Anyway I would like to give Kudos to the excellent customer service that this particular location has extended to me and my family. when walking in you are greeted, asked what your looking for and directed to the section that may have what your looking for. After that they notify the associate in or near that dept that you are headed their way so they may assist you. On this particular occasion we were returning a bike recently purchased, as it had a manufacturer defect. Upon calling the store I explained the situation to Travis, the store Mgr and he quickly went to check stock to replace the defective product unfortunately they did not have one, so instead he offered to upgrade the bike at no cost to us and said he had a few choices my Son could pick from. Upon arriving we were met by SJ another store Mgr and informed us that he had been made aware of the situation and was expecting us, he than called back to the department associate to let them know we were on the way back to him. After my Son made his selection to our surprise SJ showed up back in the bike department to be a second set of eyes that completed the safety checklist that was performed by Moe the on duty bike tech at the time and also to make sure the transition went as smoothly at possible. I personally have not received this level of excellence in customer service for a very long time and even upon asking about a new shipment of YETI coolers SJ advised me to call the store as to check stock so I don't waste a trip. But in the end if you have any needs as far as any type of sporting goods this would be the place that I would recommend the only thing that seems to be lacking is the fishing gear which is no fault of their own blame COVID for that. But honestly even though we live closer to another location this is now my "new" home store. Definitely recommend on customer service only if that gets you in there. What started as a simple exchange of soccer cleats. Turn into a stressful morning. Should have simply arrived and gotten help to return and place an order for a new size. Instead had me wait 20 min. For her to say that her system is down. And then I have to download the app and have it shipped to my house. She returned the credit to a gift card and told me to download the app and go re order my cleats. and now I can't order them as it won't let me ship to the store. And shipping it to my house is 14$ more expensive. Everything from the online purchase, pick up ,return went great. Leaving me to basically fix the problem myself. Yesterday, March 6th, the weather was miserable. Cold, windy, light snow and rain. Not the kind of day you want to be outside, let alone skiing. So I figured it was the perfect day to finally give Scheels a try. I ended up spending five hours in the store and taking more than 250 photos, and this place absolutely blew my mind. There were sports and equipment sections I didn't even know existed. The store truly has everything you could possibly need and then some. What impressed me most was the staff. They were knowledgeable and helpful but didn't hover every five seconds like some stores do, which allowed me to really explore and absorb everything. The shoe selection was outstanding with every kind of running shoe, ski boot, work boot and outdoor footwear you could imagine, and the shoe staff were clearly well trained helping customers. I also spent about 45 minutes in the luggage section, which was surprisingly impressive. It's clearly a curated department run by someone who truly understands travel. I spoke with a luggage specialist who I believe is from Asia and a serious world traveler herself. She was incredibly knowledgeable and immediately understood what I meant when I told her I was tired of hard-sided luggage and wanted something built for an active lifestyle. She introduced me to a beautiful 100-liter Patagonia rolling duffel with durable wheels, strong zippers, and soft-sided construction that can actually handle real travel. These types of bags come with lifetime guarantees on the wheels and zippers, and now I'm officially saving my pennies to buy one. The store itself was alive and buzzing with families, couples, hunters, skiers and outdoor enthusiasts everywhere. The only section that felt a little thin was the women's golf apparel where most of the XS sizes were gone, while the men's golf section was very well stocked. Parking was plentiful and easy. Scheels isn't just a sporting goods store. It's an experience.
