I have debated writing this review but I feel it is important others who have had similar experiences be supported. I am unsure what the motivation is behind ridiculing and admonishing patrons of a nail salon about the positioning of their hands but apparently Tom seems to derive some sort of pleasure from doing it year after year. As customers, you enter into an unspoken contract with the provider of a service you will both treat each other with respect. I understand it can be frustrating when the provider feels their work may be negatively impacted if someone is not adhering to their requests to hold their hand in a particular manner. However, to repeatedly grab someone's hands and shove them into a position while accusing them of purposefully not listening to you is borderline abusive and embarrassing. Dumbfounded, I sat there and endured his endless tirade about what was wrong with me and how I must be behaving in this manner on purpose. I apologized multiple times for not understanding exactly what position he wanted me to be in but it was for naught. He "schooled" me in a disrespectful, condescending and demeaning manner in front of several other customers. This was not my first visit to this spa but it certainly will be my last. To charge me $70 plus gratuity for 50 mins of forceful shoving and verbal abuse I would rather light the cash on fire then go back to this business again. It is so disheartening to see a talented man who is unable to keep his anger in check long enough to provide a service. His wife, Amy, could not have been kinder. It is obvious she has witnessed his erratic behavior before because she did attempt to defuse the situation with some levity. My complaints are echoed by multiple other customers over the year so the onus resides with the owner. I read his defenseless rebuttals to others posts and perhaps one of these days he will take a moment and actually read what people are saying. You are an extremely talented individual but you are losing customers because you fail to recognize this is a super saturated market when one can simply walk down the street and get the same service minus the abuse. Instead of spending time trying to distort my review which you most likely will, why not take a moment and reflect on why you continue to behave in such an irrational manner and work on healing yourself. One word...Amazing! Best pedicure I've had in a long time. I have all good things to say about my experience. Safety protocols were followed. Friendly, warm and knowledgeable staff chatted with me and talked about the best way to keep my dry heels nice and soft. I was given a long and comforting massage along with some heated oil. I was going to get my nails done for my WEDDING. AND I LEFT THE SALON CRYING. No kindness and awful service. he was SO AGGRESSIVE AND POMPOUS. My sister called them a few times to make sure they could do what I wanted. And when I came in he was complaining abt the many phone calls. I was understanding that they couldn't do some of the things I wanted so I said okay do something like this if you can. But he kept going on and on.... The owner is aggressive. Like beyond aggressive and loud that makes your ears ring. I just thought to get my pedicure done and leave. But he said I could leave 5 min into pedicure (so I did) because he could tell I was off. And I called my mom to just tell her how uncomfortable I was..... As I was leaving he said that he didn't like how I positioned my feet for the pedicure for him. I didn't position is the way you're supposed too Apparently... and he didn't like how he Has to tell me when to switch my feet. Honestly not everyone can read your mind All in all, not good people. I highly suggest avoiding this place. I called to confirm they could do certain things since my sister and I needed our nails done for her wedding. They were very rude on the phone and couldn't give a definitive answer. I went for my manicure and they were very rude. I got my nails done by the wife of the owner who wasn't the nicest. The manicure was also not done properly, she got the gel nail polish all over my cuticles and fingers. It felt like she was just doing a polish change as she barely put any cream or anything on my hands. My sister came in later and was getting her nails done by the owner. He told her he can't do any of the designs she had wanted. The owner just kept repeating himself and berating her for asking. He was annoyed that I called to make sure they could do what we wanted. He was talking so rudely to her that she literally left the salon crying. The worst is they knew it was her wedding coming up and they treated her so horribly. This is a service industry and there are a ton of nail salons in the area so it's not beneficial for these owners to be so rude to their clients. Overall I would AVOID this salon at all costs as the owners are just down right nasty to their customers, and they don't even do a sufficient manicure. read more

I've been a regular customer here for about 2 to 3 years. I always get an amazing manicure from Tom. I get compliments on my nails all the time. I've even had Karen do my nails one time and she does just as good of a job. Pedicures are great too, and regular customers even have their own implements set aside just for them in a numbered box. I highly recommend the salon. You should question and review that says differently. I suggest reading the reviews of the regulars who know this place best. Also, I laugh about the complaints about the parking. Everybody knows that any business with dedicated parking in Clinton always has signs up that it is for their customers only. Parking is a commodity in Clinton. People need to remember that a business that has parking is paying for it in their rent, and that the parking spaces are on private property. So to complain about a business owner who wants to keep those spaces available for their clients is ridiculous. Especially, when it's a business that takes appointments for their clients. Tom and Karen are both very nice, and they truly care about their clients. I've met several women who have been going there a lot longer than I have. Repeat customers are a testament to how good a business is. If you want your nails to look their best, this is the place to come to. read more

I have been getting my nails done here since 2018. I have never had a problem at all. My nails always last 3 weeks or more. I have never gotten any nail fungus, I always see them clean and sanitize everything after they use it. They are never rude, we always talk and laugh when I am there. I am always able to park in front of their shop, they are always looking out for their customers and make sure that no one parks in their spots. I also get my pedicures done here and have never had a problem with that either. I am constantly being complimented on my nails, I work in a doctor's office, and everyone is always asking me where I get my nails done. I have been going here for about 4 months. After reading other reviews, I realize I am not the only one Tom is aggressive with while doing my nails. He twists and bends my hand aggressively for no reason. It makes me very uncomfortable. They seem to rush every time I'm there and I've noticed that none of their tools are ever sanitized beforehand. The nail filer and tools are all covered in the last clients "dust". I just got an infection in 2 nails after the last service. Last time I was there, I asked for Karen because Tom is so rough with me and asked for square nails. They came out jagged and concave and she was really rushed when working with me. Tom always does the same. Tried to be loyal but they don't seem to care about my business. I will never go back. read more

Worst nail experience I've had in my entire life. I've never had someone told me that I'm holding my hands wrong when getting my nails done, on top of that it was pretty bad anyways. I've watched the owner " Tom" walk outside when people park in a space for two minutes to grab their food from places nearby and puts a fake notice on their car and takes a picture of their license plate. Tom and Karen are professionals! Unlike the other reviews, I have never found Tom to be rude or aggressive, quite the opposite actually. The first time I came here to get my nails done, I had not been to a salon or even touched nail polish in over a year because of how badly getting acrylic nails at other salons had damaged my sensitive and thin nail beds, I told Tom about my prior history with nails and he was very gentle. Now after months I still have no damage and my natural nails are stronger and healthier than ever. I was especially grateful for Tom and Karen fitting me in between appointments, as I was a walk-in. Karen is so friendly and knowledgable and I love sitting down in her booth and talking and laughing with her. Unlike other salons, they actually listen to me when I tell them what I want done instead of just going with whatever they want to do. Great service and great people! read more

Great nail salon! Tom and Karen are both sweet and meticulous with nails and designs. The prices are a little higher than most nail places, but the quality of the work is worth it! For someone who is super busy like me and doesn't always have time to get her nails done, I know that they will last me quite awhile! Wouldn't go back. Went in for a pedicure with my sister, and opted to treat myself to the spa package. The salon itself is very clean and has lots of selections for polish colors and pedicure soaks. However, the technician WOULD NOT STOP talking to her friend/coworker during my service. Every time she would say something to her friend, she'd completely stop what she was doing to gossip. I paid $45+ tip ($50+) for my pedicure, and it was nowhere near worth it. My massage / scrub / hot stone service was constantly interrupted and came to a complete stop literally every 10 seconds. I was close to asking her to just forget it and/or switch to someone who isn't so distracted. I'll look for a more professional salon going forward. read more

I don't know about Karen or anyone else who works here, but Tom is beyond rude and does not make for a relaxing nice spa experience whatsoever. I felt so scolded and stupid because I couldn't hold my hands right for the guy. I saw other reviewers said the same thing so I'm glad it's not just me! He tried to sell me this "medicine" for my nails he said I needed for $25 - said he was giving it to me at a special price, that it's normally $30 - lol the stuff is $7-$9 at every pharmacy, walmart and Amazon. I did wonder what was up with this place when I walk in on a Friday afternoon before Halloween and NO ONE is there. Diva and Serenity would be packed! BTW, I meant to go to Serenity b/c my daughter and I loved that place when we went together several weeks back and for some reason, I thought it was Tom's which is why I made the appt. here in the first place. I realized my mistake as soon as I pulled up, but figured "what the heck? I'll try it." Wish I never made the mistake. Remember the "Soup Nazi" from Seinfeld? This guy is the nail nazi. Never going back. P.S. My nails turned out okay but I don't like this liquid gel he suggested because it's very thick.
