I had an unfinished kitchen remodel project for several years. I needed a tile back-splash…read moreinstalled. I called several local contractors to bid on the job. I called and spoke with Jeff from JC Construction. Jeff came to my house and inspected the project and gave me several tips and ideas for completing the project. I was so impressed with Jeff that I asked him about the possibility of adding under-cabinet lighting to the project. Jeff told me he could easily add the lighting but if I wanted it done he would have to run the wiring before the tile work. Later that evening Jeff e-mailed me a written estimate. I was pleasantly surprised to find the quote was very reasonable. In fact his quote for both the lighting and tile work was about the same as others have quoted just for the tile work. I immediately called Jeff and hired him for the job. Jeff and I agreed on a time schedule for the project and I was well on my way to having a completed kitchen remodel. Jeff always arrived at my home on time to start the day. He was always polite and considerate while interacting with me and my wife. He kept the mess to a minimum in my house and always left the work area clean of debris and tools each day. Jeff never hesitated to consult with me or my wife when there were options during the project. Jeff completed the job within the time he quoted and I am extremely happy with the job and level of service that JC construction has performed. Their onsite team had damaged the project so extensively that I had to have an expert from Arizona DRIVE TO STOCKTON EMERGENTLY to fix the damage. I should not have had to pay ANY of that final invoice, but I made a fair offer of $15,000 to settle and instead they hired a lawyer to sue me. I am a 30 year veteran of the US Army and I will not be taken advantage of. The owner didn't even have the decency to call me and discuss this man to man. Stay away from CRC. Bad business. The work being done was in a bedroom and there was a lack of effort in keeping area clean. I had paper laid out to keep existing floor clean and the paper was ripped. There was dings left on the door molding from hoses being used to texture wall. Employees cleaned their paint and plastering tools on our front lawn and side flower bed which left paint and plaster in two areas. There is much room for improvement which is what warranted this review. I reached out to the company to express my concerns and was told that there was nothing they can do to make up for these defects. I went with CRC to patch a wall and patch flooring that had been damaged by a water leak. The representative came in person and visually inspected the area that needed work. He provided a quote which I believed to be fair for the work being done and scheduled an appointment. When the contractor got here he communicated that the wall would be good to go but he had concerns about the flooring since it wasn't the type of flooring that the representative quoted for. Again, representative came in person and saw the wall and the type of flooring we had, nothing to be surprised by here. The contractor made some calls and communicated that he would make it work but would have his flooring specialist come the following week to complete job. I agreed and we moved forward. This should have been a 2 day job according to what was communicated but it turned into a prolonged 3 day job and no flooring repair. The first day they poorly patched the wall and had to come back the next day to do the wall all over again since the job was that poorly done. The flooring specialist came the following week and communicated to the contractor that he did not want to take on the job because it would be too tedious to remove 13 boards instead recommended that I replace the entire bedroom floor. My quote quadrupled in price with their suggestion to replace entire room. They did a fine job on the wall the second time around I decided not to move forward with the flooring because of the miscommunication on their end and the huge quote increase. I was left with a half completed job, dinged up door moldings and paint on my lawn/flower bed.
