Being able to leave my key with them to get all the work completed and not have to worry about a thing was great, too. Trustworthiness is an asset that they posses. After my floors were done, they helped me with a payment plan so I could pay cash on the remainder. Legacy Emergency Services did a great job cleaning the mold in my attic space. Of the three vendors I contacted, they were the only ones who wore PPE during the inspection and the only ones who brought a ladder, even though they knew the work area was in the attic. That level of preparation gave me a lot of confidence in their professionalism. The cleaning was fast and efficient, taking about 30 minutes, and they left a HEPA filter fan below the attic access afterward to help with the smell from the cleaning product. Our overall experience was SO much better than I could have imagined. My top ten favourite aspects of the experience: 1. The quality of the work was phenomenal. We are SO happy with the results. He coordinated (and did a lot of the work for) tearing out a kitchen wall, removing a closet, putting in a new wall, working with electricians, stripping and leveling floors, coordinating the new kitchen to be put in (work a lot with our cabinet guys) and really helping making sure everything was cohesive in this old house. 2. We asked him to completely remodel the interior of our 1700 square foot home in a little over a month. 3. He was a GREAT communicator. He texts, he emails, he calls when he needs feedback, etc. 4. He saw issues in advanced. The best example is the door... he discovered that we would need to raise the door because the flooring we switched to required a higher door. 5. In the end, I trusted Marty a lot. He was very forthcoming and honest. 6. He was very flexible and had a can-do attitude. My husband took a couple days off of work and him and Marty painted a lot of the house (and the ceilings. 7. As a general contractor, Marty partners with others to get the work done. Overall, we were pretty impressed with the people that he partnered with. 8. Marty worked well with others. We probably had about 10 other contractors come in for some other work (installing vent hoods, flooring, asbestos removal, etc.) Not everyone was as pleasant as Marty and he helped make everything just work. 9. Additionally they used Presidential TL shingles which look great but I'm told are harder to work with due to their thickness. They were an extremely professional crew who showed up every morning on time and immediately got to work. Each person seemed to know exactly what to do, they were efficient and they appeared to really enjoy each other. Every day they cleaned up after themselves including picking up nails and small bits of roofing.
