It was his…read moreabosolutely stellar reviews that caught my attention but what really told me I was headed to the right place was his location and the fact that his address is 333 and his office is in one of the most incredibly beautiful and historical buildings in the nation. Brian not only took me in without an appointment or a prior phone call, which I'm learning is customary for this world of precious metals and coins. It felt incredibly prestigious to visit him in that phenomenal location and to learn from a man that's been in silver and gold trading since before I was born... and I'm getting to be pretty darn old! He didn't try to give me a lowball offer and I felt no need to negotiate or put my "shields up" as I tend to need to do with most businessmen. I feel honored to trade with him and got to see some really cool, historical, incredibly rare items and walk away with a bit of cash in my pocket. I just hope that now I've found my go-to silver, gold, palladium, & platinum bullion & coins guru that he'll keep doing business for a good while longer... cause I feel I have a trustworthy expert that I can soak up his knowledge and wisdom & share cool shiny things with one another. Don't waste your time looking up anyone else in the area... Brian Andrew and Associates is your coin and precious metals bullion no-brainer pick of the litter! Give him a call, you'll know instantly why I've been so effusive about him and his business when he picks up. Tell him his new pal Jason sent you

James consistently does an excellent job and clearly cares about helping his customers find exactly what they're looking for. He also provides very timely service and is always responsive and helpful whenever I have questions. It's rare to find someone who combines professionalism with such a genuine, welcoming attitude. I truly couldn't ask for a better salesperson and would highly recommend working with James if you visit New York Jewelers. Thank you James!!!

I had a thin, gold-plated necklace with beads that had broken when it was taken off of the card that held it. The repair that was needed would most likely involve some form of soldering the two pieces together, and I had an amount in mind that I would be wiling to pay given that this is more of a "fun" piece and not fine jewelry. When I walked into New York Jewelers, I was promptly greeted and shown upstairs, to the repair area. The woman behind the counter took the necklace and consulted with a gentleman in the back. I had errands nearby to run, but decided to stick around to get an estimate of time and cost. Initially, I was told this could not be done, but it turned out that the two pieces were somehow able to be soldered together. The cherry on top of this experience is that all of this was done at no charge! The woman who helped me said that after the fusing procedure, a slight bump could be seen between the gold plated portion and a bead. What she was pointing out was imperceptible to my eye. I was so pleased with the level of service, speed, and professionalism that I will be back here to get a battery put in my watch and for any other repairs when the time comes.

I wanted a Verragio engagement setting and offered to have it made custom or order it directly from the company. We opted to order from Verragio. They had it sent to their store, and had one of their jewelers set the stone. However, after about 3 months, the stone came lose. I called and they said I would have to bring it in and they would have their jeweler re-set or tighten the setting. This occured three times over the course of one year. Every time I brought the ring to them, the older lady who works there was extremely rude and made comments about how I should have just had the ring custom made to save money. After the third time I opted to bring my ring to a 3rd party professional. That jeweler showed me my ring and setting up close through a microscope. The jeweler that Gottlieb sent it to had complete squished and damaged the setting (platinum) to the extent that the 3rd party jeweler refused to touch the setting fearing he might damage the diamond. I brought this assessment back to Gottlieb, and they told me they would have it reset by their jeweler and that they would have the jeweler add additional platinum to the prongs to strengthen the setting. When I picked up the ring, the prongs were noticeably crooked and I left with the old lady yelling at me that they lost several hundred dollars just to make me happy. (I wasn't happy). Now, two years after all that, the diamond is lose again. I went to a new jeweler who is a Verragio dealer and she was appalled by this story. She inspected the ring and said it looked like they added white gold, not platinum to the prongs because there was an obvious yellow discoloration (which is normal for white gold, but not for platinum). She offered to call a rep from Verragio personally and ask if they would re-laser the prongs to their original setting and re-set the diamond the correct way. I just learned today that it will cost $300 to send it to Verragio for this service. My husband also recommended that my two brother-in-laws use Gottlieb as their jeweler because of the great selection and price on the center stone but warned about the service. Both went to Gottlieb and had a similar experience. One brought a picture of the engagement ring, had the wax mold made, and the ring made. The ring was not made right, and he had it sent back to the jeweler 3 times before they got it right (and he and his wife are still not happy with it). The other brother-in-law bought the ring and the stone from Gottlieb but got the size of the ring incorrect. The ring was too large for her finger, and the style of ring could not be sized down because of the integrity of the setting on the side stones (they were told). The old lady told my now sister-in-law that as she gets older, she will gain weight and the ring will fit (OUCH!). So, all-in-all, they have a great diamond and precious stone wholesale business with good prices. However, if you want a custom design or want to order a ring from a designer, you should just buy the stone, and go to a different jeweler.
