Absolutely terrible! I got charged $1k for a battery and 3 wires on my trunk because it wouldn't open... they charged me $700 for labor which is ridiculous. Service at the desk was terrible they didn't even listen to me when initially brought the car in.. I was explaining what was going on with my trunk and I even pointed to the wires in my trunk AND I left the trunk open so they wouldn't have to crawl through my backseat... it was like the guy was in another world smh.. a week later he lied and said I didn't explain anything to him about the trunk.. Service writer David Fulton is a dishonest and shady human being. My grandsons car 2014 Chevy Equinox suffered a rear main seal blowout due to a known susceptible condition with the PCV system during extremely cold temperatures. When the issue was discussed with him he told my grandson to have the vehicle towed to the dealership and they would take care of it at no charge. Of course that turned out to not be the case as 3 days later he called to tell my grandson it would cost more than $2,600.00 to make repairs. This after he paid $260.00 to have the car towed to the dealership. Faced with an amount we felt was out of line we located a local repair shop and decided to have the vehicle picked up and taken there. my grandson went by the service department to get the key and was told he would have to come back later as the mechanic needed to put some parts back on the vehicle. He returned on his lunch break and was told he had to pay $200.00 for a diagnostic fee before they would give him the key. Again, this was never told to him at anytime during this process. 2.5 hours.... for an oil change.... need I say more?! We arrived in Memphis at 0630 and the truck was at 4% oil life. Our final destination was Nashville, but we figured we should hit up a Chevy dealership in Memphis right when they open so it hopefully wouldn't take all day. (Side note: we only chose to go to a Chevrolet dealership because it's a 2019 Silverado so it's within the first 12 months of Chevrolet Care. Otherwise, I would've definitely gone to a Take 5 or some quick place). Well, we got there right when they opened... but didn't help much. Only $12.95 for an oil change -- which is a really great deal, considering you'll normally spend around $20 for a decent oil change. My Wife and I were looking to buy two vehicles so we shopped around and ended up at Serra, we were looking for a Traverse/Equinox and a Colorado/Silverado we found some that we liked and started the negotiations... I had asked if they could install a factory integrated trailer brake controller in the Colorado... They had to go check with Parts and Service... They come back with we can't find the parts... I google and send them the part numbers... they run off to talk to part/service... they come back ok we can do. As negotiation continues we could not come to an agreement so we left and went to another dealer the next day. While at the other dealer the salesperson from Serra calls and quotes me a new price and trade in value, $27 for the Colorado and $31 for the Durango... Great! My wife was happy with her decision at the other dealer, so I went back to sign the paperwork. It takes the usual forever to get the paperwork ready, but then we are finally in the room. We start signing and I notice sales price on the truck is $27,899, not the $27,000 I was told on the phone... Also, the Trailer brake was not in the deal... At this point, they informed me that they are a "No Haggle" dealer for used inventory and they won't change that... So I said if they install the factory integrated trailer brake controller for free then we had a deal... And I signed... So I bring the truck back in later that week to get the factory integrated trailer brake controller installed leave the truck with them and head home... the next day my wife picks it up and when I get out to look at it they did not install a factory integrated trailer brake controller they installed a giant aftermarket eyesore. So the back and forth begins, I bring it up there, then they don't have the right parts, I give the parts manager all the part numbers, then wait some more.... then bring it back up there and they again don't have everything they need. This went on for about two months... then I am told that I need to talk to the owner of the dealership... So I send an email to the owner, and he quickly calls. Then comes back with my techs say it can't be done... I argue and he goes back and schedules a time to bring it in and have the factory integrated trailer brake controller installed and the kick panel replaced (this is the panel they drilled holes in to mount the aftermarket one) I drop it off and then get a call that it's impossible to do this install.... Again I argue, having found multiple posts online with the required parts and labor. They have a Field Engineer call me, and he will not say the words "not possible" but that GM advises that they don't do it. So let me break it down for the readers of this that may not know, It is not an easy job, they have to rewire most of the truck and reprogram the dash unit... this is in addition to the parts, so the approximate cost is about $600 plus labor. $600 for $899 seems like a deal in the dealers favor right? Well, I guess $899 for nothing seemed better... They did repair the damage that they caused during the aftermarket install... So after I get the truck back home, I have a call with the owner. He askes what they can do to make it right.. I asked him to actually do what was promised... to which he retorted that the only thing they agreed to was to install a brake controller (so apparently I needed to have a lawyer in the room when signing the paperwork to ensure that they would keep to the spirit of the deal.) He refused.. so I asked for my traded vehicle back and to dissolve the deal... Now I knew full well at this point almost two months later that my Durango was gone but I had to ask... he offered to sell me another car.... I said no I want my Durango back, it was fully loaded and I could not possibly find one on any of their lots for the $31,000 they offered me for mine (they sold mine for $36,000 if I recall correctly) And we left the phone call at that, with no resolution. I send a text to him sometime later and asked that he honor the original quoted price of $27,000... he countered offering to split it... well let's just go to the screenshots... And that is that... If you still want to buy a car from them just be very careful about what is said vs what shows up on the contract, and if you have any doubt walk away. read more

Took my Tahoe in to get the air fixed. Left it there for 2 days and they diagnosed the problem as my evaporator gasket was bad. $400 in labor and $100 in parts and they told me to come and pick it up. The next day, AC is running hot again so I take it back. They tell me the evaporator is bad and that it is going to be $2500 to replace but that they can do it for $1800. I decline the repair. When I go to pick up the car, I speak with Tyler about the issue and ask for a partial refund for the initial repair, which was grossly misdiagnosed. He said no. I explained that it was not fair to charge the full price for something that shouldnt have been done in the first place. He said no again. I had fully intended on doing more business there and purchasing a new vehicle but not anymore. Your loss...not mine. I hope the $400 was worth it in the long run. read more

If you are looking for a used vehicle, I advise you to look elsewhere. My 19 year old son is looking to buy a used truck and found one that he liked here. My husband and I went with him last week to check it out and the check engine light came on when it was started. My husband asked what was wrong with the truck and was told by the used car manager that it was probably nothing, could be something as simple as the gas cap not being put on properly. The manager then went on to tell us that the truck was priced so low he would barely be making a few hundred dollars on it so had decided not to have the Serra mechanics check it out since their labor costs would eat up most of the profit. Something about that man did not sit right with my husband and I so we asked our mechanic to take a look at it. It took us three days to get it to the mechanic and in that time, the price of the truck dropped twice from $10,152 to $8852. We finally got the truck to our mechanic and he said it was destroyed. The main problems were several oil leaks and the oil pump not working. He said the truck was going to need a new engine in the near future and wasn't worth even $4000. I don't have proof the manager knew this but I don't believe for a second he took that truck as a trade in without having his shop look at it and I don't believe it is a coincidence that he dropped the price as much as he did in just three days without knowing it was trash. I was traveling in Memphis from out of town when I discovered the headlight on my 2010 Malibu was out. Unfortunately, it is designed in such a way that the average human at a hotel cannot change the bulb. The service dept was able to work me in on a busy Friday schedule to get it changed so that I could enjoy the weekend in Memphis without fear of being ticketed for a burned-out bulb. Very irritated with the treatment of a customer that just recently purchased a $33,400 truck. My wife and I purchased a '14 Silverado on the 9th. We were notified eleven days later that our vehicle has two recalls. We were told to bring our vehicle in immediately as our warranty wouldn't be good unless we did. We did as we were told, however, we were in a hurry and left with the keys in my pocket. As we returned to drop off the keys I pulled into a loading area. My wife stayed in the car... still running. When I returned and tried to leave I was blocked in by a truck driven by a Serra Chevrolet employee. I asked him to please move as I was late for work and he simply said you're in a loading zone and continued to walk past me. "Kevin" (service dept) then came out and began to berate me. He made derogatory comments about my age as well as confronting me in an aggressive manor. The treatment I received was completely unnecessary and completely unprofessional by both employees. I apologized for pulling into the loading zone for less than a minute with my wife in the running vehicle. I will never do that again!!! Also, at this time they still have our '14 Silverado... they were adamant about me coming in immediately, but then they called us and explained that they didn't have the parts to repair it. I had a horrible experience with the service department and I would not recommend bringing your vehicle here to be serviced. When I first called, I spoke with Ben and told him that my car was leaking gas and check engine light was on. He said it would be a few days before he could get a diagnostic because they had a lot of cars. I said okay. I had it towed there on a saturday. It wasn't processed in until that tuesday. I didn't receive a diagnostic until 2 weeks later. Somehow a few days turned into 2 weeks. So he said I needed a new fuel pump to fix the leak and solenoid for check engine light. I said okay. So he said the parts were going to be ordered. I waited about a week before I called for an update. When I called, Ben said he was waiting for a part. I waited another week. Had a hard time getting in contact with Ben and each time (at least 3) that I did contact him, he said he would check with the mechanic and call back with an update. He never called back either time. I always had to call multiple times to reach him. During this time that my car is in the shop, I have to catch ubers everywhere and pay people to get back and forth. On day 39 of waiting for my car, I asked to speak to the manager, Angela. I didn't want to deal with Ben anymore and made that clear. I told her the situation. She sounded very unbothered/unconcerned about it. She looked into the matter and called back the same day stating the part was discontinued and they would have to pick up some generic part from a local napa store and it should be ready within like 2 or 3 days. I asked her why nobody informed me of this on the numerous occasions of me calling. She didn't have any answers for me, just told me she only just found out at that moment. She said she would contact me when the part arrives to update me and I would only be dealing with her at that point. The next day(day 40) I get a call and its Ben again telling me the car is ready. I go the day after to pick up my car and I pay the bill and Ben hands me the key and tells me it is parked around the back. Then asks if I want him to go and get it. What kind of question is that? So he pulls the car around and as I'm looking at my bill I only see an explanation for the leak being fixed. I also noticed when he brought the car around, the check engine light was on. I asked him about it and he got the mechanic involved. The mechanic said the code was coming back for the solenoid and he needed to take it to the work area to make sure it was put on right. So I'm having to wait even longer for my car to be ready. He comes to me and says he forgot to replace the solenoid because he was doing the fuel pump....okay. So I brought all of this to Angela's attention when I was there and again she seemed unconcerned so I just left. I spoke with the general manager Sam and he basically apologized for the lack of communication during the process and for the fact that I still had to wait for work to be done when I got there. Called the day before to see if I needed an appointment for an oil change and that I had some light's out on the front of our Suburban and felt it was idling a little rough (We had to replace the engine the week before at a different dealership out of state and I wanted to make sure everything was ok.) Was told that I could just pull in on Saturday without an appointment. Got there and was told that yes, they could do the oil change but would have to make an appointment for the rest of the diagnostics as they don't do that on Saturdays. A little annoyed as they told me they could do all of it when I brought it in, but ok. So I made an appointment for 9:30am the following Tuesday and was told it wouldn't take long. When I drop the car off that Tuesday morning, I was told they would have it a couple of days!! Was not offered a loaner car and was not prepared for them to have it a couple of days. It got worse when I finally heard from them on Thursday afternoon with the diagnosis. I was told that it needed new motor mounts and that though they had the parts, it would be another couple of days before they could get it done. I told them that was unacceptable as I needed my vehicle back before Saturday. I was told they would do there best, but it wouldn't likely happen. Meanwhile, because I didn't have my suburban back, I had to rent a truck from U-Haul to deal with some things I needed to haul on Saturday. FINALLY GOT MY CAR BACK THE FOLLOWING MONDAY!!! It took almost a full 7 days to replace a headlight and marker light and replace the motor mounts. I was not impressed at all by the service I received and will not take another vehicle to them for any kind of work. read more

I have had issues since July 2014 when I took my car in to the Bartlett location for the seat belt recall. Since then my 'Service Air Bag' light keeps going on. I have taken my car in 3 times to get it 'serviced' and/or repaired. The light STILL GOES ON and off and I was told today, they did not know if the airbag may open on it's own, WHILE I AM DRIVING, or maybe not open at all in case of an accident. My 2015 Tahoe (purchased Jan 2015) is leaking water at the 3rd row seat belt on the left side when raining. This was the second time I've dropped it off and the second time it wasn't fixed. A service representative verified the leak two days prior to me dropping it off, but the technician was unable to find a leak after "two hours of spraying water on the vehicle" I washed the vehicle the day after picking it up and it is still leaking. We purchased a used car from Serra Bartlett and noticed a noise a few days after getting it. I took it to a Ford dealership because it was a Ford. They told me the car had been wrecked. I called Serra and told them what I was told and was told that the carfax stated it had not been wrecked. I then took the car to another Ford dealership who also stated the car had been wrecked and showed me all of the things they saw that were indicators. I did go back to serra and get another car but now our payments are much higher. What's bad is the wrecked car is now back on their used car lot for sale. read more

In the end I am happy with the work done on my vehicle. I do have a complaint about the appointments and scheduling. I brought in my vehicle for a scheduled appointment at 7am for an 8:00 am appointment. I was told that the services would take until noon the following day. I was a little surprised that it would take that long for service but I had a ride and my wife and I agreed we could make it for a day and a half with one vehicle. I get a call at 5pm the day I had an 8am SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT and was told that NO WORK WAS PERFORMED on my vehicle for the entire day. I was stunned. I am thinking, what is the point of an appointment? The agent on the phone politely offered a loaner car that could be picked up the following morning. From this point it took until Friday morning to pick up the vehicle. I believe all the work except for a wash was completed on Thursday. This dealership has a good deal on oil changes and when I actually have the time to wait 2-3 hours (which is never these days with a toddler) I know to expect the long service time, but when I bring my vehicle in for a scheduled appointment and there is no progress for the entire day, I believe that is completely unacceptable. David the customer service agent I was dealing with was a very nice fellow. He was honest that no work was performed for the day and provided a vehicle which made a huge difference. The maintainence was superbly performed and everything thus far is in perfect working order. I am happy with the service performed on my vehicle and with David's candid approach to the situation. When I spend $2,000 for Maintainence on my vehicle I expect work to begin on my vehicle when I arrive. I there waiting for the doors to roll up at 7am. No excuse. This dealership has some serious problems with scheduling. If the oil changes are that backed up then you need more techs or less business for a given day. read more

I purchased a used 2000 chevy Silverdo pickup truck long bed white back in May 2017. Sales person repeatedly states this is a good truck after I asked several times what was some of the problems with the truck so I could decided if I worked to do the work on it. I know buying a used vehicle you buy as is, but once we took it home the next day I was having problems starting the vehicle plus it was missing. So I brought it back to them the next day and paid to have a diagnostics test on it. They kept the truck over night called me and stated all they see is that it needs a battery. I asked for the diagnostics print out and I got a little piece of paper with just codes only. I paid over two hundred dollars to replace the battery. Picked up the vehicle so in the mean time the truck was missing, hard time starting it, and I felt like something was wrong sure enough October 2017 the engine light came on. I immediately knew that Sierra Bartlett cleared the codes of the truck knowing that this truck had all kinds of issues. I took it to another dealership to tell me that it has low fuel pressure, fuel pump, injectors, the distributor cap was broken, two wires burned out, two bad spark plugs, oxygen sensor the list goes on. I just wanted to know if I paid Sierra for a diagnostic after I purchase this junk why could they just been truthful about the problem. I recently purchased a my third vehicle, a new 2014 Silverado from Serra. I purchased this truck for my wife and she had trouble seeing while backing up so I wanted to have the back up camera option installed. I called their service department because I wanted them to do it but they told me they would not install it if the option was not on the truck already. After extensive research on this option, I found that the display was already the correct display and all it needed was the camera wired in for the option. I found it difficult to understand why they would not take the advantage of doing this for a loyal customer and making the money but they turned me away. Southern Automotive Accessories here in Memphis installed it for me in less than 2 hours. I think I have purchased my last vehicle from Serra. read more

I called last week and made an appointment for my 2015 Corvette Stingray Z51 for 3 days hence at 8:30 AM. I stated it needed an oil change, the memory seat function was not working, right rear brake squealed at low speed (second time been in for that), and there is delayed and/or hard shift and "clunk" when it shifts between 1st and 2nd . When I called late in the day, the Service Consultant informed me that they "hadn't even touched my car" yet because they were short-handed, and wanted to keep it overnight until Saturday. On Saturday, AM, I received a call from the Consultant stating they would "see me Monday". I picked up my car Monday and noticed that the memory seat adjustment still did not function _ the Consultant told me the service tech told him "a setting in the radio was wrong". (BTW the "settings" were all correct in Settings). I was told they could not hear the any rear brake squealing after they drove it for 3 miles. There was no information about the transmission problem. BTW, I Googled the memory seat issue, and found a YouTube video that showed how to reset the seat memory. Do your Techs have access to Google? So, I had an "appointment", but had to wait for 3 days to just have the oil changed! FYI I did not buy a $77,000 piece of Chevrolet's marquis product just to have people who are not certified screwing around with my "pride and joy". Folks: the Serra Organization does not care about the car or the customer who will spends big bucks on the highest-prestige Chevrolet model. Tadge Juechter would be pissed (Google the name). There is no coordination of depts or services, the Service technicians are not trained, the staff has no idea what's going on in the service area, and no one claims responsibility. My son bought his first vehicle which is a used truck from Serra Chevrolet. The truck was nice and in decent good condition when he drove it. He picked it up and less than 24 hours later the check engine light was on. He went back to the dealership to be told "too bad" you bought it as is. My son took it to a mechanic and found out that when they detailed the car before pick up they got water up in the sensor which now needs to be replaced. Being a single mom, I called the salesman and asked if they would at least pay for labor or have their mechanic install the sensor they ruined and I was told no, it was sold as is. Well that is fine but, you can know one thing that is for sure a fact, a happy customer might tell 5 people about your business if you are lucky! However, an unhappy customer will tell 500!!!! Working in the banking business and coming in contact with people wanting loans, etc. I am sure I will have the opportunity to spread the word about this terrible dealership!!!!!!!! read more

terrible service & follow up. made appt to take my car that was purchased at serra on sat. told them up front i had to have my car back by wed evening due to going out of town for a week. car engine light was coming on & having starting problems. i arrived at dealer on mon. and again told the service person that i had to have the car back by wed. evening. called to ckeck on tues. & was told they were not able to look at the car today. i reminded the service person that i needed it by wed. called back wed & was told due to back log they would not be able to look at my car.. i offered to delay my trip another day & pick up on thur. evening. again told due to back log they would not be able to look at car. that was over 3 days they had my car with a 3 day appt notice. called jim keras & explained my situation. they told me to bring the car to them & they assured my they would take a look at my car on wed. picked up my car on wed. from jim carras. the service guy at jim keras was very friendly & knowledgeable. service guy at serra had no clue or how to take care of a customer. think twice before you go to serra. read more
