Having once been here for a breakfast meeting, we decided to order lunch for me to pick up. We found the menu both here on Yelp and on their Facebook page. It's very clearly written with pricing. Lots of good things to choose from. We called in the order and we're given a 20 minute timeframe - which was more than fine. The young man who helped out when I got there was friendly and easy to work with. I took our food to where lunch was - and that's when we all found our dishes to be amazing. The soup was a mushroom Swiss that was very hearty and warming. The Reuben was one of the better ones I've had - I appreciate the 1000 island on the side so the bread doesn't get soggy. Adorable place! We went on two different days and our food was great both days although coffee could have been stronger. That being said, it far surpassed hotel coffee. The 4 star rating reflects the service, 1 day it was a 5 how the second visit was a 3 star. The first day staff was warm, engaging and helpful. When they made a mistake in our orders, they quickly remedied and were apologetic. Our second experience was less gracious. My friend's menu inquiries were met with obvious annoyance. We were placing a to go order and were obviously trying to order from memory from our previous visit. Instead of offering us menus to look at, the staff just seemed like they wanted to be done with us. I would understand if they were busy but there was no one in line after us. This cute little cafe right off the bay just drew us in from our car cruise down 1st St. on one of those cold winter days at the end of March when you just wish it would all finally be over. Even the plunk car sitting on the ice in the marina seemed to be saying "get it over with already." Coffee is as clear as a light brew of tea (you know, when you're learning to make coffee and you use two scoops of grounds for a twelve cup pot). I wanted some Eggs Benedict, no go as they were out of English muffins. I mean, really? Sunday morning in the 10 o'clock hour and no one can make a run to get more? Or maybe plan on having them for, I don't know, the busiest breakfast day of the week? Orange juice is pasteurized junk, jellies are high fructose corn syrup Smucker's packets. I'll update when I finally eat and give a third star if the food is passable, but otherwise, this has been miserable. Oh, and no windows open nor A/C. Yum, humidity... My friend and I stopped here during our road trip and were so pleasantly surprised! Great food, great coffee and even better service. Sparky was our waitress and she made our experience 10x better. My son was playing a baseball game across the river in marinette and during a break we decided to venture out a see the lake. I searched for 'coffee and tea' on yelp and this little gem came up. So cute!! It was on a Saturday and there was a farmers market across the street at the marina and a live band playing. We snagged a cute table on the charming front porch. It was mid morning and we weren't that hungry so we ordered some hot lattes, hash browns and a plate of bacon. Okay those hash browns were so delicious, we asked for two more orders! The kitchen was closing its breakfast menu down, but the server asked and they agreed to make us the hash browns. Honestly, so so good - I look forward to going back. A+ read more

This is always a favorite spot to stop in Menominee. We sat inside which was really a little too hot. I would suggest fans! The food was excellent as always!! We got the caramel coffee...it was tasty. Bacon was devoured by our two children!! We ordered the chicken salad sandwich, it was excellent!! The only negative would be the flies inside. They were everywhere! But, we'll be back!! We love this cute little place! read more

Stopped here on the way up to munising, it's easy to miss, I actually drove by and had to turn around as its in an old house . What a pleasant surprise , they have done a wonderful job turning it into a neat little cafe , many seats are living room chairs cozily packed around tables , there is outdoor seating that we find not use due to the weather , but it appears to have a nice view of the water . My wife and mother both had the BLT and a tea and I had a blue cheese burger and a Pepsi, everything was good , although the burger was a it on the well done side for my liking. But - my biggest complaint is that they give you tortilla chips instead of fries. On our trips to Menominee, the Serving Spoon is a favorite stop. The first time we were there was two years ago, we had just had a harrowing sail across Green Bay (25 knot winds and 8 foot waves). We stumbled into the Serving Spoon; and were rewarded with calming food and drink. Great place for an excellent brunch or snack. This restaurant is vegetarian friendly with ample options for those who forgo meat. We were just there again. I've rated this place 5 stars on another occasion; but on this last trip they missed the mark by a bit . My salad would have been better a day before. My sandwich would have been better the day before, as the ingredients were a bit long in the tooth. My wife had her normal tuna melt, and deemed it as good as ever. As usual the service was outstanding, our waitress was on the spot and very nice. My wife loves the coffee and they actually serve decent tea. I certainly won't hold a glitch against them. We will definitely stop here next time we are in the area. This is still a great place to have a nosh when in Menominee. The food is usually very well prepared, using superior ingredients.
