I had the very worst experience with Northwest Restoration. I had a flood in my house in March of 2021. My insurance company sent them to do the mitigation work. I have no complaints regarding the flood mitigation. However what followed was frankly an extremely stressful and distressing experience. They presented themselves as being there to not only deal with the flood, but to return my home to its pre-flood state. Sadly, this is not what happened. I chose a floor that was 2 toned. Instead of doing a layout as is required to lay this floor properly, they placed it as it came out of the box, this resulted in patches of dark flooring and patches of light flooring. I asked that they fix the issue. They came to my house and popped up the laminate and rearranged it, damaging it in the process. The flooring was chipped and had seams that were not tight. In addition, there are gaps in which you can see the subfloor. They reused water damaged materials. Where one should have one solid length of trim, they patchworked it with short pieces where they apparently did not measure properly. The flooring has a large gap where it should meet the tile, so the trim will not stay nailed down. They said they fixed a water damaged cabinet, but the repair will not stay nailed down as the cabinet itself is water damaged and warped. There are places where the drywall was damaged that were not repaired appropriate and now are dented in or in one place a straight up hole in the wall. The base boards are not flush with the flooring. They broke the handle off my oven door, attempted to hide it by placing it in place, but not secured. When I tried to open oven, the handle came off in my hand. Te oven os not leveled up with the counters. When questioned they suggested that I go to home depot and buy some wood to boost it up. They dropped something on the bathroom linoleum and tried to hide it. They then tried to tell me that it maybe came like that from the manufacturer. I spoke to the person who sold it and was told that it was not damaged and had been inspected before being sold. They re- used water damaged materials. The manager agreed in front of myself and my brother who is a contactor, and later in an email that the job was "horrible". When I attempted to get my funds returned, so I could find a company who is capable of doing an acceptable job, they negotiated with me, and then frankly ghosted me for weeks when they did not like my response. It was not until I contacted an attorney who specializes in Construction Defect that they finally responded to my many attempts at contact. I finally agreed to settle with them for $9000 of the 13,500 that they had collected. Not because I was satisfied, but because I need my home returned to its former state. I have photos and emails to back all my experiences and claims. This experience has been extremely difficult and stressful. I have lost sleep because I was not sure that I would not have to pay for all the repairs that they had so badly done.
