I have been going to Lux Nails for years and I always use the same person. I was there last week and there was a horrible smell. I kept asking, "What is that horrible smell?" And she keep telling me, "It always smells like this." When I said, "No, it does not." She would not reply. Meanwhile, she is wearing a N95 mask. I asked her to take it off and smell the awful smell and she keep ignoring me. Meanwhile I observed one lady with her sweater over her mouth and nose and another lady with her scarf over her mouth and nose. I even started coughing and ran outside for fresh air. I came back in after a few minutes to finish my nails. I left with a headache and the next morning woke up with a horrible headache (and I infrequently get headaches). I will NEVER steep a foot into that salon again. read more

I'm still sitting in the massage - pedicure chair as I type this, letting my toes dry! I was skeptical when I walked into this huge place and there was only one other person in here. It's clean, my nails look great, my lady was thorough and very sensitive. She kept asking me if I was ok, if anything was too hot, if I was hurting. Which everything was perfect. Have gone to Lux nails for the past 4 or 5 years and before that it was another place in Bridgewater that closed. However, the Bridgewater location was where I met Holly, who is now the owner of Lux nails. She is a sweetheart and does an awesome job on my nails. I get the gel filling every 3 weeks or so. I always get plain unless I have a special event coming up and then I have them done as french style. I always get compliments on how nice my nails look. Being older and not having young attractive hands, the pretty nails definitely make my hands look better and that makes me feel better. I cant imagine going anywhere else. read more

Went for a pedicure only. Wasn't the best, wasn't the worst. However, the technician was pulling the tools out of her drawer and using them on my feet.... clippers, foot file, etc. It wasn't until the end of my service that I watched her simply run all the tools under the running water of the foot bath and then put them back in her drawer to be used on the next client. Had I have known ahead of time NOTHING was sterilized in between uses, I never would have allowed those tools to be used on my feet. Due to this unsanitary practice, I will never return and absolutely do not recommend. read more

My friend always has the most beautiful nails and I finally asked her where she gets that done. She told me she has been coming to Lux nails in Flemington for over 10 years, and invited me to join her at her upcoming appointment. I was very happy with my manicure, and went back another time, and I am sure I will be back many more times. The staff are very professional and talented. The facility is clean. I thought I lived this place....my third visit, I didn't pay attention to the tools used, so I can't say if they were clean or not but a week later and my toe is keeping me awake...its throbbing, red, sore...infected!!!!!!!! You pay just as much here for a pedi as anywhere else, but thiis is more of a no frills, no massage kind of pedi. Got my nails done here for thanksgiving, I came in with gel already on my nails so they had to use the sand roller and they sanded my nails so thin that they are like paper even with new gel on top. This has caused multiple nails to crack and break painfully. read more

This is a very clean establishment with reasonable prices. The actual service effort wasn't as good as some other salons as far as massaging with your pedicure, but the cleanliness made up for what they lacked in massage. The painting was typical, but nothing special. read more

i just got a gel manicure sunday - i was taken back immediately, the girl did a good job with the basic manicure, though i wish she'd trimmed my cuticles more. two of my nails have thicker globs of polish towards the end .. but, i guess a last minute need for a manicure it's good enough. hopefully it lasts 2+ weeks... it's been a week and my nails are bubbling and the lack of cuticles that we're cut off are already over growing my nails beds, some spots are painful. i will not be returning to lux. read more

Make an appointment with Daisy- a true professional. I never wait here even though they are very busy.

I came in here to get my gel polish removed and just a regular polish put in- no manicure. I was put with a woman and then moved to be with a man. He tried to get me to buy a manicure and when I said no thank you, he rolled his eyes. He then started the process of removing the gel and when I was waiting for it to soak he pulled out a nail clipper and started trimming his nails. His nails were flying everywhere in the salon which is disgusting. He then used the same nail clippers to shorten my nails. He didn't even make the ends of my nails smooth and the polish is rough. He did the worst job I've ever seen painting my nails and seemed to care 0% about me as a customer. I will never be returning here. read more

I got a set of acrylic done today and to say the least I was very disappointed. There was no manicure aspect in the sense that prior to applying the nail glue and acrylic my cuticles were not cut, nails were not filed, etc. After the nail polish was applied I sat under the dryer for at least 20 minutes and even then the nail polish was uneven, sticky, clumpy and smudged. After I left, the polish was just clumping up and coming off. Every nail was a different size and shape. Overall it looked a mess. It was to the point where I went home and took off the polish and completely refiled my nails and repainted them. I was also disappointed that I did not receive hand lotion or a hot towel when I saw other customers receiving this. I'm so disappointed that I spent $40 on this. Now this is not to say the entire business is not good. Many of the other techs were busy with appointments. I hate to leave a bad review over one tech but I would recommend doing some research and make an appointment with someone who is more experienced! read more

Worst experience ever! Made an appointment. Walk ins were taken before me and 3 others with appointments. The lady Mary I got stuck with either needs a vacation or to quit! Instantly in a bad mood, I didn't want spa treatment for $20 more. Insisted I feel the gel she would put on my legs with " the spa" It was like lidocaine, it numbed the back of my hand . What would my legs feel like. Her mood worsened because I had my own colour( that goes with an outfit I am wearing tomorrow) . I had to scooch up in the chair for her to reach me , so now my neck and back hurt. They actually are not clean like they were when reopening with Covid. I had to ask her to wipe the drying station ( that caused a mood) . Usually a manicure and pedicure is zen /relax time ( that we pay for ) . I can't ever imagine going back to dirty nasty Lux nails thanks to Mary ( Mary who was in the dirty nail place by Clinton Shoprite yrs back ) if I could give a negative star vs one to write this post I would. read more

Went here due to location and the fact it was open on a Sunday. I didn't realize how big this place is, with tons of mani stations and pedi chairs. My friend and I got an appointment pretty much right on time - gel mani for me and regular for her. My manicurist Hannah was so helpful and talked me out of picking the color that I did because another lady had an experience with the color changing over time. I picked a different color and love it. She did a full, thorough manicure before applying the gel (no short cuts!). She did a very smooth job and applied an extra coat for me. Also, my friend only has one hand. She got a manicure and the lady who worked there did not charge her full price. I thought that was very considerate! Clean, great gel mani, respectful employees, and lots of space! Very unfortunate waste of money& time. Tried this place based on the 5 stars and found it to not be anywhere near good. I get my nails done every other week and am not particular. I tip well and know exactly what I like. I went for a fill with gel polish and a pedi. My nails are always square and I don't change that. By the time I left my nails were a mix of oval and coffin, polish all over my skin, cuticles, and missing on sections of my nails. I called and let them know and they told me they would fix it I just needed to be there the following morning at 8:30 am which I was. They didn't have someone to fix my nails, they passed me off between 5 different people, and while with the last person I was seated next to the tech who did my nails the day before. They had lost the color from the previous day which I had on my toes, I was continually told I was too particular, told I don't communicate well, and schooled on how nail polish works. This all took 2 hours of my time and with having an event that same day, I'm left with still below par nails. I could have done a better job myself at this point. read more

My daughter and I have always had a great experience coming to Lux. I go for waxing and she goes for her nails. I always try to get Holly to do my waxing and my daughter likes her for her nails. My daughter has had both gel nails and acrylic nails and they do a great job on both. Usually we come in without a reservation and they are usually able to take us without a wait. Worse than horrible. I made an appointment for a gel fill mani 6 days in advance (for 10:30 on a Wed.) which they denied when i arrived even though I was able to prove it on my phone. I recalled the person I spoke with identified herself as "manager" and when I asked her to schedule me with a nail tech who was good with designs, she refused because --I wrote this down --"we're all good...all equal good." I told her i knew this was impossible; there were always 1 or 2 talented artists and I was looking for a new manicurist to spend a lot of money on. "We all good. If she can't do your design, i do for you." Ok. So, on arrival, appointment denied. Next, they ask me to wait half hour for woman at 1st desk. --she can do gel fill but can't do any design--I say ok, how about polka dots? "No design". I stress I can only wait half hour as i have a dr. appointment. Half hour passes, i walk to her desk...she's not there--has started a pedicure--whaaaat? "I make more.money on feet." Different employees (clueless) jump in, start over, telling me i have no appointment, now scolding me like a child, insisting, ridiculously, I must have called a different salon...now nearly an hour has passed on NONSENSE ...Of course I'm finally upset . . . They're calling ME "disrespectful"...pretty soon I'm surrounded by 4-5 young nasty women yelling at me to leave their shop which I was eagerly trying to do (I'm handicapped and they were blocking my walker) ...I'm considering 911...fun trip to new salon turned into NIGHTMARE FROM HELL. read more
