We had a pipe break under my bathroom vanity right before Christmas. What a nightmare I found myself in, and was so stressed. I called Zion, and they were out immediately to start the process of saving my floors. They even caught the fact that the second bathroom also had water damage, and helped me deal with my insurance when they tried not to admit that it went that far. I felt they really had my back, Urbie was amazing. I had them also restore everything after, and it looks great. They did not stop until everything was as it should be and perfect. Everyone here was awesome in the beginning, quick to respond and great at keeping communication up. But as soon as I said I wanted to do some calling and digging around to try to find a way to save myself my $3,000 deductible they were curt and obviously displeased. They even had another person call me and threaten to invoice me for time spent sending emails and making phone calls to put the project together. A call to my insurance agent confirmed this is a bullying technique and something they can not do. They also invoiced my insurance for things not used and not done, which was really dishonest and disturbing. After talking to friends and family I got some calls back that others had the same experience. I have no interest in raping any insurance company which is what I thing they're all about. In the end, I will have all this work completed for about $10k less than what they quoted. Let's keep our insurance rates down and not use companies that practice business like this. read more

I recently had work done on my new house. Started an insurance claim and hired ZION and they came in to do the work. The company prolonged the work to get the most out of me they could and refused to give me an estimate of work then told me after i was locked into a contract that the work was based on the amount that the insurance would and had approved not the work actually done. I would use caution if ever using this company and ask lots of questions as well as get everything in writing before any work is done. This company is not very honest and will play games to get as much money as possible out you the home owner. read more

We will never use or recommend Zion ever. Wish we would have known that they overcharge for services and for things not done and rip people off prior to contacting them. They came due to water damage in our kitchen and dining area. Ripped up our floor and then we were billed for things that were incorrect including the size of the area. It is about 165 Sq. Ft and they charged for over 214 Sq. Ft. They were there not even 3 hours and charged for more. There were other discrepancies also. When contacting them when the statement was received, she stated "Isn't insurance paying this?" I told her no that we were. She stated she would send a message and have them review it. This was December 2021. I tried to contact them numerous times and was told each time I would get a call back. The last time I contacted them was 1/28/22. Never heard back so nothing was paid. Mid April I received an emailed notice of a non itemized amount to pay after 5:00 pm, which was still way more than it should of been. The next morning around 10:00 am I received a Voice Mail stating they had an outstanding invoice and would like a call back to get it closed out. My husband and I decided we would just pay it as we knew that we were never going to get anywhere with them. So I guess if insurance was paying they would have been paid in full with no one to question it. That's why insurance is the cost that it is. Crooked Company. read more

I would give Paul and Zion a negative score if I could. The process of having them come and do water damage repairs was truly added stress and cost that no one wants to endure. Numerous times they had appointments complete work and never showed nor called. Which led to more lost pay from work. It took multiple phone calls to ever get a return call from Paul or his team on work updates . Then they demanded full payment for work that was never completed!!!! It has taken 4 months to get a small restoration done. Now we must resort to completing the process ourselves... please please . Find someone else to do your work. Save yourselves the nightmare that we have faced and are now having to finish! read more

Our experience with Zion Restoration has been nothing but positive. We experienced water damage in the interior of our home brought on by an ice dam to our roof due to the winter's abundant snowfall. One wall had to be torn down to the studs, insulation removed as well as new carpet and pad replaced in the room. Since our house was only two years old our concern was that the restored quality would not match up to the original build. But our concerns were unfounded and found it a delight doing business with them. Zion is highly organized, communicates extremely well throughout the whole process, uses quality craftsmen and materials, has employees that respect existing property making sure no more damage occurs due to inattention, hire clean-cut and cordial workers and craftsmen and the final restoration end result was done efficiently and professionally. Property damage is never convenient, as well as feeling displaced, but Zion helped mitigate the negative effects of our damaged property by their excellent work ethics. I would highly recommend Zion Restoration and if we ever have a need again for restorative work Paul and his team will be the first on our list to call. read more

My mother had a busted water pipe in the basement on Jan 15 2021. My daughter and son in law came and helped clear the water but there were two rooms that had wet items that needed to be moved outside to dry. I called Zion, they came in a short period of time. I told the young man that everything needed to be moved outside from the one room and what had gotten wet from the other room. Crew showed up and they started carrying things outside, they had a container unit delivered but did not put anything in it. They sprayed the floor with antibacterial solution and put many fans down there to dry the floor. I thought everything was good until I went downstairs and saw that instead of taking everything outside they stuffed it in other parts of the basement. I had told them we would contact the insurance company to put in a claim. Zion gave me an estimate which was very high but figured it was due to being an insurance claim. Took almost two weeks to hear back from the insurance adjuster and they would not cover it since it was a long term ware damage. I called Zion and let them know the insurance was not going to cover the damage and asked for an adjustment to the charges which I felt for the work done was grossly over priced. I called two more times in the next month and half, no call back from manager. My mother passed away from cancer in mid March, two months after the work was done, still no invoice for the work done. I then called many times over the next month with no answer at the Zion office. Here on June 8th a bill came in the mail for the full estimated insurance price of $4,963.72 which is grossly inflated for the work that was done on Jan 15, 2021. Very disappointed in Zion, not what their commercials show as a reputable company. read more

Agree that I would give Zion a negative rating. They came in and bulldozed tearing up carpet and molding without discussion. No indication of what the plan or timeline would be. They opened bedroom doors without asking, one had a confined dog and one someone was getting dressed. Then tried to open that door again, fortunately husband standing by. I had not even yet submitted a claim. Did not give me a copy of what I signed. When I called to try to find out a time when they would return, I was told they only make schedules in morning, and "We have other places to take care of." When I asked for a plan, could not get a straight answer. Did not call the next morning and when I called to find out when they were coming, Paul got very rude. I fired him when he arrived and he still tore up the wall in the entry way (continuing when I told him to stop) and went though the house making notes. Do not use these guys for anything other than carpet cleaning unless you want real headaches. read more

At first the people at Zion seemed to be very nice. Then once the work started, it seemed to be a hassle the rest of the way through. They sent workers that could barely speak English. They were very slow at their job. After day one, I noticed the work they did was worse then our problem. We pointed it to them so they fixed it. They did not even finish one part of the job. Then they had to tear it all out and redo it. But yet again, made it worse then befor they began. Very upset and disappointed. They did this job supposedly 3 times and still did not get it right. There's humps and low spots and now it squeaks. They said it was because of the trusts under my house, but, it was because they never pulled all the wood out in the beginning. All they did is cut parts out and try to replace it it with thicker wood. Of course it's not going to match the old that had been there for 20 yrs. common sense. So now I have dips humps where there wasn't before . When I complained again, they got upset and said, "there was a tolerance to complaining." Well I am sorry, they did not do the job right. I had wished to talk to owner but he never did come by like we asked. They have never called us again to see how the guy did on the 3rd try. They have never checked to see if we were happy. They never came by to see the job finished. Now tell me again what there ad says. "Garenteed work. "We want you to be happy". Bull..... I double checked with other contractors, and friends to see if I was wrong. Nope, I right fully have room to bitch because it was done wrong, and bad. I welcome him to come over, bring his wife and office lady's or whom ever he would like to walk on my floor and tell me if they could live with it. I have tried,and it sux. It feels awe full especially since all those humps and dips and squeaks were not there before. So people read the reviews befor you hire Zion. The reviews are here for a reason. When I made the appointment, they told me they would be here at 10:30am. When no one showed, I called the office at 11. They told me "oh, they should have told you they would come between 10:30-11:30am." At 12:00, I got a call that they were going to be late. When I mentioned that he was already really late, he said his paperwork said 10:30-12:30 for the appointment time. And he isn't coming until 12:45. Really?? read more

Not sure what the deal is with the negative reviews. 100% the opposite from our experience. We had a plumbing leak that flooded our master bedroom and bathroom floors - and went down into the crawlspace. Zion were at our house within 1 1/2 hours of first calling our homeowner's insurance company. They explained the process and quickly got to work. I am an engineer by profession so perhaps I had more idea of what to expect and it was less of a shock. Sure there is a lot of ripping and tearing, but that's what you have to do - and fast - to assess the damage and prevent further damage. It is not going to be pretty. There is not time for a "plan" the way people would normally expect, you can't just guess how much and where the damage is. So a conventional estimate is not possible until the extent of the damage has been uncovered. It is not just a simple case of sucking up the water and drying out carpets. Water travels a long way very quickly, especially under carpets and sub flooring by capillary action between the surfaces. You can't pussyfoot around trying to delicately remove and save bits of baseboard, sopping wet underlay or other things. If it is not completely and quickly dealt with, mold and fungus will be a future nightmare. For us it meant 2/3 of the carpet lifted in the bedroom and some in the walk-in closet, underlay removed and discarded, vinyl and sub floor removed and discarded in the bathroom, plumbing disconnected and toilet removed, cabinets and back splash removed, sheet rock cut and removed up to 12" or so water had got to, base boards and door trim removed and discarded (the bottom ends of the trim have been soaked and swollen - they would never be the same), insulation removed and discarded under the crawlspace where necessary. They were very thorough. They provided new moving boxes to store personal items, clothes etc. If you are not insured, well I'm afraid that's you own responsibility, but otherwise you are only going to pay the deductible regardless of the amount of labor and materials. Also remember that you must declare any water damage when selling a house and having the full detailed professional mitigation and restoration report and paid invoices will eliminate any problems. Zion had the mitigation phase complete in 5 days and started on the restoration as soon as we authorized it with the insurance company. There was a couple of day lull while the estimator did his work, then the restoration was completed quickly and efficiently and they did an outstanding job. Even knowing where sheet rock was cut, etc., you can not tell anything was done (Gabriel is a genius!! - and a heck of a nice guy too, in fact they all were). It all matches up perfectly as if nothing had happened. The entire team was professional and courteous, very polite, considerate, unobtrusive, knowledgeable and expert at their jobs. We never had a problem contacting them or getting questions answered. They were always proactive in letting us know when people would be at the house and worked around the few times we could not be there. One of them stayed until 8:00 pm one evening (with our approval) to finish up some work in order to get the next step started the following day. It is a stressful situation for anyone and when things are all torn up it looks like a disaster, but they handled it so well we could not be happier. A bad situation was turned around into as pleasant an experience as could be given circumstances. On the last day when the final cleaning was done and furniture put back in place Paul (CEO not the other Paul) came over to ensure everything was perfect and we were completely satisfied. (Actually both came.) I have done a lot of extensive remodeling in the past and I was truly impressed with their expertise and workmanship. The only way anyone could tell something had been done is the slightly different color of the new of insulation material under the crawlspace. We would recommend Zion to anyone in a heartbeat. Shout out to Mutual of Omaha too - fast, efficient, supportive and checks received by the time work was complete. And they offered to pay for excess electricity for the 14 fans and 2 dehumidifiers that ran 24/7 for over 4 days. read more
