Just had my best laser appointment ever and I've done tons of these. Angel was sincerely the person her name implies. Happy, bubbly, funny, all hopped up on monster energy drinks and kept me laughing the whole time while making me feel absolutely comfortable through the whole experience. The girl at the desk was sweet and they made such an impression on me I brought them lunch! Literally best laser appointment ever! They didn't push me to buy what I didn't want, and now I will buy it all from them! Only thing that isn't good is when you try to contact you reach a call center in another country that are so rude it's crazy. I was texted and asked if I could come in early at 1:25 rather than my 1:50 appointment, so I rushed across town during my lunch break to make it. I arrived on time as requested and still ended up waiting until almost my original appointment time anyway. By then my entire lunch break was gone, so I asked to reschedule. When I asked if I could just book later through the app, I was told I'd be charged a no-show fee if I didn't schedule right then. I have been going here for years and it was always fantastic up until today. I had an appointment for 6:30PM today. I got a text from SEV at 5:30PM saying the Nurse is open and can take me earlier so I said sure I can be there in 20 minutes. I get there at 5:50PM and they check me in. The Nurse did not come to see me and do my laser until 6:25PM, making me wait 35 minutes. There were other people who came in after me who got seen before me. I just don't understand how I am told to come in early since the nurse isn't doing anything when she does have lots of patients AND the fact that other people came in after me and were seen before me! When I asked what's going on? The front desk said my appointment is at 11:55am. So yes everyone (even people who got here after me, when in before me. Very bad first impression. I recommend to remind them the time as you walk in and perhaps this could help you. I'm very busy and run my day on a schedule so this doesn't work for me. One session from a prepaid package that had already reached a zero balance was automatically rolled over into my active sessions and used without my consent. I was only informed after the treatment had been administered, at which point payment was demanded. I immediately disputed the charge; however, my card was still charged while the dispute was active. I ultimately had to resolve the matter through my bank and successfully won the chargeback. A manager overseeing other locations later became involved and justified the charge by citing company policy, despite the lack of prior notice or authorization. While policy language was referenced, the response failed to address the core issue: charging a client during an active billing dispute for a session they did not authorize. I've been a loyal SEV customer for 6-8 years, first at their NY location and then religiously at the Long Beach, SoCal branch for the past three. I love my nurses--they do an incredible job with my full-body laser--but SEV's upper management and customer service leave much to be desired. Recently, I had a frustrating experience with Jasmine and Ariel in customer relations when I simply asked if my husband and I could share an 8-session full-body package. Since we both get full-body treatments every 10 weeks, this would allow us to finish the package sooner and purchase another one even faster--meaning SEV still gets paid upfront and would actually make more from us in the long run. Instead of any consideration or even a professional, empathetic response, I was met with a dismissive and rude reply: "Don't try to push an outcome you're not going to receive." Excuse me? A long-term, loyal customer simply making a request deserves at least some courtesy, if not an alternative solution. It's disappointing that SEV prioritizes rigid policies over customer experience, especially when their approach makes no business sense. Horrible Customer Service! They ask for your groupon redemption number first then tell you that they cannot provide you with services you need. We purchased an extra large groupon for full back. After calling to make the appointment, without asking what services we need, immediately they ask for card number and groupon redemption number. After we provided the redemption number, they informed us that xlarge groupon deal will not work for full back but if we purchased large groupon deal, it will work for half back and with our groupon, they cannot help us with services we need at all. Tried explaining to the that you made us give you the redemption number so now we cannot refund our groupon and you refuse to provide us with the services we need and their response was tough luck, call Groupon to fix it. read more

I am writing to express my disappointment with my recent experience at your establishment, and to inform you that I will not be returning. I had scheduled a complimentary first-time laser facial to determine if it was a service I would like to continue. Unfortunately, upon my arrival, I was informed that I could not proceed with the laser facial because I had used an AHA/BHA toner. While I understand the importance of safety and appreciate that the procedure was not performed, I was never explicitly told about this restriction beforehand. This crucial information was not conveyed to me at the time of booking, nor was it highlighted prominently. It was only mentioned in online forms, which I believe is insufficient for such an important pre-procedure instruction. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk, I was met with an unhelpful attitude, which further compounded my frustration. I traveled a significant distance from Los Angeles for this appointment as I had an event in the area, making the trip a considerable waste of my time. Although I did reschedule the appointment, I will be canceling it. The overall unprofessional manner in which the situation was handled, combined with feeling rushed during my visit, has led me to decide that I cannot trust your services with my skin. In addition to the issues I mentioned, I also wanted to bring to your attention an observation I made while waiting for my session. I noticed that clients checking out were prompted, almost to the point of being forced, to schedule their next several appointments. When clients declined, the front desk receptionist displayed a very rude attitude. It seemed as though she was trying to push clients into purchasing additional sessions. While the nursing staff at this facility is exceptional, always professional and attentive, the overall customer service and management leave much to be desired. Their approach often comes across as dismissive and unhelpful. One significant issue is the frequent changes to policies and pricing, which are not clearly communicated to clients. For several months, there was no online system to track the remaining sessions in a package, forcing clients to rely on front desk staff for updates. This lack of transparency lead to confusion and, unfortunately, additional charges. After each appointment, I was prompted to schedule the next session. I consistently requested to book only the areas covered by my existing packages. Despite this, I was scheduled for three areas, and upon checkout, informed that my package had expired for one area-information I was not previously given. When I explained the situation, the staff refused to acknowledge their oversight and insisted I pay for the extra session. Laser hair removal is not typically a service one continues indefinitely. Based on consultations with the nursing staff, I was advised that I didn't need to purchase additional sessions. So why was more care not taken by the administrative staff? I can't help but wonder if this practice is intentional on their part to sell more sessions. read more

After 10 sessions on one area and 14 sessions on a more stubborn area, I only experienced about 60% hair loss overall. It was becoming quite expensive so I ended up stopping future sessions just because I was hoping for 100% loss by then. Results vary so I wanted to share my experience. read more

So I wanted to check this place out because the place I usually go to is really far away and I'm bummed that the service was disappointing. The quality that they give you for the price is not matching at all. While I did a show up late, most places give you a grace period or they call you to see if you are making it. No one called me so I thought I would be OK. I think they would've just charged me the 50% of my session if I had not showed up. So when I get there and was checking in, they told me that I had to reschedule, but I asked if it was still possible to be seen for the consultation because I shaved and I knew the areas I wanted done. I even said I didn't mind waiting for a later appointment. So I was able to be seen but only for two of the services I wanted because they only allowed the amount of time of my appointment which was 10 minutes. One of those areas was the bikini line and that was a rip off to me. They only do the line of the groin and not the top part (mound area) like the place I usually go to do. When I asked if it was possible they said no that they would consider that a Brazilian even though I'm not getting the actual full Brazilian. So they will charge me $30 more for just the top part. The front desk told me that it's one or the other no in between which was disappointing that they wouldn't be accommodating. The price I paid today for my two services (underarms and bikini line) I would get three services total at the place I normally go to. And they spend more than just 5 mins on each area and are more detailed asking you how much and what you want done during the session. Overall, I think the prices don't match the quality that they give you and it felt a bit rushed because they want to adhere so much to the time allowed for the areas. I'll probably go back to my old place that was farther but prices were better and the quality and attention to detail was better. read more

I have been to SEV in Irvine many times & absolutely love it there. I decided to make an appt at the Long Beach location bc it worked better location wise. I had an appt at 12pm today. I called yesterday at 3pm to ask if i could reschedule for either an earlier appt or a later appt because I couldn't make 12 pm. The gal told me they were fully booked and she couldn't move my appt time. I asked if they could reschedule me for the following day. She said no and I will get a cancellation charge. I explained to her that I know I definitely can't make 12pm and she said she'd put me on the waitlist. Well I never heard from them today but after my appt time they instantly charged my card $143.50. I will never make an appt at the LB location ever again. A cancellation fee of $143.50 is ridiculous. Not to mention I made the appt on Thursday and there were many open timeframes. I should have looked at the reviews before ever booking here. Save yourself from getting cheated and go to the Irvine location. I however, will never go to any SEV Laser locations again due to Long Beachs lack of understanding and customer service. They rather collect a cancellation charge than retain a loyal customer and make more money in the long run. read more

Absolutely terrible customer service. I show up to my appt and my technician is not there this is the 4th time they do this. I have requested repeatedly do not switch my tech or time without asking me if I can move. My tech wasn't there so I left. The receptionist messages me that this is considered a cancellation and proceeds to charge my card without my permission! Terrible business practice. I mean how dumb could you be. I had started going to SEV at the Irvine location and never had a problem there. Decided to try the LB location out since it was a bit closer to me. Scheduled the appointment online for a Sunday and even got reminder texts about my appointment being confirmed. I head over to my appointment and realize their office is closed on Sundays. I was pretty upset that I got scheduled on a day the office is closed all day but it was a system error I guess. Mind you, the text says you will get charged a 50% fee for not showing up to the appointment. Tell me why I get charged the full amount a couple days later which is $80 for an appointment that never even happened. I call in to get a refund and they say they will have to talk to "upper management" and I should be getting a refund in the next week or so. A week goes by, no refund.. I call back to see what's going on, I get put on hold for almost 10 min. I call back and the guy tells me the request for my refund was never put in but that he made sure it was done this time. Horrible customer service and on top of that never even put my refund?? If I would've never called again I probably wouldn't have got my money back. It took almost 3 WEEKS to my get my $$ refunded. Lovely place. Easy to deal with and clean place. Highly recommend this location, everyone is nice and the appointment bookings are fairly easy. Location isn't difficult but the signs to the location are only on its outer door and it looks discreet walking up to it, but you're at the right place! I have been a customer at SeV for many years, especially this Long Beach location As soon as it opened a few years ago. I received a promotional for two free service from SEV and went to my appointment this Saturday and instead of having me down for both services that I was scheduled for they only had me down for one. I didn't say anything so I decided just to do one. I didn't really want to cause a hassle and I was fine with just getting one of the services done especially since it was supposed to be free. But I should've already known something was off and said something since things were not properly booked. when I was checking out to tip the nurse they charged me full price for the service that was supposed to be free. I showed them and explained multiple times my email that shows the free service but they refused to give my money back. They also have been giving me the runaround and refuse to let me speak with any type of manager or the business owner to resolve this issue. I emailed them multiple times and still no response. I am very impressed with the resolution that came from my previous one star rating. I'm still upset that their initial reaction was to cancel my appointment before the provided timeframe. And I don't find it safe to answer medical questions on FaceTime while driving ever, even for a "less than 30 seconds". The service itself was fantastic. I had no adverse reactions to my underarms or upper lip several days after being lasered by Jessica. She was very kind and patient. She even triple checked my curology prescription to ensure that the chemicals are not included in the list of ingredients to avoid prior to lasering. The front desk woman was also kind and I didn't feel any sense of passive aggressiveness or uptight attitude seeing to it that my new appointment was notated accordingly. I will not remove my previous review for awareness because it was a true event that did happen to me before even receiving the service.
