After the most hellish week of my entire life...packing up our house in Austin...hiring movers in Austin...renting a 26' truck and driving it over two days to San Diego...we just wanted it to be over with. We were exhausted and completely fried. We arrived in SD at 2:30 a.m. 7/6/15 on Monday morning. Later that morning, I found Chula Vista Movers on yelp, and called to see if we could possibly get someone out on the same day. I spoke with mike. He didn't know for sure, but thought they could. I asked him to send STRONG guys who were professionals. He took my number and promptly called back after speaking with one of the other guys. He said they would be there within about 1 hour. Which was great...except for I had misplaced the truck keys. GREAT. That's all we needed. Luckily, I was able to find them, and the guys showed up literally 45 minutes later. I was expecting big burly moving guys, but George and David were just a couple of regular-size guys. To be completely honest, I was a little worried because they weren't big burly guys, and we had a lot of stuff and large items to move, but we got started. I was just so happy to have help. We signed some paperwork and disclosures, clearly spelling out what they were able to do. It was simple and quick, then they got to work right away. We opened the truck...packed floor to ceiling with stuff falling out...and George looked at it and said something like "it's not all that bad." The one thing I was most thankful for both George and David was their upbeat optimism. I KNOW that truck was overwhelming, and if I was a mover I would have walked away. There were times I wanted to curl up in a corner and give up, and they were so reassuring that we would be done with this quickly, and everything would be fine. I don't think I'll ever ask for big burly moving guys ever again! George and David were super strong, and particularly nimble. I watched as they picked up STACKS of boxes (I could only lift one, maybe two if they are light), and SPRINTED through our garage, down some stairs, across a courtyard, and up and down stairs. I was really shocked by this. I had worried about how a dolly might get the carpeted stairs dirty, but they didn't have to use one. Furniture that my other movers used dollies on, these guys just picked up and carried. Then the worst part. I'm a glass artist, and have a medium-sized kiln that I had hoped I could get into the basement. I warned them ahead of time that it was buried inside the 26' truck, and when we got to it, they paused. After a few minutes of talking about how delicate certain parts of the kiln are, George secured the lid, we turned it on its side, and the guys picked it up and headed for the basement. I followed them...I asked George if I was making him nervous, and he honestly replied "yes." The truth was after everything they moved so far, I was 100% confident they could do it. The kiln to me represents more than just a hobby...it's my little business and my dream . When they got it down safely, I was so happy I started crying...I hugged them, although they probably thought I was completely nuts. But I was so thankful for these guys. I had estimated that it would take them 4-5 hours...in Austin it had taken our movers 4 hours and we had added more stuff to the truck. They came in right at 3.5 hours. I added a nice tip for both of them (which was WELL deserved!), because I was so pleased with their work. I would recommend Chula Vista Movers to anyone who is looking for a quality moving company. They didn't just move my furniture...they gave me peace of mind. And I needed that more than anything.

Let me say that the two movers did a great job…read more My problem is with the office. During my move on 9-9-18, my really nice bicycle went missing. I saw them take it to the truck. When everything was off loaded at my new house the bike was missing. I called them back and they said they would check the truck in the morning since I didn't notice until I was unpacking that night. I called the office to report the bike missing. I sent them emails and all the stuff they wanted and they have never returned my calls. They have ghosted me at this point.

When I came across this company 365 Day Labor Movers, they were quick on a quote response, great availability during the holidays and reasonable pricing. I took their quote and booked. They were available 8am the day after Christmas so we were super excited they worked with the schedule we needed and had availability. I did request a 17 foot truck minimum as I had previously moved with the same amount of items and I knew that's what we needed. They did show up with a smaller truck because the larger was taken for another job that morning, but they were super cool and we made it work with a few adjustments and were offered two trips if we couldn't make it in one. The two guys were quick, accommodating, great pricing, professional, clean and time efficient with their work. I would highly recommend them for any moving service. I'll definitely be using them again for my upcoming move.

I even received a reminder text the morning of the move confirming the same time. By 9:30 AM on moving day, no movers had arrived and I hadn't received any communication about delays. I called the office, and the representative seemed unsure of what was going on but said she would call me back. About five minutes later, I received a call from the driver stating they had never received my appointment and were already on their way to Los Angeles -- nowhere near where I live. He then told me they could get to my place at 4:00 PM. My move was scheduled for 9:00 AM, and I had taken the day off for this, so this was completely unacceptable. The lack of professionalism was unbelievable. Thankfully, I was able to find another company last minute for the same price, and I'm so glad I did. Afterward, I looked up more reviews for 365 Days Labor and realized that many others had similar negative experiences. I would definitely not recommend this company. In fact, I would strongly advise you to steer clear.

They paid around the same amount I paid even though I had packed everything myself and the movers had less work to do. Also 2 of the movers wanted to know if I rented or owned the home and how much we paid monthly for the place. I found this very unprofessional and don't understand why they needed to know these things. It seems since they are paid hourly they want to take advantage of the situation.

Honestly, it got worse from there. The two movers were very slow and you pay by the hour. I started loading and unloading stuff myself. I even unwrapped and moved furniture myself (ending up cracking my Apple Watch screen in the process). They movers left behind a ton of stuff at my old place. It has taken me at least 15 trips in my Honda Civic to get it all. They took my desk but left behind my desk chair, so I had to beast that myself. They left behind my big, heavy bike rack and I had to move it in my car, cracking the center console in the process (the car is brand new). I've called multiple times to try and get some money back but I paid in cash. They got my money so I'm SOL. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM! Very shady practices, too. They are definitely not insured. I feel so bad for the guy who ended up in the ER. He will definitely be covering that himself (the other movers confirmed this). They didn't have me sign any paperwork beforehand. They didn't check the time or anything. Just a Docusign at the end. They should call themselves D- Movers. It's way more accurate. Then they asked to use the senior residence's bellhop cart instead. Inappropriate. 3. Lastly after they left I realized the cell phone stand I have been using this past week while packing my mother's apartment was missing. I had used it just that morning before they arrived and no one else has been in the apartment. I now wonder if they took anything else. Possibly jewelry but I don't have my mom's items memorized so hard to tell. What an awful experience for the $350 2-hr minimum plus 3% surcharge for not paying cash, for essentially one hour of work. I didn't give them hard time about being late or not having any equipment even though it was very annoying and an inconvenience to me, but to discover they stole something so petty from an elderly woman and that I actually gave them a tip is adding insult to injury.
