I can't give zero stars, so one it is! American Home shield sent them out to my home (using my $125 service fee) . They said we needed to replace the furnace. American Home shield denied my claim and said that it was 'pre-existing' due to the statements /review from this contractor. I sent them the inspection report to share with AHS and they never submitted it. I sent it to AHS and they too did not respond. (so bad service on both parts) We did not get any follow-up phone calls, emails, nothing about our rebuttal on the denial from AHS, but were under the impression that Service 1 was working on it. (Nope, nada, nothing!) All the while, our upstairs has been freezing cold at night. I ended up paying someone else to come out and take a look. Lo and behold, it took one small part to be replaced and it has been working for days now. The new guy charged me $225. I called to cancel AHS after this fiasco. I have to share that they refunded me my $125 and gave me 2 months free. So, I will give them another chance, but I don't want this company coming back out to my home, ever. read more

American Home Shield designated air coil repair service to Service One Air. Parts were covered by warranty and the insurance claim was denied due to code violation. In effort to reduce my total costs, I signed up for the annual membership. They only offered me 5% discount when the membership actually comes with 10% discount for repair. I was told that they would reimburse me for the over charge but they never did. Very unethical business conduct. I ended up spending 3600 for the coil repair labor alone. I would not recommend this business to any of my friends or family. read more

This company will intentionally find problems that are not present and not complete a full diagnostic work up. In early October our ac stopped cooling. Air was blowing just not cool. Called American home shield our warranty and they sent out this AC company. They were very quick in that regard. They diagnosed the problem as a leak in the attics cooling coils and said it was going to need 5 pounds of coolant plus new coils. This took 5 days for them to talk to the warranty. Meanwhile it's high 80s to low 90s with 80% plus humidity. And when they got back to us they said the unit needed to "be made up to code" prior to replacing the coils. We got a second opinion outside of the warranty. Full diagnostic study done. He found NONE of those issues found by service one air. The float switch was turned off because of build up within the pipe. In ADDITION this unit is completely up to code per guidelines set after 2002 since it was last upgrade in 2010ish. He replaced the pipe and the unit has been working without issues now for about a month. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. read more

This company exceeded my expectations. As a perfectionist this is very hard to do. My heating stopped working just before New Year's holiday. After making my request for service with my home warranty company, Mandy from Service One immediately reached out to me to schedule my appointment. Wiley arrived the following day to diagnose the heating element kit was no longer operative and needed to be replaced. He took all the information, the part was ordered. They worked diligently even during the holiday to get my part ordered and installed the following day of the New Year holiday. Kenny was able to follow up with the installation and get everything working properly and resolved any issues. Mandy and Brandon kept me updated on everything along the way. The dispatch manager Bobbie immediately followed up after the installation. Literally, within less than 30 minutes of the completed repair to make sure that everything went well and that I was satisfied. This company worked expeditiously to make sure that I was pleased with everything along the way and took proper care of my homes interior which is extremely important to me as well as most as I can imagine. For the reasons stated in my comments above, I feel highly confident in recommending this company. I can only assume with the service that they provided me, if there were any issues along the way with any of their services they provide that they would make sure they reached out and did anything they could to make the repair right and the customer happy. Beware this company! We purchased a $17,500 top of the line Rheem HVAC system from Service One two years ago and they have never been able to make it work correctly. There have been literally dozens of service calls for alarms and system failures since the system was installed. Last week, as we sat in an 80 degree home with multiple alarms registering on the system, Alan Davis, the owner of Service One, told us that there was nothing wrong with the system and we were just difficult customers. This was eight days after a Service One technician had cleared the most recent series of alarms and said that the system was cooling correctly. Another company was called and came out immediately. They found a frozen coil, three pounds of excess refrigerant overcharge in the system, loose wiring, an incorrect setting on one of the motherboard dip switches, and leaking duct work. Friday 9/1/23 You have to appreciate the integrity of a company when one of their AC techs says I need a repair and my warranty company,American home shield, says my out-of-pocket portion will be $3800 and then I ask the ladies in the office if they can send another tech out (same company) for a second opinion and they were happy to do that. The 2nd tech found, by asking me questions, that I had replaced my filter prior to the 1st tech arriving but that it had been dirty on the day the AC failed when it was 108° outside. My thermostat was set at 74° on the day the AC failed. Probably needed to be at 78 to handle the 108 day. As a result of the filter change and the office staff willingness to send a 2nd tech out to be ABSOLUTELY certain on whether I needed to spend $3800, I do not need a new evaporator coil. I need to change my filter more often. (I normally change it once a month on a 1300 square-foot home and one indoor dog with short fur and 2 indoor cats) and keep my thermostat set higher when it's triple digits outside. Thank you for your willingness to send another tech out for a 2nd opinion! Unfortunately, it took three days of keeping the AC off, then turning it back on again, then turn it back off again to unfreeze the ice off the coils inside and outside. Thank you Ian! Almost immediately after submitting my claim, Service One contacted me to schedule an appointment the next morning. Throughout the process I was informed who and when they would be arriving, parts were located efficiently, and they pursued a solution until my furnace problem was resolved. Our AC has been out for two days in 100 degree weather so we called to make an appointment, and the earliest appointment they had was 4 days out (completely understandable it's summer they are probably busy). They gave me the appointment window time of 9am-11am well that came and went so I called to check up on the delay. The lady on the phone was super nice and said he was close by and should be finishing up his appointment and on to me next. Well an hour went by with nothing so I called again and got no time frame, another hour went by and the same thing, it has now been over 4 hours since our appointment window time and no one can tell me anything. I'm a prisoner in my own home waiting on this dude! I had to call into work because of them. Unacceptable. read more

Not sure why they have a low rating on Yelp. I guess some people get really grumpy in the heat! I was assigned Service One through AHS. They called within one hour of when I made my request with AHS to make an appointment. Although they were not able to come out immediately, they did put me on their cancelation list. Jordan S., a highly skilled tech, showed up on time and was very professional. He fixed the outdoor AC unit and noted that it needed Freon. Although I wasn't happy with the cost of the Freon, neither Service One nor Jordan set the price of R22. The market and lack of supply do! If I have to request service again through AHS I will specifically request Service One. When Service One calls for an appointment I will specifically request Jordan. Service One was selected for us by American Home Shield to repair a problem with the downstairs A/C unit not working. Only had to pay the service call fee to AHS and they came out and fixed the issue and the A/C worked for a few weeks. and things looked okay. This was in June. Then in late July the downstairs A/C stopped working again. Once again AHS selected Service One as the repair contractor. They came out and said they "fixed" the problem. That night while watching TV I started hearing a plopping sound from the area around the stairs. It got worse and when I finally checked it out I discovered a steady stream of water coming down from the ceiling on the stairs. After turning off the A/C the water stopped. Once again AHS was called and once again they sent Service One. This time said my A/C was frozen and they can't do anything until it thaws out. This led of course to more water flowing down from the ceiling. A couple of days later they came out again and told me that I had problems with the coils in the attic and that I would need Freon as both systems were low on Freon and that would be several thousand dollars, so they recommended the entire system (both upstairs and downstairs) be replaced and it would be about $16K. I refused that and contacted the gentleman who works on the A/C at my business and he came and after spending about 10 minutes looking at my systems, he said "A. You do not need Freon. B. I fixed the system,, it was a minor problem". Since then the A/C has worked great and the total bill was $70. Shout out to Dan Eubanks best A/C man in town. And extremely honest too! Then I got a voice mail from Service One stating they had worked out a deal with AHS where I would ONLY have to pay $2450 not sure if that was for repairs or a new unit but with a nice cold house all that was worth was a chuckle and delete. Finally thank you to all the Yelpers who had reviewed this company before me because after reading your reviews I went into this with my eyes open and ready for their nonsense. Beware of doing business with this company. They were sent out by AHS to diagnose the problem with my AC. I was told that I had a clog in the condensate line and that the technician cleared it. I was also told that I had a leaking evaporator coil and was low on refrigerant. I decided to get a second opinion and am I glad I did. It turns out, the tech didn't unclog the line as he had told me he did and instead bypassed the safety float switch with a stick. I also had my evaporator coil and condenser checked for leaks and none were found. I called to speak to a manager at this company and he was condescending and seemed aggravated that I was even bringing this matter to his attention. I provided him with photos supporting the still clogged line and pressure levels to support no leak. No response, never an apology, just bad business. TDLR complaint will be filed. read more

Had Service one air come out to diagnose my AC troubles. Started out great, the tech knew the issue and started to pull out my blower motor. In the process he stepped through the ceiling creating the hole you see in the picture. After making sure the technician was ok he continued to try to fix my ac problem. The technician had to take my ac blower to try and find a part for it. Hours later he returned saying the warranty company denied the claim and it would cost $1000 to repair the issue. At that time the technician told me that the company would take care of the damaged ceiling and i trusted that to be the case. He did mention that since this was through a warranty company Service One Air Conditioning was losing money on this and that he couldn't do anything else. Before the technician left he gave me the number for the manager to contact about fixing the hole in my ceiling. I called and was told that it was my fault that he fell through the ceiling. They are refusing to repair the hole, stating that I had an unsafe working environment in my attic. Horrible service. Takes forever and he broke something then complained that I told him he had to fix what he broke. If it was even broke. He replace with a substandard shut off switch. There was a breaker. Now i am left with a pull switch? I am not sure it is code. Definitely not equal to what I had. So after he repaired that he told me my air conditioner was old and I needed to buy a new system. I thought that is why I have ahs to fix things? I called someone else who was able to get our air going with out wanting all new costly repair. read more

On 8 25/20 this company was sent by American Home Shield for a claim of non cooling AC , they sent a tech to do a diagnosis and suggested to change the air compressor , we were charged for this repair $1500 out of pocket , this didn't work and they sent a second tech a week later who made a different diagnosis and suggested a different repair , this time $1445 out of pocket and also didn't work, then "it must be the board" but you have to buy a new board because AHS will not pay for it and also didn't work, then we stopped . No way to make them responsible for this lack of competency Terrible diagnosis of the problem, multiple technicians with no knowledge and poor repair , we had to go to another company to fix the bad work done with poor materials they used the cheapest compressor in the market.
