I was disappointed with my experience there. After reading the reviews, i thought this would be my new nail spot. The salon itself is nice. Pretty clean, and there are a lot of stations and full staff. However, the nail polish selection was small compared to other places I've been. I think what turned me off was the person doing my pedicure. She kept sharing her opinions on things I didn't ask about. I'm willing to give the place another try, but with another person. I got a facial wax (eyebrow, lip and chin) the technician(Leena)was on a personal phone call the entire time including the moment I stepped into the room to the moment I had to pay and was leaving she was still on the same call. This was very unprofessional and quite frankly rude I usually come to this salon but will not come back in the future as it left a bad impression. The phone call also must have distracted her because when I got home I noticed a bunch of hairs that were missed so I paid full price for half decent service. This was my first time at Serenity after hearing for years about friends going here.. I did the online appointment and signing in was very easy, definitely recommend doing that to make the process easier upon entry. I signed up online for dip nails and had a photo reference of a design I wanted. My technician seemed a bit overwhelmed and annoyed that I wanted tips as well as a design (even though I made the appt ahead of time) but she did an amazing job fulfilling what I wanted. I'm just a bit disappointed with how thick the nails came out because they look more like canoe paddles than natural nails so hopefully dip nails can be done thinner elsewhere.. I requested a deluxe manicure that was supposed to include a hand massage and paraffin wax. I got neither. Instead, I paid $30 for a "gel manicure" that peeled off within hours. The nail tech Kandace is amazing! She listens to her clients and provides answers to your questions and solutions to your needs. In contrast, I had an unfortunate experience with Jenny after being misinformed that Jade was the only line of polish that carried both gel and regular polish for my pedicure. She repeatedly assured me that the Jade line of colors were my only option. I unhappily chose a color I didn't want at all. Upon starting my gel manicure with Kandace she assured me this was not the case and that if I was unhappy I could change my pedi color in order to choose a color I liked and have them match which is important to me. Jenny denied changing my pedi polish for free and wanted to charge me. Might I add they were not busy and she was not booked at the time. Just sitting on her phone. Although it was Jenny's misguidance, which she doubled down on, that lead me to my unwanted initial polish choice. Kandace generously offered to change my pedi polish in her place. After an hour of a gel manicure we were about to change my pedi polish to find the toe polish was not hard and could simply be pushed off. I took a closer look at my toes at that time and was also unhappy with the application seeing missing spots in the edges of my smaller toes. Truly exceptional customer service from Kandace and a very disappointing treatment of a long term client by Jenny. I was referred by my coworker and she recommended Tracy because her mom uses her. First of all, scheduling was easy. They confirmed right away. Then they also reminded me yesterday about my upcoming appointment. When I arrived I checked in on the kiosk and it was easy. I didn't wait long at all. The place is very clean and there were quite a few technicians. I met Tracy and automatically liked her. She had a very sweet and very caring and asking me if she hurts me to let her know. She was gentle and I asked for a French nails on my feet and hands. I got the gel nail polish on my hands. Tracy did an amazing job. I haven't gotten a mani and a pedi in many years due to a bad experience where I used to go in Pennsylvania. I actually cannot stand my feet and I decided it's time to try again. I really like the aesthetic of the salon and the atmosphere they present on their floor. I brought my sister and girlfriend to Serenity. They both loved their nail designs and I loved being there to speak to the employees and manager. Although they are not fluent in English, they know enough to have fun with and communicate what kind of nail services are needed. You can do an online appointment and they are very efficient. My sister said it was surprising that her nails came out so well for how busy and little time they had. The owner was very nice and accepting. Since she knew my sister and girlfriend weren't Vietnamese, so she was making sure to speak to them consistently and keep them comfortable with a familiar language. She used to go to a local Korean salon, but she says that she will be transitioning to Serenity from now on! P.S. I'm not sure what the going prices for nails are, since I'm a guy. My sister said that the prices are generally similar to other stations, but that they have good combo deals. read more

Every single aspect of my experience was horrible. Tina did my nails and I would specifically never go back because of her. The entire process was rushed, nothing was clean or sanitized, she talked the entire time to the tech next to her and didn't look me in the eyes once, and then entire manicure was physically painful. A review I never imagined i would post and I am sad to do so . A spotless clean shop , before and after covid , is no longer clean, nor organized. . After yrs of finding a " clean " profession salon, it is no longer that . So disappointed and I would like my $90 back, actually I want it back . My pink powder French manicure ,each white is lopsided. My eyebrows which have always been great are horrible. My pedicure, I stated I didn't like how the colour looked after first few toes , the tech was offended, ( she didn't pick the colour I did , so why be put off) then she suddenly couldn't speak English, and I don't speak Spanish! It's a nail polish, let's just change it , it was 3 toes . I usually bring my own colour, I didn't this time. I was rushing from work after my last yoga student. My nail salon time is truly my really only " me" ahh time . The powder French manicure. I know the tech is unfamiliar with the process . So I didn't mind the first 3 times , allowing her learn and my charge was cut due to that . I didn't do it for a discount. I did it so she had the opportunity to learn . Even when the first set were thick and chunky. Practice, It didn't help. All the time doing my last manicure, she was texting with her phone on her lap. As on her phone , not understanding why she kept spilling the white powder??? Get off your phone , it won't spill . I did not question when the shops prices went up. Covid put a dent in everyone's business. However, $90 for a horrid experience and crappy Service, it's not right. I work for my money to pay the tech and tip her quite well and always ask what she and her daughter would like from door dash when I get Dunkin delivered to the shop. It's not uncommon, many have door dash for coffee. I called the shop and spoke to the owners daughter inlaw. She is a lovely young lady. However no phone call from Andy , why? Now I must wait and go at the end of the day to chat with him ? Is that how I solve this ? I want and deserve a refund. A next service free ? Not sure? The cleanliness of the shop is a big issue. What happened? I know there have been ownership/management changes, but the service level has been in rapid decline. I am a "regular" who always makes an appointment - same day of the week, same time, every two weeks. Once in a while there is a change, but not very often. Going there about 5 years after trying many other salons in the area. The last few appointments, I spent a lot more time there than usual. There seems to be a lot of wait time now between services. About 45+ minutes, which is not acceptable at all. This past appointment I "suddenly" decided to forgo my usual French for single color, just so I could get out of there at a reasonable time to make it to a friend's going away dinner. Whatever you do, do not show up before they close. You will be rushed and made to pay with wet nails. I went at 630pm and even asked if there was enough time for a manicure. I was assured, yes. Well the manicure was super quick and polish literally swiped on as you can see he missed some of my nail. Now, I have to go today somewhere else to get another manicure because the polish bubbled, my cuticles were hardly touched, and the polish isn't on my nails correctly. I get I went in 30 minutes before closing but if they were going to rush, they should have said no to me and I would have understanded there wasn't enough time. What a bummer. read more

i've gone to serenity for years. always had a good experience. all the techs have always been kind. i've never had a reason to complain honestly. after having not gotten my nails done there for about 6 years, i went for my appt on friday and i decide to ask my tech Tina to do a short almond shape with french tips. i've never done this shape before as i always do a square shape with acrylic tips and she always does an AMAZING job. i was very disappointed this time. the nail shape, even after dremeling and filing was not symmetrical. i had to ask her to refile my thumb on my left hand. and yet still the shape looks like it curves to the left. then we moved on to the paint and the french tip. every single tip on each finger is not symmetrical with the exception of maybe one or two nails. is it super noticeable to others? no but it's noticeable to me and i was very disappointed since i paid $60. it discouraged me because i feel like almond is a very simple and common shape and it wasn't executed well at all and neither were the french tips. overall not happy. read more

I had an appointment yesterday for a mani-pedi. While I waited, one of the technicians, Nancy came out and asked if anyone needed an eyebrow waxing. Since my eyebrows were starting to get fuller, I agreed to go back. This woman continued to giggle at how hairy my face is. She would not stop. She pointed out that I have a hairy upper lip. She would not stop laughing and giggling about how hairy my eyebrows were. Kept saying, "you're so hairy, hee hee hee!" And to be honest, they were not that bad. I told her to stop laughing at me because no woman wants to be laughed at when it comes to embarrassing body hair. I also told her when she gets teenagers as clients she better not treat them like this, as it's the beginning of this body hair journey for them. She said she was sorry, but continued to giggle. I told her this wasn't cute or funny. When it was time for my mani-pedi, I told the manager not to put me with Nancy. I also mentioned in the past that Nancy has made comments about my appearance in the past, when I've looked tired. Tonight was my first time going here for a gel manicure. I arrived 10 minutes early because I wanted to take my time and look at the gel color options. I was put in a chair and rushed to make a decision while Andy filed my nails. He didn't soak my cuticles and barely did anything. He slapped on the gel without barely checking and then never filed my nails or checked them after the top coat was on. I was in and out of there in 20 minutes tops. If you want a quick, $25/30, low quality gel manicure then this is the place for you. I do not plan to return. Very disappointed. I came right home to file them myself. When I was back home in NJ (from St. Louis) last weekend, my sister-in-law treated my twin sister and I to a mani/pedi at Serenity Nail Spa in Clinton. The first thing I noticed was the price...it was SO reasonable...and had a great interior. Everything made you feel relaxed. We started with the pedicures. They sit you down in massaging chairs, get you comfortable, and then hand you a magazine. The nail technician did a great job. My feet were smooth and the polish job was first rate. We then moved over to the manicure area, where my nails were trimmed, filed, and buffed before being lotioned and the polished. I've never had someone spend so much time polishing to make sure that they did the job "just right". After we were finished, and I was completely relaxed, I headed over to the hand and foot dryers (you can use both at once) so as not to mess up my polish. Overall, it was a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone looking to do some pampering in the Clinton area. read more

Went for a pedicure with my sister and niece and it was fine. Whatever you do- don't get waxed there!!! I got a simple eye brow wax, and the next day I woke up with an insane breakout of pimples from the wax. They did not wipe my skin clean before the wax either to remove any oils or makeup. Sorry, this may be a long rant, but you all need to know! So I recently had the WORST experience ever at Serenity Nail Spa. I've been to MANY nails salons & have never been treated in such a way! My daughter had gone here a couple of times so I decided to try them. The first time was ok. The second time was eh, & it was mainly because of a nail tech named "VINH"....well lucky me, my 3rd & FINAL time, I got "VINH" again & boy was he nasty! See, this salon does not have their prices displayed anywhere in the store, so you learn what you pay at the register by the nail tech. Well I had checked their prices online prior to my appt. so I knew what I should be charged for my particular manicure. It seems "VINH" was attempting to charge me whatever he wanted, so when I began to question what exactly all the extra money was for, he suddenly became angry telling me doing my nails would take him a long time and fine if I don't want to pay $40, would I pay $30? I proceeded to ask him nicely was he charging me for the work or for his time because I had checked the prices and I knew it was supposed to be $25. He became madder & now said that HE will pay for my manicure since I don't wanna pay (which I never said), & that he has money & tapped his pocket! Again I'm incredibly confused & extremely offended. I did not want to make a scene because there was a good amount of people there but asked why was he telling me that & of course I will pay for my services! He angrily told me that it would take him 2 hours to complete my manicure & I asked him why & he said it was a lot to do ( meanwhile he finished in half an hour). He was so mean to me!! At some point I moved a little and he spoke to me as if I were a toddler saying "Stay still if you want your nails to look nice". I felt very mistreated there. After he finished painting my nails he did not escort me to the regular nail drying area and put a tiny fan and told me when you dry LEAVE! & left his station! I felt violated at the end. He did a horrible job by the way and left me with cuts! I went to the lady in charge named "Nina" & proceeded to tell her how horribly I was treated for no reason. She seemed quite surprised & apologized a few times & told me he might be "bi-polar" & she said he will never do my nails again & when I told her I also hated the job he did, she offered for her husband to re-do them but I declined & said I wanted to get the hell out of there & she STILL charged me $30! I get stiletto nails which can be challenging with some nail people because either they make them too rounded or force me to leave them too long. PT does exactly what I want and I won't go to anyone else. To all the people saying they are a 'nail factory' and get as many clients done as possible.. You need to make an appointment. This salon is usually very busy! PT sometimes takes up to an hour PERFECTING my nails. I've never felt rushed here. When you become a regular with one manicurist AND make an appointment, they will allot the appropriate amount of time for you. As with anywhere, appointments are prioritized. For an acrylic fill and gel polish, the amount I pay is so minimal for the perfection I receive. I HIGHLY recommend PT if you like to stay on trend. read more

I went here for a "girl's day" with a couple of my old college roommates. I've never been here previously, but it was equidistant from all of us, so we decided to meet there. The salon was able to sit all of us together for pedicures and manicures so we could catch up and it was quiet and did not have that horrible nail salon smell. I wanted something natural on my nails for my wedding day, but ended up with pepto-pink, which is definitely not what I was going for. The tech who did my mother's nails did a nice job, but I was not satisfied with mine. Aside from the color being terrible (and I'll add that this is what the tech assured me would look "natural", I did not choose the color), there was bubbling under the polish upon drying. But this time, as soon as i walked in the door & was looking at regular polish, the girl was very persistent trying to upcharge me to do gel instead of a regular mani. I persistently declined, I only wanted a regular mani. She was not pleased with my choice, telling me that my regular mani won't last, I continued to tell her I only needed it for one day for a bridal shower the next day.
