I stopped into Sierra in Fort Collins and it's a really interesting alternative to stores like REI…read moreor Dick's Sporting Goods. The big difference is that Sierra works on an off-price model, similar to TJ Maxx, which means they buy overstock and past-season gear from major outdoor brands and sell it at significant discounts. Because of that, you can sometimes find the same brands you'd see at REI such as The North Face, Smartwool, Fjällräven, Carhartt, and other outdoor favorites, but at much lower prices. The inventory changes constantly, so the store has more of a "treasure hunt" feeling rather than the predictable layout you get at traditional sporting goods stores. Fort Collins is the perfect place for a store like this since the whole town revolves around hiking, running, skiing, and outdoor life, and Sierra offers a great way to find quality gear without paying full retail.

Said I'd get a discount if I put down some information, and I had to stop him once he got to my SSN. Second time: Some lady yelled at me cause I went into an (open) area that was near a construction zone. Was super unfriendly and when I said I was looking for a bathroom she answered with tons of attitude saying there's no bathrooms open. I cannot recommend shopping here. It's poor service and you'd be better off just finding their stuff for cheaper on Amazon.

Once Madison got me prepared for me 14er I told her I wanted to go backpacking too so she connected me with Danny. And he was answering all my questions and got me a nice backpack. Unfortunately they didn't have any tents that I wanted so I wasn't able to grab tents. But I got a super sweet back pack and all my gear for a 14er. Thank you Madison and Danny(:

I have lived in the state a long time, nearly my whole life and have never been to REI until today…read more Last year i did a couple of online orders with them because my daughter took up climbing and she needed some gear. I opted to become a member for $20 which is lifetime and you get to have a percentage kickback beginning of march each year if you spend money. REI online is pretty nice. You can find anything you could possibly want. If you order over $50 they can direct ship to you at no cost. I only shopped on there a few times last fall. Today was my first visit into the store. They had hand sanitizer outside if you feel like you need it. Curbside pick up spaces. A person at the front door to help point you in the direction you need to go if you are like me and need help. The climbing expert was friendly and answered all the questions i had. I had ordered some climbing shoes online for myself and unfortunately they did not fit. I was taking them into REI to exchange them for something else that did fit. I was grateful that the local store was able to refund verses my having to ship back and get a refund that way. They had quite a variety of climbing shoes in stock. Though not the size of the shoe i wanted. They ended up ordering the new shoe in for me and it is going to be shipped to my house. They had a lot of other climbing supplies as well. (and I am sure many other things) Though climbing was all i looked at. The cashier was friendly and helpful. The store was clean. While i can't afford to shop here on a regular basis. I wish i could lol. Lots of great stuff, for a bit of a spendy price but they will have what you want. Hence the 4. If their prices were just a little bit lower they would get a 5.

I had heard about Scheels for years but never stepped inside one. A friend of mine from Minnesota…read moreused to drive past the huge Scheels billboards whenever I visited, and for some reason I assumed it was more of a farm supply type place where people bought machinery and work clothes. Because of that completely wrong assumption, I never bothered to go in. Fast forward a few years and after reading the reviews here in Colorado I finally decided I had to see it for myself. Yesterday, March 6th, the weather was miserable. Cold, windy, light snow and rain. Not the kind of day you want to be outside, let alone skiing. So I figured it was the perfect day to finally give Scheels a try. I ended up spending five hours in the store and taking more than 250 photos, and this place absolutely blew my mind. There were sports and equipment sections I didn't even know existed. The store truly has everything you could possibly need and then some. What impressed me most was the staff. They were knowledgeable and helpful but didn't hover every five seconds like some stores do, which allowed me to really explore and absorb everything. The shoe selection was outstanding with every kind of running shoe, ski boot, work boot and outdoor footwear you could imagine, and the shoe staff were clearly well trained helping customers. I also spent about 45 minutes in the luggage section, which was surprisingly impressive. It's clearly a curated department run by someone who truly understands travel. I spoke with a luggage specialist who I believe is from Asia and a serious world traveler herself. She was incredibly knowledgeable and immediately understood what I meant when I told her I was tired of hard-sided luggage and wanted something built for an active lifestyle. She introduced me to a beautiful 100-liter Patagonia rolling duffel with durable wheels, strong zippers, and soft-sided construction that can actually handle real travel. These types of bags come with lifetime guarantees on the wheels and zippers, and now I'm officially saving my pennies to buy one. The store itself was alive and buzzing with families, couples, hunters, skiers and outdoor enthusiasts everywhere. The only section that felt a little thin was the women's golf apparel where most of the XS sizes were gone, while the men's golf section was very well stocked. Parking was plentiful and easy. Scheels isn't just a sporting goods store. It's an experience.

I was blown away by the customer service, kindness, and kindness professionalism of these owner-operators. I just wish it were a little closer to my house.

Pros: The group booking process was easy and the staff was super friendly and accommodating for our big group. Upon arrival the presentation was organized and thorough, especially the video that covers all of the safety instructions. Shop is big, with two restrooms and a comfortable outdoor seating area which is nice, as we waited almost an hour before getting on the bus. The guides were fun and energetic, especially Grace who engaged our group of teen girls and got them hyped up on the bus ride for the trip, banging their paddles on the bus roof! Everyone had positive feedback and was happy with their first rafting experience through RMA. Cons: We did a level 3 trip and it seemed a bit calm. Not too many "rapids", water level was low, and the two legs of the trip we made seemed short, under an hour each. Towards the end of the trip I asked if we could have some time for the girls to swim in the river the head guide abruptly said no and that we were out of time (likely because a raft had overturned and we spent 15 mins+ docked and waiting for them to regroup). Would have been nice to have maybe used that time to swim instead of just sitting in our rafts. Oh well. Overall, our group was happy with our trip and all said they're ready for a level 4. I would def recommend RMA for your group adventure, assuming most trips are the same duration. I'm especially thankful to Grace for making it so fun and memorable for our softball girls. Thanks guys!

One had wheels that were slightly out of round. We called Lectric Bikes, they told me to take it to any of several shops. We took it to EMOG&B. Lectric Bike told me they would reimburse us. Extra Mile told me it would be ready the next week, Friday, I think. It was ready early. They did more than we expected. We purchased a bike rack on Amazon (more later). We are RVers and went on a road trip. Our bike rack broke, it was a bad design. Got authorization for refund from Amazon, since a replacement (like for like) or refund only options. So I called Extra Mile. Ultimately Caleb told me about Hollywood Racks and quoted me the same price that they sell for online. I ordered the Hollywood RV Rider from Extra Mile and Caleb estimated a delivery for the next Wednesday. He called on Tuesday and when I got to the store, they had assembled the rack, put it on our truck and showed me how to use it. That to me and my wife is home run! If you are shopping due , to street construction you need to be creative to get there, but if you want great service, give them a try.
