WORST EXPERIENCE IN FLEMINGTON! I went there at the end of July. When I called to make my appt, I…read moresaid I already had color gels and and needed a fill. I told them I wanted "pink/whites" they gave me the price over the phone (can't recall exactly what it was, but ~$40). First opportunity they had to clarify that if I didn't have pink and whites on my nails that they would need to apply a new set and it would cost as twice as much. I wanted to try the place as many coworkers go there and seem to like it. I asked to be scheduled with the most popular/experienced person who does gels. They scheduled me with Lena. I walked into the salon and was impressed with it's cleanliness/decor. They also had an impressive gel color selection. (the only 2 positives of this place) I showed up on time, waited at least 30min for my appt. I was attended by a male (I believe he's one of the owners). Prior to getting started he DID NOT explain: 1. he would need to remove all my gels COMPLETELY 2. he was doing an INITIAL GEL SET OF PINK AND WHITES (which carries a significant price differential, i.e. $70, not what I was quoted over the phone. I found all this out when it came time to pay at the end). 3. in reality i did NOT need pink and whites since i wasn't planning on having a permanent french manicure. I told him i was testing the salon out for my wedding french manicure and that I usually get gel color over my gel nails. at which point he should have just offered to fill my gels and do a gel french manicure. I'm new to the world of gel nails and didn't realize at that time that it was even an option. So he proceeded to completely remove all my gels and file down my nails to completely nothing. He did NOT put on the sticker extensions to elongate them after. I explained in the beginning before he got started, I like a NATURAL look (NOT TOO SQUARE AND NOT TOO ROUNDED) with a thin/elegant french line. he started doing the gels and was applying a very thick line. I kept saying, "it's too thick, I want it thinner." He kept reassuring me it's going to look great this is how it's supposed to look. When he was filing my nails at the end they were complete wide square boxes and again I repeated I wanted a natural look with round soft edges. 1.5 hours later and $70, I left EXTREMELY upset and taken advantage of. I told them that when I called that wasn't the price quoted to me. In reality, it was def my fault for not confirming the price prior to him starting. Icing on the cake- The moment I walked out and the sun hit my nails I noticed several bubbles in some of my nails. I walked back and tried to politely show it to them. They weren't interested. At that point they already had my money, so what was the point of trying to make things better? WORST NAIL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. I would never go back even if they offered me a free service.

I've been going to this salon for almost one year. I'm so glad I switched from my former stylist…read more I see Amanda - she is excellent. I've always left feeling happy and confident- my hair always looks great. She's so good at interpreting what I need because I'm so bad at explaining! I highly recommend this place and Amanda. You'll feel great. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is welcoming and the pricing is reasonable. Shout out to Kat too. She's so attentive and I've seen her in action training new staff.

But several women have asked me about my experience here, and after explaining it, they encouraged me to share it so others can be aware. I was a regular client at this salon for about three years. I came every two months for touch-ups, and I always had great experiences with my stylist, Lauren. She is extremely talented and I never had an issue with her. About five months ago I had an event coming up, and since Lauren wasn't available, I booked with Danielle, one of the owners. I was a platinum blonde transitioning back to my natural dirty blonde, and for months I had only been getting a toner. I asked for something more long-lasting. I showed two inspiration photos to explain the warm tone I wanted--something like a teddy-bear brown with subtle warm/copper undertones, not ashy. Unfortunately, the color I received was much darker and more red than what I had asked for. In certain lighting it looked purple, and the roots were noticeably red. I felt overwhelmed and didn't express how I felt in the moment, paid, and went home. I called back the same day because I realized I really didn't feel comfortable with the color. Danielle offered for me to come in the next day. At that appointment they tried toning and then added highlights. After hours of processing, my hair became very damaged--rubbery, gummy, and breaking. I was extremely upset to see how compromised it was. I was then charged again at checkout, which surprised me given that this was a correction for a result I hadn't been happy with. I was also later offered a $60 credit toward a future service, but considering the cost of the appointments and the condition of my hair afterward, it didn't feel like enough to make things right. My hair has taken months to recover, and another salon actually turned me away due to the level of damage, which confirmed for me how serious it was. Again, I'm not writing this to hurt a business. I just want to share my experience so others know to ask plenty of questions and make sure there is a very clear consultation before moving forward with a major color change. After posting this, I also received private messages from the salon that made me uncomfortable. I won't share them publicly, but I have kept screenshots I also included my before and after photos in this review so people can clearly see the result. The "after" photo is the one of me in the green shirt, which was actually posted on the salon's own Instagram. The "before" photo is the mirror picture showing my hair before this appointment. I also added another inspiration picture to show the warm tone and subtle red hints I originally asked for.
