Walked in today and had a 5 star experience. I picked out a couple of things to try on. Denise then brought in a very unusual white dress and said it would be amazing on. She was absolutely right. The dress was fabulous and I'm so excited to wear it! Joann, who I later found out is Denise's mother, got in on the fun and helped pick out some great stylish things as well. I am beyond happy and will certainly return. Wow what a fabulous boutique to have in Denver! On top of this great experience for me, she offered my husband an ice cream cone. Now that's unexpected, personalized, top-notch service! read more

Mariel - July 4 outfit - Women's Clothing Near Me - Denver, Colorado

This is the best place to shop in Cherry Creek. The choice is great and the girls are very helpful and honest. If something isn't for you they will suggest something else. If you need a gown they have lots of one of a kind. Make an appointment tho for gown help. Lots of great things to choose from. Love this store. read more

Excellent service, beautiful clothes and reasonable prices. From the minute I walked in and requested help, I felt welcome and appreciated. I will be back. And I don't even like to shop! read more

I went this morning with my son and mom for a specific occasion - from the moment we walked in I didn't love the service, it was overwhelming and overbearing - I like a little space when exploring. I tried on a number of items and settled on an outfit. I purchased a top and said I was going to return to purchase the other items because they didn't have apple pay and said I would pick up the top then. I returned less than 3 hours later deciding I didn't want the top and I would exchange for the other items. They told me evening wear was final sale. I didn't even leave the store with the item and was still purchasing $500 in other items. I just think thats really poor customer service. I had never been in the store before even after living in the neighborhood for 10+ years and being a regular at ALine and other neighboring stores and I honestly won't go back. A little goes a long way. read more

This boutique is a SCAM!!!! I spent $645 on a dress and pants...they charged me $100 in tax!!! I calculated tax at 8.9% (Denver retail tax rate) and they should have only charged me $57 in taxes and not $100!!! I'm sure they do this to everyone!!! read more

Lovely people who will help you look amazing. I needed a special occasion dress and walked in without an appointment. They worked hard to help me find what I needed. And in response to the customers who felt snubbed, let me add that I went shopping in old jeans, tshirt and sneakers- I didn't look like I could afford the whole store. It didn't make a difference; I was treated like I belonged. I enjoyed picking out a few extras beyond what I came in for and look forward to shopping at Mariel again soon. read more

I came in looking for a formal dress to wear to an event. My sister and I walked in after work/ school wearing our leisure clothes, considering I would be changing into several dresses. We walked in to two associates, one on the phone with a friend the entire time. We immediately got a sharp glare up-and-down while being asked if she could help us. We informed her what we were looking for, and this is what we were told; "we don't have any mediums." As well as some judgmental looks. Also she said, "well, our dresses usually start around $500 and go up from there, is that something you guys can do?" When we said yes, she took us to the back to lay out some ground rules: "absolutely no touching anything. We just don't want things to get, ya know, manhandled." We continued into the area where she kept us in a very small section, which I soon realized was more of a clearance section than anything. (One if the price tags was clearanced to $199). She refused to show us any other dresses in the section and, to be honest, was the second attempt in trying to get us to leave, just trying to tell us she didn't have the style I was looking for. (First being "we don't have mediums") My sister and I gave each-other "the look" and decided it was time to leave. On the way out the associate reminded us that The Nordstrom Rack had some cheap dresses. We never even told her our budget. Overall, I can't even tell you the dresses were still good because I couldn't even touch them with my man hands. I suggest that you arrive in a Lamborghini as well as dressed in all flashy designer clothing for some good service. Regardless, if you want to get stereotyped, judged, and deal with rude wrinkley women; this is the store for you! read more

This message is an eye opener for ladies who try to shop in this store! I was looking for an evening dress for my sibling wedding. I didn't have a good experience during my 1st visit to the store. Staff not friendly at first. when they feel that you are serious about shopping there and consider paying for expensive clothes then they are willing to help you and cheer up! Please be sure to ask about their No Refund and very restricted exchange policy before you hand them your credit card and purchase. I found these restrictions after I purchased a $1300.00 dress from them and saw these restrictions after I got home and saw the receipt. after a day of purchased, They refused to take back or exchange the dress despite of attached tag, and their failure to inform me during my shopping about their No refund/No exchange policy on their dresses. The following day , I had a phone conversation with the owner of the store who had an unpolite attitude with poor customer service skills. I travel a lot and have shopped in Europe, Greece and Dubai and never seen such a horrible service. I will be sure not to spend any of our money in this store. read more

My visit overall was tainted by the sales associate I worked with. Mariel had some unique pieces but I have no interest in going back. I called ahead to make an appointment. When I got there, first thing the sales associate said to me was "You do know our dresses cost $500 right? Some more, some less, but mostly more." If this was going to be a concern, why not tell me when I was making my appointment? As we started to look at dresses. she asked for my size and I said I am typically a medium. She seemed surprised but I didn't think anything of it. After we picked out a few dresses, she helped me put on the first one. She went to zip the dress, couldn't and said, "This small won't fit. I guess you really are a medium." That was not a great feeling to start our fitting. I tried on a few dresses then she kept going back to grab more that were "in my right size" because she didn't trust me when I initially told her my size. The rest of my experience is a blur because I just wanted to leave. read more

I do not recommend shopping at this store due to their lack of transparency about their extremely restrictive return policy. Almost all items in the store are final sale- not returns or exchanges! read more

I was prom dress shopping today. I was in a fantastic mood, I was in sweats & a hoodie due to the weather being quite chilly. When my friend and I walked in, nobody helped us and when they finally did we got horrendous looks. The lady then proceeded to say we do have prom dresses but it's very slim selection with an attitude. My friend and I were down to look but then She looks us up and down and says we start at $500v she pauses and looks me up and down again and says is that OK. We felt very judged do not go to this place. Not only because of the service but because the dresses aren't very pretty either. Then we walked out and some guy asked us if we tried on this hat and said if we did it would break our neck. So even if guys don't like the store then don't go read more

Denise is one of a kind! She truly makes you feel special and listens to you on what you like and don't like. Her store is bright and cheerful and in the perfect part of Cherry Creek North Shopping. Denise dressed me for a very special occasion...I cannot thank her enough for her style choices. It truly was so comforting knowing that she just didn't want to put me in just anything. Also--LOVE LOVE her mom! She is a GEM. Do yourself a favor and visit Denise and her store. You will not go wrong. read more

Honestly such a great store. The two women who work here are so kind and great sales women. I came in for prom and they had the most unique dresses. Definitely recommend read more

This is one is one of those reviews I wish I could give a "thumbs down" or "zero" stars to. Talk about a snooty-ass, staunchy-bitch, we're-too-good-for-you, white-glove wearing, assholes. From the first phone-call to the moment of the appointment, we never felt good enough to be a customer of theirs. The appointment was lame and uneventful. NO PICTURES. NO CELEBRATORY CHAMPAGNE. I'm pretty sure if they could have said "no smiling" or "no looking" they would have cut off our ears and mouths to enforce that policy. If you want to have fun wedding gown shopping - skip Mariel's. Please note I am only talking about the wedding shop, their hats and other items are still fabulous...(I'm avoiding the use of a smiley icon here because I'm still pissed about the experience). read more

35 years in business and Mariel is still doing amazing work. Denise has dressed me for my son's wedding, my niece's wedding, numerous corporate events and most importantly times when I just want to get myself something new. Whether going to a red carpet, wedding, sports outing or just need something new, Mariel always has that special something! Pieces are not only one of a kind and timeless, they are affordable! I have been shopping there for 15 years and can still wear EVERY single piece I've bought, which is because Denice has impeccable taste! FIVE STAR EVERYTIME I SHOP! read more

Wow!. They did a fantastic job looking at my body shape and needs. You don't get attention and assistance like this ANYWHERE else. Their merchandise is to dye for and while it is not inexpensive, I think they are competitive with other stores and their selection is really beautiful and becoming. I recently got Denise to help me dress for an episode on TV I filmed and all for a black tie event. I was so happy with the results and her experience. I have always been treated like a princess when I am there and have not experienced anything other with any other clients. I will keep going back for more! read more

I had a great experience with them! They were so nice and friendly. They tried to help me with my dress. When I needed a help to find a tailor, they recommended someone for me! I really appreciate their helps and supports. What I like also, they care so much of their dresses, so all dresses are clean and have high qualities because they don't let people to touch them. I really recommend this place for you! read more

I should have been warned by the previous reviews, but because they offered a wedding dress custom made I thought it was worth dealing with them. I was wrong. The first dress was made wrong and the second dress still had hundreds of dollars of alterations. Please learn from my experience! They may say it's custom made to your measurements, but be prepared to spend a lot more! read more

After 19 years of being a valued and valuable patron of Mariel, I resign and I do not recommend you shop in this boutique. I far recommend a Nordstrom or a store that values your patronage and your dollars -- certainly your loyalty. Over the last two decades, the women in my family have spend thousands -- probably tens of thousands - of dollars at Mariel. Over the years, we have purchased shoes, jewelry, purses, stoles/scarves and everything in between! But our support and patronage came to a crashing end a few weeks ago after my mother and I purchased expensive dresses clearly too big for us but under the guise that "a tailor or seamstress can take this in to make it fit." My mother and I live 100 miles away. A visit to Mariel is a major destination and investment of our time and money. To buy something at full price and then seek out alterations is a further leap. And, after multiple visits to tailors and seamstresses, including Mariel's recommended tailor across the street, we were repeatedly told the dresses we purchased were not able to be altered to fit because of the delicate materials and the design that was clearly not for a petite small figure. Clearly we were sold the wrong product. We were shammed. My mother, age 76, called and asked with innocence if we could bring the dresses back for an exchange for something appropriate. Mariel said "No." Not just "no," but with an emphasis and disavow that made my mother feel guilty and sheepish for even asking. She said she felt as if Mariel could care less if their product fit, and please - let the door hit her on the way out. They made the sale and the fallout was on us. That's disgusting and terrible customer care. My receipt shows a purchase of $1663.19 for two dresses, a purse, shawl, and jewelry. The dress I wanted to exchange was $500 of the total bill. My mother spent about the same that day on multiple items. Neither of us wanted money back, we wanted a fair exchange for something that actually fit. You can bet that I will never walk in your store again. I will never recommend you to my friends or family. It's too bad. I loved your style and your products. But with this treatment, not only did you lose me as a client -- but you lost my mother, my sister, my circle of friends and my referral. Erin Gibbs read more

We were refused service from the associates and told to come back "some other day" when they were less busy... we were the only people in the store! When we asked why they couldn't help us look for what we were searching for, we were completely ignored. Absolutely disgraceful humans at this store read more

I strongly caution against giving this place your business unless you are VIP/celebrity status. I went in looking to spend a good amount of money on a dress for a friend's wedding. On this day, I was wearing my "athleisure" clothing. Mind you, it was nice stuff (from Lulu and Nordstrom) but this didn't make any difference. I was not greeted, acknowledged or even looked at when I entered the store. I walked around for about 10-15 minutes before I left with no words ever being spoken to me. The formal wear section is roped off, and you need an appointment to even LOOK at the dresses. The rest of the store is filled with snooty old woman country club-looking clothing; think Trey's mom from Sex and the City-both the clothes and the employees. This coupled with the snobby attitude of the ladies who work there should heavily hint you'd be better off looking for nice clothing elsewhere. read more

Yeah. I walked in. A lady asked if she could help me and then saw an old friend walk in and walked away before I was even helped. No one else said a word. I'm pretty disappointed that people would treat potential clients like that. I will get my hats elsewhere. I have no tolerance for rude people. read more

I was going on a 2 week trip to Europe and stopped in to look around. The owner, Denise, was there and kept bringing me things to try on, including shoes. Everything she brought in was so flattering, stylish (but not overly so), that I ended up buying way too much. I told her I couldn't afford the trip now, but I'll look good in Denver! P.S. I did go on the trip! read more

I have always found Denise to be ultra friendly, helpful and professional. Perhaps the people who thought they were snooty should stop using so many vulgar cuss words and trailer trash descriptions. Their clothing is fabulous and unique. Much better prices than I expected. read more

I wish I had read these reviews before going in. A friend and I went in to Mariel's to buy Derby hats. Mind you my friend has a lot of money but doesn't throw it around. Denise boasted of how she dresses women for the actual Derby. Denise was helpful enough but when I balked at a $500 dress, her attitude quickly changed. My friend bought a dress and a hat which in the real world cost quite a bit of money. I bought a Derby hat as well. Well when it came time to leave, she handed us our hats to leave no shopping bag, no hat box. When she realized it was raining outside she put our $250 hats in trash bags. I kid you not. TRASH BAGS. I guarantee you she does not give the ladies who attend the Kentucky Derby their hats in trash bags. So she clearly makes a distinction of who deserves what treatment. Oh and the prices - that $500 dress - I found the exact same dress at Nordstrom for $350. Will tell everyone I know not to go there. read more
