Service was good, and I appreciate the recommendations when it comes to pastries. I actually didn't end up getting any because I couldn't choose, and opted for a latte instead. The latte was pretty good, and I appreciate the paper straws. The area felt very safe and was in walking distance to a few other stops on my trip I had that day. The shop was very clean and the worker was nice. The place wasn't that crowded, so you can get some work done if you work from your computer. Touched down after a red eye and def needed caffeine. Seven grams was walking distance fork our hotel so gave it a try. It's upbeat and has a pop like vibe. They had a lot of fun specials like cherry foam match and brown butter latte. Hubby went for the matcha and it was pretty good. The cherry gives it a nice sweetness. I had the tiramisu latte with oat milk and honestly was not impressed. It's kind of bitter and I don't really taste what makes it tiramisu. I'm really impressed with their pastries tho. We came in with my girlfriends after taking the puppy yoga class around the corner. Honestly we just wanted to grab some coffee, but what we found was better! I ordered my regular - a match, and my friends had coffees. There was so many treats to choose from! We each got one pastry and shared as a little taste test. A chocolate cookie, that was soft and basically melted in your mouth, a mini pizza scone!!!!!!!!! DELICIOUS!!! LIKE WHAT?!?!? And a blueberry scone, which was the best because it wasn't that sweet at all. Everything was so so gooooooooooooood. I would love to come back to try more. The service was quick for being midday. There was a decent amount of seating but can get filled rather quickly. However, their apple cider walnut cookie - FANTASTIC. Rating of 2 is based only on the taste of matcha only and not for the coffee! My cousin had tried one of the hot tiramisu coffee and it was good so don't knock the coffee at this caffe I got a matcha for $8.55 with oat milk and honestly it just tasted like flat out milk which is really really disappointing. I normally try to finish my matcha even though they don't taste good but I ended up just throwing it away. I was so sad because spending $8+ is matcha is expensive that tasted like flat out oat milk. You can obviously tell by the color of how it came out. Upon waiting for matcha, I did do a second purchase of the matcha cookies which came out to about $17 or $18 because I had fear of missing out when my cousin's wife had bought some for a gift for him!!! It was good but I don't think I would buy it again. It does say to warm it for it so maybe I'll try it warmed up and come back and edit this review. One of my coworkers brought in one of their brown butter, chocolate chip cookies, and it was so good that I had to stop in for myself. It was so cold outside, so I thought a hot coffee would be really good. I ended up going with the pumpkin spice latte which was tasty, but it was very crumbly towards the bottom. I think it was from the spices that are put into it, but regardless, it was really good. I also got the gingerbread cookie and the red velvet cookie and they were really good but I like the brown butter chocolate chip one a lot better. I stopped in to Seven Grams this morning with a friend to grab a coffee before a walk on the High Line. It came as a recommendation from Holly K who had been there the day prior, and of course, there are plenty of reviews that back up that rec too! We met around 7:30am and there wasn't much a line... We ordered our drinks and hydrated a bit with the readily available water while we waited, but it didn't take long. I had my beautiful "flat white with oat milk" in hand within just a few minutes and I was happy... I may have been even happier had I also picked up a pastry or cookie. I'll have to do that next time - or maybe even consider ordering a package of them to be shipped to me at home! This is a little cafe, but there is a fair amount of seating inside. Service was friendly and I believe there is also wifi available. PLEASE NOTE: This was for nationwide shipping. An updated review just a few months later, because I actually love their "ooey-gooey, hand-crafted, and baked fresh to order" vegan cookies. A while back, I had bought cookies from several different businesses that ship all at the same time. Initially, the Seven Grams one didn't stand out compared to the others, but... I have now sent these cookies to friends for birthdays and have repurchased cookies for myself to keep my freezer full. Sooooo CLEARLY it's love! Much of my original review still stands: The Vegan Cookie & Cold Brew Bundle is a perfect gift for people who love sugar and caffeine. From their website: "The adult version of milk and cookies, and the perfect warm-weather combo: a bottle of our cold brew concentrate and six of our famous ooey-gooey vegan tahini and olive oil chocolate chip cookies." The packaging for this is perfect. The cold brew wasn't leaking as it was wrapped up pretty tightly, and the stacked cookies came in a pull out box. I also appreciated that the communication from ordering to eating (my cookies came with a card on how to reheat them) was faultless. While I don't like their coffee (I actually did find it both bitter and overwhelmingly strong), the cookies are SO GOOD. I would definitely encourage you to place them in the oven for 2 to 4 minutes at 350° (which is Seven Grams recommendation -- I have also microwaved a frozen one for a few five second intervals). I still don't really notice any tahini or olive oil flavor and the cookies are admittedly always pretty greasy (from the oil? just have a paper towel handy to rest them on). The total, as of writing this, for the cookies and coffee is $68 (free shipping on orders over $55). AND they have limited edition flavors which I didn't originally know about. So now I've got both the original chocolate chip AND the (vegan) triple chocolate cookies in my freezer for cookie emergency kind of days (IYKYK). read more

Very cute location! Staff was friendly. They had some seating indoors. I got the specialty matcha latte which was a tirimisu latte. I had asked the girl working if it was more matcha or coffee flavored and she said that there was no coffee that it was just an iced Matcha with a mascarpone cream top and some vanilla syrup so I was like OK that actually sounds really good. I could not taste any Matcha flavor at all but the vanilla cream was good. It just was really really sweet which I wouldn't of liked it as sweet. I've tried a bunch of the famous ones and yes there are a plethora of GOOD COOKIES but these guys with their variety of flavors and the texture has won best cookies for ME. If you love a gooey melty cookie and crispy soft exterior, this is FOR YOU. They are abhorrently priced at almost 7 dollars a pop which is absolutely quite a bit more than their competitors but for the fun random flavors they drop once in a blue moon, it's worth the splurge once in a while just to have the experience. My personal favorite of the four types I've tried was the cookies and cream. That was a beautiful cookie and was almost liquid when I pulled it apart despite it having no longer been warm. Got the taste of cream cheese/cheesecake with the more bitter chocolate to balance the sweetness. It was fantastic. Nocciola had gotten cold so the nocciola wasn't melty but flavor was strong. The caramel espresso was my least favorite and I would just skip that one, it had more coffee flavor than anything. I'd try their other flavors in a heartbeat! read more

The best cookies and cappuccino I have had in New York City. Seven Grams Caffe is a small third wave coffee shop with three locations in the city. This location in Chelsea has a good amount of seating, and tables large enough to comfortably fit a laptop. They roast their own coffee, and all baked goods are made from scratch. "Seven Grams" is an ode to the Italian standard, where the perfect espresso shot is made from exactly seven grams of ground coffee. I opted for a cappuccino with oat milk, which was bold and round in flavor, with very little acidity. A perfect 10/10. Having heard great things about their cookies, I tried both the vegan and nonvegan renditions. The regular was delicious; buttery and soft baked, but the vegan version was even better. Made with tahini and olive oil, it had an exquisite sweet/salt balance and a gooey texture that I will dream of. The baristas were genuinely friendly. Matcha white chocolate chip cookie: overall pretty subtle flavor but once I was able to taste the matcha, I really did enjoy the flavor, just wish it was a bit more intense. Love the crispy exterior and the soft cakier inside texture. Chocolate chip cookie: the cross section when breaking this one in half was so sexy. The chocolate chips were still gooey and liquidy while the outside was pleasantly crisp. I will say I prefer Levain's cookie texture more however because their cookies have a lot more exterior texture and crunchiness to contrast w the soft inside, which I personally prefer. Still, this was a very solid chocolate chip cookie. Iced matcha latte: guess I didn't event bother taking a picture from how disappointed I was with it. I don't think their matcha lattes are made sweetened, so I tried making it taste better and hopefully amplify the matcha flavor by adding simple syrup but somehow it became even more flavorless because I didn't even taste the bitterness of the matcha anymore which I guess was the only source of flavor.
