Leith Noble, my project manager, guided me through every step (and every one of my many mind changes ). He was patient, responsive, and so good at what he does -- even though we never actually met in person! Everything was handled through texts and emails, and it worked perfectly. On the ground, Roberto Martinez was a total gem -- kind, calm, and also super responsive. The rebuild was a long, painful journey thanks to Berkeley's slow permit department and PG&E delays, but after 3 1/2 years the result is gorgeous! Even a year later, Leith still checks in to help with small hiccups. If you're rebuilding and want a team that truly cares and delivers -- choose Mark Scott Construction!

We had a rain event during a roof replacement this past April that flooded our home. Our insurance company recommended we use Mark Scott Construction to handle the "pack-out" of all of our belongings and furniture so our home could be repaired. We had already selected a contractor for construction which I now totally regret. I only wish we had selected Mark Scott to do that work as well. They are "old school" when it comes to putting customer service first. We worked with Alex Alas, the GM of the Restoration Division. Alex came to our house and spent time explaining how everything would work, making us feel comfortable with the process. On pack-out day, Alex sent an experienced crew that carefully wrapped, inventoried, boxed, and removed all our our belongings from our home-- from our books and clothing to our paintings and piano. We literally did nothing-- we just watched as these talented men and women wrapped, disassembled, photographed, packaged and inventoried everything in our 3,200 square foot house in a matter of days. When they left, they had removed 10 rooms of furniture and packed 380 boxes of our belongings. Truly amazing to witness. After our repairs were done, Alex sent his crew back to put everything back the way it was. Their foreman, a young woman named Rosa, had an iPad on which she had taken photos of everything in the home. I had asked Alex for a favor. In the rush of packing out, there had been no time to dust our furniture. I offered to pay extra if Alex's crew could wipe down and clean all of our furniture before it came back into the house. Alex said they always clean all the furniture upon return, but in the house. But Alex had the crew set up a "cleaning area" in our driveway-- no extra charge-- and Rosa and her team meticulously cleaned every piece of furniture before it came back into the home. Finally, after moving 10 rooms and 380 boxes of belongings, one would expect some damage. We did have some minor damage to a few items. What impressed me was Alex's way of handling it. Alex has a "whatever you need " and "we will make this right" attitude. Besides deeply apologizing for the minimal damage we incurred, Alex took care of repairing and/or replacing everything without any hassle or pushback. Kudo's to MS Construction and Restoration. I wanted to write this review to let others know of our positive experience. I found other 5-star reviews when I got to the site, which confirmed that my positive experience wasn't a "one-off". We're going to be remodeling our master bath after the first of the year and we'll be using Mark Scott Construction to do the job. We are looking forward to working with them again. Thank you, Alex, Rosa, and the crew!

To whom it may concern;…read more A few weeks ago, we went through a stressful situation in which water damage wrecked just about our entire kitchen. The first remediation company that responded, inspected our home and set a few fans out and cut some parts of the rug out. They left our home and didn't return for several weeks. During the weeks that went by, i noticed nats and could smell moisture as days progressed. I'm no professional in this business but knew that this wasn't good. I was referred to Rapid Response Remediation (RRR) and decided to give them a call. This team responded out immediately and informed us that moisture levels were high, mold was growing and the situation wasn't good and could be health hazardous potentially. Employee Israel and Cory responded to the scene. These guys are punctual, respectful (addressing everyone by Sir and ma'am), dependable and safe. Most importantly, they were transparent as they explained what they were doing. They got right down to business. They tore out the walls , ceilings , and showed me the mold. I was quite surprised by this and also upset at the other company that failed to do their job the first time. The team was here for several days and the mold issue was more complex. They removed infected cabinets, drywall and sheet rock. They took their time removing items in the kitchen precisely and worked diligently. It was also nice to see the supervisor respond to the scene just to make sure things were going right. Thank you Mr. Aaron for your support through out this process. You made sure things got done in a timely matter and made sure everything was CLEANED! You always answered when I called too. All in all, I highly recommend this business for anyone that goes through this type of chaotic damage. This company will make everything right. Thanks again.

The owner even came out a couple times to oversee the project and get updates. Unfortunately the bad is really bad. After paying them WAY more than I expected to renovate a small room (over $75,000), they sent another invoice for $36,000! Their onsite team had damaged the project so extensively that I had to have an expert from Arizona DRIVE TO STOCKTON EMERGENTLY to fix the damage. I should not have had to pay ANY of that final invoice, but I made a fair offer of $15,000 to settle and instead they hired a lawyer to sue me. I am a 30 year veteran of the US Army and I will not be taken advantage of. The owner didn't even have the decency to call me and discuss this man to man. Stay away from CRC. Bad business. Bad people.

The communication with the front office was…read moregreat, the quote process I thought went smoothly but they were not able to deliver when it came to the work. The work being done was in a bedroom and there was a lack of effort in keeping area clean. I had paper laid out to keep existing floor clean and the paper was ripped. There was dings left on the door molding from hoses being used to texture wall. Employees cleaned their paint and plastering tools on our front lawn and side flower bed which left paint and plaster in two areas. There is much room for improvement which is what warranted this review. I reached out to the company to express my concerns and was told that there was nothing they can do to make up for these defects. I went with CRC to patch a wall and patch flooring that had been damaged by a water leak. The representative came in person and visually inspected the area that needed work. He provided a quote which I believed to be fair for the work being done and scheduled an appointment. When the contractor got here he communicated that the wall would be good to go but he had concerns about the flooring since it wasn't the type of flooring that the representative quoted for. Again, representative came in person and saw the wall and the type of flooring we had, nothing to be surprised by here. The contractor made some calls and communicated that he would make it work but would have his flooring specialist come the following week to complete job. I agreed and we moved forward. This should have been a 2 day job according to what was communicated but it turned into a prolonged 3 day job and no flooring repair. The first day they poorly patched the wall and had to come back the next day to do the wall all over again since the job was that poorly done. The flooring specialist came the following week and communicated to the contractor that he did not want to take on the job because it would be too tedious to remove 13 boards instead recommended that I replace the entire bedroom floor. My quote quadrupled in price with their suggestion to replace entire room. They did a fine job on the wall the second time around I decided not to move forward with the flooring because of the miscommunication on their end and the huge quote increase. I was left with a half completed job, dinged up door moldings and paint on my lawn/flower bed.
