We stopped by for lunch one afternoon shortly after they reopened the dining area. We went here because one of my mom's friend's said it was great and she likes supporting local businesses. I also like supporting local businesses. I love me a good Chicago dog so that is what I got. However, I always ask to 86 the green relish. My mom also got a Chicago dog and I stole her sport peppers. My stepdad got the hot pastrami. We also ordered some fries, the fresh cut and the crack. If you are going to order fries, get the crack fries! They are the everything bagel of french fries. YUMMY! This lunch hit the spot. Our order came out pretty quick, and the staff was polite. They were working on a lot of pick up orders and a family came in after us so I think they have a good thing going. Heading to the UP on vacation we used the "Around Me" app to see what was coming up in Escanaba to grab a bite to eat. Several "chains" but wanted something with more of an area flare, and we found it! My husband had the Italian beef combo and I had the (special) beef brisket sandwich. My sandwich was delicious and I couldn't stop asking my husband to "taste" his! The portions were plentiful, which normally is great, but made it hard to finish my "Crack Fries"! On our way back we had to stop again for lunch. Both of us had the cheese steak supreme (I'm pretty sure my husband got the same thing so I wouldn't eat his!) Again, not disappointed!! Man oh man how I want to rate this place higher. It just left me with a bad taste in my mouth so to speak. I came here for lunch with my husband based on their high Yelp review ratings. I ordered the adult grilled cheese (without the sauce...I don't like mustard) and an order of poutine. The grilled cheese was yummy. It had three different kinds of cheese on it and was made atop of fresh bread. The problem was the poutine. It was dripping in grease. It was a small order, and there was no less than a 1/2 inch of grease at the bottom of the container. It gets worse. The friendly young lady who took our order at the counter came around and asked us how our meal was. I told her the poutine was really greasy and then showed her the grease. She said, "Okay. Well, thanks." And just walked away. No apology. No offer to make it right. No nothing. It was food that we paid for that we couldn't finish eating. Totally bummed. read more

This was my first visit to Babaloons and it certainly won't be my last! My husband had the Chicago dog which he described as "well Balanced flavors and delicious". I have to take his word for it since I failed in my attempts to get a bite. I had the Monte Cristo. Wow! The bread was the winner here - flavorful, lightly browned, but not overpowering so the inside ingredients made there presence known. The portion was generous and the homemade cherry coulis elevated the sandwich to a meal! We also shared a basket of chili cheese fries. I say shared loosely because I think I got more than my fair share. I couldn't stop eating them. The fries were crisp with the peel left on for extra flavor. They stood up well to the chili cheese toppings. The chili was meaty and not at all acidy like some tend to be and the cheese was creamy. We will make this a destination the future! read more

So here's the deal. Lunch time and I want something Mediterranean. The red hummus basket with warm, very fresh pita, a great assortment of real olives - no green stuffed things here - was just the ticket. I also asked for sliced tomatoes.
