This was my first time at Serenity after hearing for years about friends going here.. I did the online appointment and signing in was very easy, definitely recommend doing that to make the process easier upon entry. I signed up online for dip nails and had a photo reference of a design I wanted. My technician seemed a bit overwhelmed and annoyed that I wanted tips as well as a design (even though I made the appt ahead of time) but she did an amazing job fulfilling what I wanted. I'm just a bit disappointed with how thick the nails came out because they look more like canoe paddles than natural nails so hopefully dip nails can be done thinner elsewhere.. Otherwise it's very clean and well lit & decorated inside!

Thank you Andy! Lion King inspired nails for my nephew's birthday!!

I really like the aesthetic of the salon and the atmosphere they present on their floor. I brought my sister and girlfriend to Serenity. They both loved their nail designs and I loved being there to speak to the employees and manager. Although they are not fluent in English, they know enough to have fun with and communicate what kind of nail services are needed. You can do an online appointment and they are very efficient. My sister said it was surprising that her nails came out so well for how busy and little time they had. The owner was very nice and accepting. Since she knew my sister and girlfriend weren't Vietnamese, so she was making sure to speak to them consistently and keep them comfortable with a familiar language. She used to go to a local Korean salon, but she says that she will be transitioning to Serenity from now on! P.S. I'm not sure what the going prices for nails are, since I'm a guy. My sister said that the prices are generally similar to other stations, but that they have good combo deals.

Terrible. Unprofessional and rude. The woman who first did my nails was rough and sloppy. She got polish all over my fingers. Then I told the manager and she made me wait forever. Then quickly did one nail and rushed me out. It was truly awful. I will not be back.

Whatever you do, do not show up before they close. You will be rushed and made to pay with wet nails. I went at 630pm and even asked if there was enough time for a manicure. I was assured, yes. Well the manicure was super quick and polish literally swiped on as you can see he missed some of my nail. Now, I have to go today somewhere else to get another manicure because the polish bubbled, my cuticles were hardly touched, and the polish isn't on my nails correctly. I get I went in 30 minutes before closing but if they were going to rush, they should have said no to me and I would have understanded there wasn't enough time. What a bummer.

I was given to a women who didnt speak a lick of English. I picked my color, but was rushed to the chair. I understand it's late, but I want a color I'm happy with! I didn't have time to get the sparkle polish to go over my color. Last visit the girl got me the perfect sparkles and we called it a day. Let me just tell you this nightmare. I have natural nails. Only gel polish. I am trying to grow them because they were doing awful because they were grinded with that machine down to paper thin, and I could only wear nailtiques to try and revive them. I've been growing them out for about a year with only Esse polish, and keeping them short. So begins my journey to try and grow them again. Last week being my first visit for gel in over a year. I choose NY Nails to be my salon of choice. It's $35 for a gel manicure. Back to last night's visit. The woman soaks off my previous gel polish, scraping it off very heavy handed and borderline painful. I keep my mouth shut. I did flinch and say "ow" once. She just nodded. Then she said something... I only assumed based on the stage we were on the manicure, she may have been asking whether I wanted them cut, or filed, and what shape. So I just say, filed and square. Another girl working there confirmed she did ask me what I thought. Again, it had literally no resemblance to any words I even know in the English language, or even when I turn on my accent ear. I had nothing. I normally do pretty good. Anyway, she begins filing aggressively my natural nails on the tops. I'm thinking I should say stop, but maybe she sees something I dont? I just said I think my nails will be ok with one filing, I hope. After all of the aggressive prep, comes the polish. First the clear nail base. After which I said, should I go get the glitter polish? She smiles and nods and points at a bottle on her table. I figured she didn't understand me. She then puts on one, then two coats of the pink. I then say, now the glitter? She says "one more" (which I crazily understood), and I said ok, if you think it needs it. I said then the glitter? And she smiled and nodded. Then she finishes with all the pink, and grabs the bottle she keeps pointing to. Only to find that it's clear. She puts it on my pinky... that's when I say "I guess I'm not getting glitter today?" She ignored me all together. I said it again, "No glitter?" She ignored me again, kept polishing and digging her fingernail into the sides of my nail to clear any overflow. Then it was over. She started putting lotion on my arms and hands. At this point I felt defeated. She got up to go somewhere in the back, when I got up and decided to look for glitter myself. I went to find it, and there she was all of a sudden standing next to me, smiling... I said slowly "GLITTER" "You forgot about the glitter!" "I wanted glitter". She then says "sorry" and giggles. Then we try to find an appropriate glitter. Mind you, there is already one extra layer of polish over the norm on my nails. We find a suitable glitter. She was good with one coat, and I said "one more" this time, because you could hardly see it. What's the point at that point? She does the 2 coats... Now it's about 8:10 p.m. and the place closes at 8:00 p.m. She's rushing and probably flustered from the young woman standing over inspecting her work and digging her nail into the sides of my nail trying to remove the overflow. Which is pretty bad at this point. So, after 2 glitter coats, now another top coat. So, my nails have a base coat, 3 coats of color, a top coat, two coats of glitter and another top coat for good measure. 8 coats of gel polish, I look like I have wavy nails now. So ugly. Ok if you see them from far away, but upon a closer look, it's alot of "oh's". Yeah. So being as I had to use the ATM and pay almost $4.00 for the transaction fee, and not allowed to take out $50, instead have to take out $60, and getting only $5 back from the $40... They weren't interested in giving me change, so basically forced the $10 out of me for a tip. I love tipping when tipping is earned. When the manicure is amazing and I'm happy. But when it's really bad and looks like the top of a humpback whale, I should've gotten the whole thing for FREE. If I return here, because I do love their pedicures, I will make darn sure that I do NOT ever get this woman to touch me ever again. When you walk in, she sits in the first row to the left, the first table towards the middle (not against the wall). If I had to guess, I'd say she was in her late 60's or 70's. Be warned. A picture is worth a thousand words. See below.
