Cardenas All Around Construction & Remodel - Complete bathroom remodel

Cardenas All Around Construction & Remodel

We had an extensive remodel at our retirement home and Mike and his crew did a fantastic job. We…read moreentrusted him with all of it. Mike was always available to talk about our project and gave me the truth about what the repairs and upgrades would cost, as well as his professional opinion about color schemes. He was easy to work with, very knowledgeable, and courteous. We had several pieces of additional work, and Mike and crew integrated this additional work scope into the original work very well. I would highly recommend them for future work. Ken and Donna G. Prosser, WA

We highly recommend Cardenas All Around Construction & Remodel. We had been trying to find a…read morecontractor to fix our bathroom floor since last October 2020, when we noticed it was getting bouncy. We had four contractors come out to our home and check it out. We contacted two large companies, Zion in Pasco, and Clean Image Restoration, in Kennewick. Both said that the 5/8 press board that the previous contractor, [2015- 1st Choice Restoration] used was not meant for counter tops and NOT sub-flooring! Both of these businesses said they would send us a written estimate for our insurance company. They never have. Zion sent someone out twice, but never did send us an estimate. We dealt with a man there named Urbie. Our last text was terse on my end and he finally answered, saying he'd been sick. Apparently he couldn't ask anyone else to take over for him. I asked if he was so sick he couldn't speak or send a text? He didn't respond. I called our insurance agent to see if they knew of anyone else? He said they had used Clean Image Restoration, Kennewick, WA before, so we called them [contact was Doug]. Same results as with Zion. On December 14, after nocturnal trip to the bathroom, I fell through the floor. Bright and early the next day, we contacted Doug at Clean Image with this info and still no responses to this day. Finally, we were led to a man named Michael Cardenas. He came out right away [Feb.12, 2021] and looked the job over. He phoned the next day and told us how much his estimate was. He said he had a couple of jobs to finish, but would start our job on February 22nd. He estimated it would take a week to finish. He e-mailed a contract promptly, we looked it over and accepted it. Mike was here at 8am, on the 22nd and everyday thereafter, except for one, when he needed to pick up some supplies.. When we called, or texted him, he responded in a very timely manner. It really sent a message to us that, even though our job was small by comparison to other things he has done, our project was just as important to him. I'm elated to say that they finished our job on February 26th and our floor looks great! He and his assistant even put back our washer and dryer, though we hadn't contracted with him to do that. After the nightmare we've had with contractors' [going back to the 2015 nightmare that was 1st Choice Restoration in Kennewick] we were hunkering down for another round of headaches. But boy, were we ever pleasantly surprised! As I said before, we highly recommend Cardenas All Around Construction & Remodel them for their excellent communication skills, dependability, and first-rate repair and remodel skillset.

I only needed carpet replaced it was old anyway. Seth agreed to this. He claimed to be on vacation would give me an estimate as soon as he got back into town. He took weeks getting here, but sent a guy over with fans. I was confused I said I wanted carpet replaced why dry it. I never did get an estimate even though I waited. I found someone else to replace the carpet which is all that I said I wanted. After I told him I found someone else he gave me a bill for more than it cost to do the job that I did with someone else. Just found out today he turned me into collectors for a bill I don't owe. Hope this saves someone else from being taken advantage of.

HORRIBLE BUSINESS!!!! Seth seems like a good enough guy, especially because he had a baby goat, but…read morewow does he have ZERO follow through. That includes the ability of his business to finish a job. After receiving an estimate that was waiting on an engineer approval, I had to follow up several times. He finally went ahead without the approval, but his guy was walking on the insulation (I went in the attic and verified this with my own eyes), and broke through my ceiling causing an 8 foot break down the hallway (December 2021). In repairing the damage that the employee caused he completely messed up the texture of the ceiling, the mud has bulges and valleys along the wall seam, and he missed entire strips of paint to the new ceiling. In May 2022, after Seth and his crew failed to show up or return my multiple calls, I received a bill in the mail. I had the work inspected within 2 weeks of receiving the bill by a local home inspector who found that the work in the attic was only 75% complete. I told Seth I would happily pay him if the work was completed at which point he stopped responding. In April 2023 Seth sent my bill to collections and I was assured by the office manager that all bills are reviewed by Seth personally before hitting collections. I then scheduled a meeting with Seth AND THE HOME INSPECTOR, to show him the unfinished job. The same employee came back to finish the work. He then STEPPED ON MY CEILING AGAIN!!!! I sat here and watched his leg hanging through the ceiling from the attic. The employee (with a bloody shin) put up a patch and texture the same day and said he would be back in a week to finish texture and paint, but nobody showed up or called. I reached out to Seth who had no idea his employee broke through my ceiling a second time. During all of these ceiling damages, multiple fractures started spidering across my ceiling. I complained to Seth multiple times but he refused to acknowledge that his employee was walking on my insulation causing this damage. In August 2023 Seth then sent me a bill with an additional $2632.50 to the bill for ceiling/drywall repairs "not at all part of the original scope of work". FOR DAMAGE HIS EMPLOYEE CAUSED. The office manager and Seth agreed to have Seth pick up the damaged piece to repair at his shop. After a few follow ups on my end I have never heard from or seen these people again. I hired Seth in late 2021. It is now April of 2024 and the damages are not fixed.

Week 13 of restorations, and EVERY SINGLE STEP has been an absolute nightmare! I'm so frustrated…read morewith this entire process. There's a lot that I can put up with. What I cannot handle is having brand new ripped flooring, forced unacceptable choices, cut pipes requiring the home owner to repair, torn ceilings (not part of thw work), broken fences, stolen objects, and mostly my personal journal, that I write in daily, being removed from a space that was not the work area and left out in the middle of the floor. I feel so violated, and really I don't know how to describe it. Literally choose ANYONE else in the Tri.

A previous restoration company, 1st Choice Restoration, put the floor down in 2015, using only 5/8 pressboard. On December 14, 2020, I fell through that floor and almost broke my knee. Our insurance agent suggested CLEAN IMAGE RESTORATION. Our project was looked over and the operations manager, DOUG PEREZ, sent us an estimate on December 21, 2020. We sent it to our claims adjuster and a check was cut a week later. We spoke to Doug a couple of times and asked when he could start? He said an engineer needed to come out and look it over. He cautioned it would be a while, since the engineers were in big demand right now with all the construction going on in the Tri-Cities. So, we waited. And waited. And waited some more. We waited until mid-February. We called him every week. No response. We texted and he answered us, maybe twice with the same answer about needing an engineer to come out. Then, it was dead silence. Our claims adjuster even tried to contact him, to no avail. Finally, on February 12 we were lucky to find a contractor that looked over our job and said he could start on February 22nd. He did as he said and finished our job in 4 days. We will NEVER try to DO BUSINESS WITH CLEAN IMAGE RESTORATION OR DOUG PEREZ again!
