I purchased a bike online in mid-August and received an email that it was ready for pick up at the end of August. I called to confirm pick up, but was told it had not been assembled yet and they would call me when it was ready. I received no call, so I called back the following week and was told it now needed to be inspected, but (again) they would give me a call when ready. Needless to say, I received no call. After three weeks I decided I was going to drive over there and just pick up the bike or cancel the order after I took a look at it, but then figured...why waste my gas! The easiest thing about this whole mess was calling again and cancelling the order, which took less than one minute. OH WOW! After I wrote this review they actually had the audacity to have one of their employees, Christine, call me and leave a voice message that the bike was ready for pickup. Seriously!!!! I change my rating from two stars to one. Can you get any more unprofessional than this? read more

I got some great deals @ Dick's on jogger's hat & a snowboarding jacket but deals are really hard to come by and I really had to settle on the style of the clothing pieces I got. Most of their stuff is pretty expensive so you might want to go to the Sports Authority annual sale instead if you want some real bargains. Dick's however, offers a great variety of sporting equipment & is convenient for me. They have a great return policy & the store's organized & easy to navigate. Very frustrating. Went in, knew what shoes I wanted. Searched around finally found a worker. Showed him the shoe and told him size Next thing I know he is helping another customer then another and I am waiting Can't get his attention or find another worker. And I thought Big 5 was bad!?! I came to this Dick's Sporting Goods store on a Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 PM to buy my daughter some soccer cleats and shinguards. We had ZERO customer service as we tried to sort through the shoe selection, many of which had no display shoe. There wasn't ANY pricing displayed anywhere within the shoe selection. We won't be back. Oh, and then we got home and realized that the plastic detector tab that is used to prevent items from being stolen wasn't removed from the shoes so I now need to drive back to the store to have it removed. I went here to get soccer cleats and the man in the shoe department (I forget his name - grey hair and glasses, maybe in his 40's!) was extremely helpful and personable! I never write reviews randomly but I felt called to acknowledge this man, who is still working during these crazy times. As far as sporting goods stores go, Dick's is A-OK in my book. I've popped by this location a handful of times over the last few years to search for everything from yoga gear to hiking boots. This location is never very crowded, so it's easy to flag an associate down and ask for help. Everything's clearly laid out, so browsing is made easy. Nice and organized. It took me a while to warm up to this store and I still feel ambivalent about it. Sometimes the staff is totally helpful, engaging and real. Other times, you get the distinct feeling that "this would be a great job if I didn't have to deal with those pesky customers" kind of vibe from some of the employees. Then why did you engage me? Anyway, the stock is another thing I have mixed feelings about. If you absolutely must look your best every time you work out, then you need to stop by here and take in the fashions. They seem to excel at that. The latest collection of golf shirts, Nike workout shorts, a fair amount of the Nike Dry Fit collection, UA products, socks in your team's colors, stuff that will make you look cool. Where they are a bit slack is in the area of actual sporting goods. Don't get me wrong, they have the stuff, it's just seems a bit light in terms of the ratio of clothing to sporting goods. I guess retailers need to focus on what turns the fastest and brings in the dough. At first I was annoyed by the incessant solicitations for their rewards card, but eventually they wore me down and I just gave in and let them sign me up. Now, they find me by phone number and I don't even have to think twice about it. Although I'm not sure what I get out of the deal other than streamlined advertising and some "special" coupons every now and then. I'm not manacled to this chain, but I'll be back. read more

This Dick's location is easy to get to and there is plenty of parking. The store is well-maintained, organized and easy to get around. It is a pretty big store and offers a huge variety of sporting goods. I love coming here for any type of sporting goods and especially shoes. They have a good shoe section. And occasionally they have some great deals on shoes. The staff here is very nice and friendly and always willing to help. My only complaint about this place is that it offers less discounts than Sports Authority. I would come here more if their discounts were better. Overall, a very nice and clean store that I enjoy coming to. read more

First the good. They have a large selection of various sports gear. I've been there mainly for golf equipment. Their sale prices are pretty competitive and they do have a practice area for their golf clubs and drivers. Now the negatives, which like others have said mainly deal with unavailable associates. Each time I've been here I haven't seen any employees around asking me if I need help. Employees seem around but disengaged. I go there for the conveinance and prices, but if I need any real help, I'd probably need to go elsewhere. read more

It took a few days for the money to go back onto my card, but that's understandable considering I made the return during the weekend. Have only been in this location once but it served its purpose. Very big store! They had the shoes I wanted and I was out of there in less than 10 minutes. The sales associate in shoes was very efficient and helpful the minute he saw me. Had the shoes out of the back instantly and asked if I needed anything else on my way to check out. Staff at check out counter was very friendly and efficient as well. Overall was a good experience but next time I may have to grab a skateboard off the rack to get through the entire store LOL read more

Dick's Sporting Goods perpetuated online FRAUD against me. I purchased a $200 digital gift card for my niece for Christmas. Dick's Sporting Goods instantly charged me for the digital gift card, to be delivered electronically on Christmas day to the recipient's email address. It never arrived. I received no notice from the company. When I contacted the company on Dec 26th, they informed me that the transaction was "stuck in an error state" on their end. I inquired as to whether this error state meant the transaction would eventually go through, or if I could get a refund since they missed delivery of the gift card on Christmas Day. I was informed by Dick's Sporting Goods that they could NOT guarantee the delivery of the digital gift card for which I had already paid for, nor could they guarantee the error issue would be resolved, at all. Furthermore, and most disturbingly, Dick's repeatedly refused to issue any refunds, claiming again and again "the transaction was stuck in an error state on our end," and that they could not process the transaction, or issue any kind of refund, until the error state is resolved on their end -- which could be, according to their representative, "indefinitely." Thus, Dick's Sporting Goods is holding my $200 hostage. They insist they cannot guarantee the services I paid for will be delivered at all, regardless of already missing the delivery date, and they refuse to initiate any kind of refund process while the transaction is "stuck in an error state" on their end. This constitutes a form of business FRAUD. Dick's is clearly exploiting their online merchant services to hold money paid to them indefinitely, without providing any assurances as to the delivery of the service paid, or refunds. I have notified my bank, and filed a claim against Dick's Sporting Goods as well as filed an official complaint through Consumer Protection Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission. read more

If I could give this store no stars I would! The service at this place is beyond the worst I've ever seen! No one ever is around to help with anything. My husband asked where the workout equipment was and someone told him he didn't need that and got on the ground showing him how to do push-ups. He said it was creepy. Strange store, don't recommend! A joke of a store, wet in to get my tennis racquet re-strung, called prior due to,the fact last time I had to call a few times to get them on it. Advised turn around 5 days or so. Drive all the way down there to only find out , it's aver two weeks. The sales person made he following statement, " minimum two weeks and we don't have anyone here who does it." What, so the rely was , tell me, if it's two weeks and you have no one here to string, then why would we,leave our racquets. Omg, what a,pathetic show of customer service.
