I needed a repair to a sentimental ring. The shank had broken and there was a second crack forming. This ring is 70 years old and was given to me 23 years ago. I wear it almost daily. The jewelers at Donna's offered to repair or replace. It was a substantial difference in price but knowing how the shank was compromised, I went for replacement. They suggested a thicker and slightly wider shank and sized it up a 1/4 size. I picked it up a week later and it looks fantastic. You cannot detect the repair and it was beautifully polished. I'm pleased to know this ring is secure for the next quarter century. I was also invited to return for free cleaning anytime. read more

These owners are the most sincere and honest people you would ever encounter in this type of business. We are long time customers of over 30 years and I don't hesitate in recommending this jeweler. Their expertise and knowledge is like no other. They have or make whatever you desire but most importantly, quality and price. In today's market, some things are still worth this kind of attention and they are happy to oblige. read more

Donna Jewelry Company is the BEST! Donna and her family are professional, talented and truly care about the quality of work they do for their customers. They are extremely easy to work with and will strive to create exactly what you want. We recently visited Donna to update my engagement ring and wedding ring that my husband purchased at Donna Jewelers 30 years ago from Danny. We planned to switch to white gold from yellow gold, but after talking with them we decided to go with platinum, and it is gorgeous! I love it! I highly recommend Donna Jewelry - I can't say enough positive comments about them! Great people, great service, great prices! read more

I took an antique ring there for repair. The repair was quick and done well. Very reasonable price too!

They are the best! I've been here twice now, the first time after my engagement ring's band broke. They repaired the band and even fixed some bent prongs I hadn't previously noticed. They fixed it that same day and charged a very reasonable price. They even had me look through a jeweler's loupe to verify/confirm that it was my diamond after they'd finished and invited me back anytime for a free cleaning. So when I had a couple more pieces of jewelry that needed to be fixed, I, of course, returned to them. And on the spot, they quickly fixed both pieces (a bent bracelet clasp and earrings that wouldn't close) and didn't even charge me. They are so kind, so quick, and do such a beautiful job. I rarely write reviews, but had such a fantastic experience that I ran here to rave about them, I highly recommend! read more

Donna Jewelry is an EXCEPTIONAL family business that I have been to a few times already. ALWAYS work to get you into the BEST jewelry for your specific need. This past week they worked diligently to help match a lost Diamond earring that needed to be replaced quickly... they dug thru all of their inventory to match the other earring EXACTLY. These guys are a great resource for ANY jewelry issues that might arise/ including repairs. I highly recommend them!! read more

I highly recommend Donna Jewelry! I trusted Donna with my necklace. I've worn this family heirloom for almost 50 years. I was crushed when the clasp broke. Donna treated my necklace as if it was her own valuable jewelry. You can trust Donna Jewelry for expertise, professionalism, and support. read more

Best jeweler in chicago! True and honest. Beautiful Jewlery. Have gone back multiple times.

This review is long overdue! A few years ago I accidentally threw away my diamond engagement ring and wedding band. I was devastated. We found our way to Donna Jewelry and I can't find the words to express our wonderful experience. Donna and Danny worked with us to design and duplicate my ring as close as possible to the ring I lost. They were kind, professional and became like family. I now have a beautiful diamond plus a gorgeous wedding band that I love! I couldn't be happier with what they did for us. I would recommend Donna Jewelry to everyone! They are kind, honest and they truly care. They made a difficult experience as great as it could be. They were a blessing to us! read more

Wow! Donna Jewelry exceeded our expectations. Donna & her family took excellent care of us. We were so impressed with their knowledge and dedication throughout the process of designing my engagement ring. Donna's father (Danny, I believe?) sat with us and graciously explained everything that we needed to know in a kind, effective, & honest way. Seeing how family oriented they are was a HUGE plus, as well. Anyone who walks in there can tell how much love and care goes into each piece they create. We can't wait to come back! read more

Donna and her family are the best! My husband purchased my engagement ring from another jeweler, and we intended to use that same jeweler for our wedding bands, however - the other jeweler kept postponing/ canceling our appointments and did not make us feel like much of a priority at all. Donna was recommended by two other couples, and we are so happy we went with her for our wedding bands. There was a slight issue with the original wedding band that my husband chose (the quality wasn't the best), and Donna was quick to provide alternative options. She's also always offered to clean my rings every time we stop in. We would absolutely go back to Donna in the future! read more

What a wonderful place! I needed my engagement ring repaired, I called, they saw me right away. She did a thorough review of the ring to ensure there wasn't anything else wrong and gave me proof that it was my stone and ring (very professional). She said she would do the repair, clean and polish the engagement ring and my wedding ring in about 90 min, same day (it was a minor repair). When I came to pick up, the rings both looked like NEW and reasonably priced! Super sparkly and clean!!! I had been here several years ago but not since their move to the new building- definitely check them out if you need a repair or a cleaning/polish. And the upmost professionals - I'll be back! read more

Donna saved my engagement. I worked with an out of state jeweler on a custom ring that arrived a week before my proposal date, and the ring was totally out of proportion. I brought it to Donna the Saturday before my proposal and they were able to make a new setting and re-set the center stone in under a week. The ring is absolutely gorgeous and my fiancée was thrilled. So grateful for their help - you can't go wrong working with this team! read more

Donna and her family are the absolute best. They are incredibly thoughtful, committed to quality, and treat their customers like family. They set my diamond in front of me. Truly a beautiful experience! The whole family is experienced and knowledgeable, and I couldn't be happier with having Donna and her family as our jeweler now. I can confidently say they are on your side in making a decision (like buying an engagement ring!) that is life changing and emotional. They were so transparent, kind, and very happy for the future my fiancé and I are building. Thank you, Donna! I am grateful I found this family with such great expertise and experience in the industry, and that they lead with their values of kindness at the forefront. read more

Hey Danny and Donna, Jimmy here from Virginia. Thank you for all of the beautiful custom pieces you have made for me for over 3 decades.

They really know their stuff! I brought in my damaged engagement ring and what I really respect about them is that they said they COULD fix it but to first reach out to the jeweler that made my ring because they may do it for free. I really appreciate that they didn't try to take my business if I had a better option. They're looking out for you! read more

My fiancé went to Donna's to get my engagement ring, and I am so happy he did. It is stunning. The picture does not do it justice. Everyone who sees it for the first time comments on how unbelievably sparkly it is. When we took it to get resized, Donna was so attentive and took her time measuring my finger to make sure my ring would be the perfect size. They were able to resize it quickly and I only had to be without my ring for about a half an hour. Recently I noticed a small diamond was missing. We were fully prepared to pay for a replacement and repair, I even started a claim with insurance, but when my fiancé took the ring in, they offered to replace it for free, and they even cleaned it for me on top of that! I had my ring back the very same day. I am just amazed at this kind of service. Donna and her family do quality work, and they stand behind it. You will not get anywhere close to this kind of service at a big box jeweler. I can't wait to go back to buy our wedding rings from Donna! read more

Let me start by saying this is by far the best family owned jeweler in Chicago. Donna and her family went above and beyond to provide an exception customer experience from initial consultation to post-sale. Not only did they make me feel comfortable throughout the process but they coached me through the sale with every little detail and took the time to understand what I was looking for in a transparent and professional manner that I haven't felt in years. Not only will Donna be my go-to jeweler going forward, but I'd also highly recommend them to any of my family members, friends and even strangers. It was that exceptional of a customer experience! Excellent craftsmanship and service! Product is exactly what I wanted and was ready same day!

We have been using Donna's jewelry for the last 22 years. When I say we have used them I really mean it. Donna has designed our wedding band, upgraded my center stone (5yrs later)designed my three stone band for my 10 year anniversary, purchased earrings, diamond pendant and another band. We just left there after redesigning my original wedding band and what they created is absolutely stunning!! Couldn't even imagine a better outcome. Their attention to detail is outstanding and Donna's prices are amazing. They have always been great to work with both personally and budget wise. We have had numerous family members use them also (from our recommendation) and have always raved about them. Donna's whole staff is attentive and patient, we have dealt with them all. Donna herself was amazing with my 1000 questions and indecisiveness. No better place to go! read more

Donna is truly a gem! Several of my family members have purchased engagement rings and wedding bands from Donna. We've also referred many friends to her because we really trust her expertise! She does great work at incredibly affordable prices and always takes care of us! A stone went missing from my wedding band and within one day she had it replaced, good as new, at no cost. Incredible! Highly recommend Donna and her sweet family if you're looking for great pieces of fine jewelry! read more

Donna and her family are absolutely fantastic. My friends and family were impressed that I was able to select such a nice ring. I don't typically mention this, but all I really did was select a good jeweler. Donna does super high quality work, at affordable prices. And has great service! My fiancée and I initially looked at rings together, and then I made the final selection myself. My fiancée normally hates salespeople, but Donna and her family made her feel right at home. Donna is incredibly knowledgeable, and was also kind and patient enough to answer my many, many questions, over many visits. I read many reviews of Donna Jewelry. Many mentioned their incredible customer service. I came in with high expectations, and did not walk away disappointed. Buying an engagement ring can be a nerve wracking process. You only do it once (ideally), it costs a ton of money (although Donna has great prices, especially on a value basis), and overall is probably the most judged purchase you can make. For a purchase like that, you want to get something that's of excellent quality, at an affordable price, and with someone who's a knowledgeable, honest, and friendly expert. read more

Getting engaged can be a pretty scary thing to do. Not only are you saying adios to your single-hood, but any time you're looking to spend a few thousand dollars on something you need a microscope to really get a good look at, it's a pretty stressful situation. Well, any of the fears that I had about the ring buying portion of the engagement process were completely absent at Donna Jewelry. Donna never seemed like she was in it for the money and because of that I always felt comfortable. Before we even talked about style or the price, she spent a good deal of time learning about who my special lady was and how I planned to pop the question. It was totally different than what I was expecting. After a couple of visits and a few outside consultants we had an idea of how to proceed building the ring. That was until we completely had to change everything after learning some new intel on the style my lady wanted. Not only was Donna and her family able to scrap our original idea and start a new one from scratch, but she did it in under a week so I was able to proceed with my original Thanksgiving Day proposal plan. By the end of this whole experience, I'd not only recommend getting a ring from Donna and her family. I'd recommend just stopping in anytime you're near jewelers row. They'll clean your ring for you for free and they're just some of the most pleasant people you'll ever meet. read more

Let me start by saying, my experience would have been better if I had asked for Donna. I wish I could give 5 stars. In fact, my ten year is coming up and that is why this is being posted now. My engagement ring is beautiful. They did a fabulous job on it. 9 years later I still look at it and admire it. The wedding band...not so much. I don't wear it actually. The wedding band had a pattern to it that was supposed to match the engagement ring. It didn't. There was beading on the engagement ring that didn't show up on the wedding band. There was more..., but that's not the issue. The issue is that they make a mold of the ring before they make it. I showed up without my husband who is the one who has done work with them before. Aka ex-wives lol. Donna nor her parents helped me. It was someone else who got MAD when I told them I didn't like the mold. I explained that the cut was too drastic between the diamonds & the (ahem...non-matching) band & its design. The diamonds were smaller than the band & while I didn't pick the diamonds, I asked if she could maybe not make the edge so drastic. Could they just shave off the edges so they weren't 90 degrees, & there was a smoother edge. She huffed and rolled her eyes and said fine. When I went to pick up my ring, already attached to my beautiful engagement ring, it was the mold. EXACTLY. The entire family comes over all excited to tell me how great it looks. It was horrible. I have mom, dad, Donna, another couple looking at engagement rings all gushing over this ugly mismatched ring. One year later I managed to get it dislodged from the engagement ring and I haven't worn it since. It makes me think of a time when I couldn't stand up for myself in front of other people. read more

My husband got my engagement ring from Donna Jewelry and it is fantastic. It is everything I wanted and more. The quality is far superior to any mall or chain type stores and the price was more than reasonable for what I have. I get compliments all the time. I got my engagement ring here it was so beautiful and they helped every step of the way. Excellent humans work here.

Service and Quality I had lost one of my favorite (birthstone opal) earrings, and took the remaining one in to see if they could replace it. I even brought the necklace with me in case they could use that stone for the replacement earring. I was advised against it because it was just a little bigger than the earring. In 2 weeks I had the replacement earring, and it's a perfect match! The stone looks like it was the original, with the same kind of fire and colors. The setting is also a perfect match. I also had a couple of other earrings repaired and they are like new. Thank you to all at Donna Jewelry! read more

Donna has taken care of us and our family for years. The absolute best and always cleans our rings when we stop by!

To be completely honest I am embarrassed at how long it has taken me to write this review. We could not speak higher of Donna and her family. Due to a horrible experience with another jeweler, we looked long and hard before purchasing a diamond. My fiance and I went to a ton of jewelers before we were referred to Donna. We wanted to make sure we purchased from someone we felt we could trust, since most all of the other jewelers we talked to were either salesmen, pushy, or didn't care about us and our needs. From our first meeting with Donna we knew we were in good hands. She always answered our many, many questions. She was always very open, accommodating, genuine, and honest. We felt like we were talking to a friend. Her whole family is superb. Donna helped us with the horrible experience we had with another jeweler. We also bought my husbands wedding band from Donna and her family. Overall we didn't feel like we were being ripped off or tricked into buying something, we felt like we were paying a fair price, and we trusted what Donna had to say and what she had to offer. We could not recommend Donna enough. If you are reading this review stop looking for another jeweler. I promise you will not be sorry if you go with Donna. It was one of the best decisions we could have made. read more

Exquisite craftsmanship, exceptional service. Four words that perfectly describe the wonderful experience we've had with Donna Jewelry. My husband purchased an engagement ring from Donna Jewelry on the strength of personal recommendations from other clients, and we could not have been happier. Until the day I discovered that the center stone had gone missing from the ring. I'm careful with my rings, but life happens - travelling on airplanes three times a month, rough housing with my nephews, playing with the dog, doing laundry. Who knows where the stone got lost? Grudgingly resigned that I would need to replace the ring, we went back to Donna. I opted to purchase a new ring. Donna helped me find another option that I absolutely LOVE, and she made excellent recommendations to update the previous ring with a new non-diamond stone so it could be a keepsake for the future. And she provided the updates at rates that were very reasonable and generous. I already loved Donna from our first experience, and now I can't imagine going anywhere else for fine jewelry needs. read more

I can't recommend Donna Jewelry enough. I went to Donna's with a vague idea of what I was looking for and a price range I had in mind. At no point in our first meeting did I ever feel like Donna was trying to sell me on more than I was asking for. In fact, she probably reasoned me out of making an even larger purchase that would've left me with buyer's remorse. She was extremely patient and informative throughout the entire process, and the price was unbeatable (seriously, couldn't find any other jewelers or online engagement ring sites that could come close to matching Donna's price with the same quality). Through 40+ emails of me mulling over small details, Donna was always prompt with her responses (thanks for being so patient, Donna!). The ring was finished in about 3 weeks and I couldn't be happier with the result. My fiancée was ecstatic! Seriously, don't think twice, just go to Donna's. Unlike other jewelers where all the employees work on commission and are trying to push a sale, Donna Jewelry is family run and they stand behind their work and reputation. We've definitely found our go-to jeweler. read more

After looking online at a couple of places to get my now husbands wedding band resized, this place had the best reviews and many people mentioned it was very easy and cheap for ring resizing. I messaged them through Yelp and confirmed they would be open and available the following Saturday and could help with my needs (which they confirmed with a speedy reply). So it was a month before the wedding and we brought my husband's great grandfathers wedding band (from 1910!) in and needed to get it sized down a couple sizes. They helped him get the right size and while I was there I had a ring from my grandma that has a number of small white opals in which 2 had fallen out and been lost. They said they could find replacements and that we could get both rings back in 4 days time! Fast forward 4 days and I picked them up and they looked great, the opals you couldn't even tell which were the replacements! And for my husband's ring, they were able to resize without having to cut anything out, so we kept the full gold. All of that with great service for only $99!! ($30 for the resize and $60 for the opals plus tax). read more

I cannot speak highly enough about the team at Donna Jewelry. They created a completely custom engagement ring for my fiance and sourced the most gorgeous stone. She absolutely loved it. I am a Yelper 100% and yet, this is the first review I have ever written about any business. However, in my opinion, it is the most deserved positive review. When my fiancé and I decided to start looking for wedding rings/bands in Chicago, we spent days and days visiting almost every store on the Jewelry Row (for those who know what this is in Chicago), and that is a lot. We were kind of disappointed mainly by the approach of many sales people who were really pushy and wanted to sell something we were not looking for. That was until I read the excellent reviews of Donna Jewelry and decided to stop by her store. Believe me when I say, it was the best decision we have ever made. If you are looking for fancy-looking stores like Ethan Lord or New York Jewelers because that makes you feel good, Donna Jewelry is not the place for you. But if you want a quality service, a friendly face, quality diamonds with honesty, and a very good price, then, this might be the one. It was for us and we are very grateful of Donna and her family for never pushing, for explaining so clearly, for answering all our questions, for being the best experienced consultants ever (and I know something about diamonds), for spending so much time with us without being rushed, and just for being such a nice person...like someone you would like to be friends with. We are very satisfied because we found the wedding bands we really wanted for both of us and we spent the necessary time to evaluate different styles and had custom-made modifications for us. I can assure you that you can find anything you want at Donna Jewelry. Donna may not have a lot of different styles for you to see in the store, but she has a website and books full of them for you to choose from. She even had a ring made in my size so I could see it and try it on even if we didn't buy it, which we didn't because I wanted it bigger, so she had a second one made for me as my final piece of art. Thank you, thank you, thank you Donna! and your family too. We told you this personally, but again, we are VERY HAPPY with our wedding bands and the way you all treated us every single time we stopped by. read more
