Red balyage with bleached tips
Brenda K.

I've usually gone to another place for my hair the last 5 years and wanted to try something new. The owner of hair flair is very kind and she really listens to what you want. I decided to get a balyage coloring done and love it. The price for it was a little high than I typically pay which is why I gave it 4 stars even with a 20% off my first visit but other than that it was a great experience.

Great rich color!

Respectfully, these are the same valid potential customer questions from a person (me) with a…read morehistory of experiencing bruising and skin peeling from an eyebrow soft waxing encounter, that were also presented to two other licensed professionals in the industry that provide the same waxing services you offer - in addition to sugaring services; the difference is that as professionals the other two business owners extended the professional courtesy of speaking with me knowing I was a potential customer and appreciated the questions using the questions as an opportunity to educate a potential customer about industry changes and better products on the market that better accommodate customers with very sensitive skin, like myself. What is abundantly clear, is that you are refusing to hold yourself accountable and failing to take responsibility for initially informing me (by your own admission) that you did have availability last evening to have a brief planned discussion about important questions very personal to my eye brow waxing experiences until at the last minute it was decided it was no longer convenient for you. I was already planning to cancel the appointment as I was indirectly sensing a lack of motivation and effort on your part to engage with me as a potential customer. I have no desire to conduct business with an individual who cannot make the clear distinction between a well-informed potential customer making a genuine inquiry versus a business solicitor, nor do I wish to conduct business with an individual who doesn't have enough respect for their craft or enough respect for a potential customer to not make themselves available for a mutually planned brief standard phone consultation to determine if they can be of service to a potential customer. As a consumer and potential customer, this is the first time I have ever encountered this type of response from a business owner. It is also evidence that your establishment does not meet three of my very important business criteria, not realized until this encounter, lacking competence, professionalism, and lacking the ability to hold your own self accountable to your own questionable business standard implied in the last absurd response. I am glad I had the foresight to have had a short list to work from, already having an alternate booked appointment with a true professional who had no issues doing their job, making themselves available and competent enough to comprehend that addressing my valid concerns are relevant to my specific and very personal experience and also used the opportunity to educate me about the how waxing products and services have changed over the years since my unpleasant encounter years ago with a soft wax product that caused me great discomfort, rather than offending and making an unwarranted assumption about my questions being about business research. Here's some professional free advice - enroll yourself into a customer service 101 class (Client Care and Potential Customer Communications Enlightenment) with an emphasis on business/customer awareness and for good measure enroll in a class on business ethics (accountability 101). Please carefully note, I do not wish to receive any further forms of communications from you personally or as a business entity as I have moved on.

This studio/salon is one of the best I have ever been to. It starts with one on one individual attention that revolves totally around you the minute you walk in the door. The atmosphere is beautiful and relaxed. You are greeted by Joanna, you select a tea of choice, which is served in a lovely tea cup with a gourmet cookie or chocolate if you prefer. First visit Joanna will let you know of her extensive impressive training. You move into the treatment room, heated bed again beautiful surroundings and calming music. You leave feeling totally relaxed and you will know the difference of Joanna's facials (which there are many) to others you have had. Obviously, I am a huge fan! Marilyn Z

I'd just turned 60 when I met Joanna and begged her to rejuvenate and hydrate my skin, and work to reduce my pores. I'd been visiting the "1 hour in- and out- cookie cutter" facial spas near me with not much luck. Mission accomplished after one visit! (yes ladies, at this age, we really need to treat ourselves to a professional exfoliation!) After this first treatment, Joanna asked what I was using as make up remover and moisturizer. I answered I used Neutrogena or L'Oreal. Great brands, right? Apparently not good enough. Although really skeptical of trying something new at first, I agreed to try Joanna's products. I figured nothing could rid me of my scaly dehydrated skin in between facials but honestly, I noticed a profound difference after one week. I even used the make up remover on my lips to remove stubborn drying lipstick. Less than one week later, the dehydration was completely gone. So, to all my fabulous sisters in their 60s (and younger!) please try this incredible spa at least once to see what a difference a true, highly educated aesthetician can make for you.

I've always left feeling happy and confident- my hair always looks great. She's so good at interpreting what I need because I'm so bad at explaining! I highly recommend this place and Amanda. You'll feel great. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is welcoming and the pricing is reasonable. Shout out to Kat too. She's so attentive and I've seen her in action training new staff.

But several women have asked me about my experience here, and after explaining it, they encouraged me to share it so others can be aware. I was a regular client at this salon for about three years. I came every two months for touch-ups, and I always had great experiences with my stylist, Lauren. She is extremely talented and I never had an issue with her. About five months ago I had an event coming up, and since Lauren wasn't available, I booked with Danielle, one of the owners. I was a platinum blonde transitioning back to my natural dirty blonde, and for months I had only been getting a toner. I asked for something more long-lasting. I showed two inspiration photos to explain the warm tone I wanted--something like a teddy-bear brown with subtle warm/copper undertones, not ashy. Unfortunately, the color I received was much darker and more red than what I had asked for. In certain lighting it looked purple, and the roots were noticeably red. I felt overwhelmed and didn't express how I felt in the moment, paid, and went home. I called back the same day because I realized I really didn't feel comfortable with the color. Danielle offered for me to come in the next day. At that appointment they tried toning and then added highlights. After hours of processing, my hair became very damaged--rubbery, gummy, and breaking. I was extremely upset to see how compromised it was. I was then charged again at checkout, which surprised me given that this was a correction for a result I hadn't been happy with. I was also later offered a $60 credit toward a future service, but considering the cost of the appointments and the condition of my hair afterward, it didn't feel like enough to make things right. My hair has taken months to recover, and another salon actually turned me away due to the level of damage, which confirmed for me how serious it was. Again, I'm not writing this to hurt a business. I just want to share my experience so others know to ask plenty of questions and make sure there is a very clear consultation before moving forward with a major color change. After posting this, I also received private messages from the salon that made me uncomfortable. I won't share them publicly, but I have kept screenshots I also included my before and after photos in this review so people can clearly see the result. The "after" photo is the one of me in the green shirt, which was actually posted on the salon's own Instagram. The "before" photo is the mirror picture showing my hair before this appointment. I also added another inspiration picture to show the warm tone and subtle red hints I originally asked for.
