First of all when we walked in we immediately noticed how cold it was. We even said something to the waitress and she said yeah I think it just didn't get warm enough yet. We were there after 12pm. We ordered two waters and a Nim Chow to start. No sushi available. They came out pretty quickly but the waitress delivered it and didn't give us any plates, we had to ask for them. We ordered 2 luncheon specials which came with soup. We each got egg drop soup. The soup was greasy and almost thick like gravy. It also wasn't very hot at all. Neither one of us ate more than a couple of spoonfuls of the soup. Our lunch specials came out, and mine was wrong. I told the waitress that's not what I ordered and then she said to me yes it was. We had to ask for salt and pepper and for soy sauce. What kind of an Chinese restaurant doesn't have soy sauce on the table? We also had to ask twice for extra napkins. The food was not good at all. The chicken skewers were dry, the rice tasted like it had been cooked two days before. It was very gummy tasting and you didn't get a very big portion at all. I mean come on rice is cheap. My lunch special came with pork strips and there were literally like a tablespoon of them and they were all burnt and dried out. The two chicken wings that came with that were also dry. On top of it all none of it was hot. There was only two other tables of people in there and they still managed to bring us cold food. When we went to pay they wouldn't take my Seven Moons gift card they said I could only use it at the North Kingstown location. Well that's fine with me because I will never go back to the Coventry location. This place is nothing like NK. Like I've seen other people post I don't have much hope for a future for this place if they keep on doing what they're doing. What a disappointment. read more

Disorganized Went there last night and food was cold, the staff did not know the menu. We ordered Roasted Pork with Mixed Vegetable and Moo Shu Chicken, brought us the Roasted Pork, told us it was Moo Shu Chicken the waitress thought we never got the Roasted Pork so they reordered us the same item and we ended up with 2 Roasted Pork, and cold Moo Shu by the she figured it out and arrived at our table. The kitchen ran out of rice, don't know how since they serve about 1/2 cup of rice. No serving spoons/forks, no condiments like duck sauce, hot mustard, etc... my husband asked for a water refill and ordered a Diet Coke, neither came and we were charged for the soda. No sushi on the menu, no fortune cookies, no bread...staff is not trained on menu and the kitchen can't keep up. People were walking out and a woman came out the bathroom asking for toilet paper and the host gave her a handful of paper napkins. She looked horrified. So this was our 2nd time trying Seven Moons and the first time was just as unsatisfactory as the 1st time. My family and I always love to try the new restaurants in town to go for something different but that was a mistake. We had ordered beef teriyaki, house fried rice, general tso's chicken and wanton soup. Everyone was unsatisfied with their meal. The beef teriyaki didn't really have much of a teriyaki flavor but instead was full of a ginger like flavor that was unusual and unsatisfying. The house fried rice was rather plain and very dry. The wanton soup came without crispy croutons. Also, the general tso's was very disappointing with not only the sauce but the portion size was very small. Usually me and my dad split an order but it was only enough for one of us. Also, there was only 3 pieces of broccoli in the general tso's, you'd think they could give you an actual good portion. Lastly, what Chinese place doesn't give you fortune cookies with your meal for take out? They really have dropped the ball on this place. Just left this dump and I have to say one of the worst experiences of my life. The waitress (Kathy) was the worst. We waited for and hour for food and it came out one dish at a time, 15 min apart of each other. When we confronted the waitress about it she threw the cooks under the bus. She was the most miserable person I have ever seen. A girl I was with asked to see the manager and was told he was at the bar and was probably busy. We walked up to the front desk to pay and she complained to the manager who came out for another reason and he didn't give a crap that there were 5 tables that wanted to see him. This is the first time I have ever walked out of a restaurant without tipping. Stay far away as possible! And I am not kidding. Hopefully that miserable girl will be unemployed by tomorrow! I shook when I walked in because it used to be the Mai Tai which was closed many time for health reasons and I can't see that place lasting with staff like that. read more
