TOTAL WASTE OF MORE THAN $150. Went with Maria for men's haircut and I showed her my previous pics and the kind of haircut that I want. I also told her that I do want to maintain the "poof" even after haircut. She cut it short as per my request but then she used the scissors diagonally and gave me a spike cut. I never asked for a spike cut. My hair is sticking out like a porcupine which doesn't look uniform. The worst part is that I had to wait a whole week to cover my premature grey hair and to go for highlights. They were supposed to be open till 8 pm on Thursdays but they decided to close early on July 18th, 2024. They could have easily accommodated everything on that day since my appointment was for 5 pm and 3 hours are more than enough for haircut, base color and highlights. Went with Annie for base color (to cover my white hair) and highlights. She said she could do nothing about the porcupine hair and kept saying that my hair length is too short for the aluminum foil. How is it my fault is Maria screwed up? You guys should have internally co-ordinated. Annie ended up using the cap from which hair strands are pulled out. The end result is ugly as only one side of my head is covered in highlights and the other one is empty. I have been to other salons where they do a much better job at a much lesser rate. Guys - do yourself a favor and never go there for men's haircut or hair color as they will screw you up. Since they primarily cater to female clientele, they really don't know how to deal with men's hair. Never going back to this incompetent place ever again. read more

I am new to town and was looking for a stylist. I have long hair straight hair and I wanted a simple cut. I wanted to cut my split ends and keep my long layers and face frame. The stylist did a terrible job!! So much so that I had to go back and get it "fixed" the next day. I went somewhere else for my next cut and I asked for the same thing. My hair came out great. This place was recommended to me by a friend but my experience was completely different. So to begin, I wanted the same hair balayage as my friend. I had messaged Lailah on instagram and we began discussing an appointment. We set one up for about 4 weeks later, she gave me an estimate of the price saying I'd need 2 processes to get my hair the lightness I wanted. Ok fine. The estimate was ~$275 including cut and blow out so I agreed and was super excited! Before going I spoke with my friend. She had told me her whole balayage process took from 11am-6pm so that's the time I anticipated. (Keep in mind her hair was already blonder than mine) When I get there and we started she was super nice and everything was fine.. until she brings up casually "oh we actually started closing early on Saturdays in the summertime" and "oh by the way we started that today". Wait, so what time do you close today? "3:30pm but we'll try to get you as light as possible". So I'm thinking ok I'm basically being set up to fail. EVEN if I was 45min Late, the whole appointment needed at least 6 hours to fully be completed. 10:30am to 3:30pm is cutting extremely close. We end up only being able to do 1 process so my hair is NOWHERE as light as I wanted. And I ask, is there anyway you can stay a little to finish it? Like 45-1hr? It doesn't have to be blown out. Just want the color!! Her exact words were, "to be honest, no one is trying to stay." Right there is already a sign of bad customer service. So towards the end I ask, "so is today going to be cheaper since I need to come back and process again and then will be cheaper as well?" She says, "...well, next time will be cheaper." Excuse me?? So I ask how much today's SINGLE process will be since the ORIGINAL ESTIMATE FOR THE ENTIRE PROCESS TO GET THE COLOR I WANTED was ~$275. They said today will be $300! I freak out, and ask well then how much is the 2nd time? $190! So let me clarify, it went from a total of $275 to over $500 with tip just because they didn't want to stay to help me finish up NOT telling me they started closing earlier?! That's f...messed up. I was played to spend more money. I asked why it's more today for 1 process not 2. She said "well we had to gloss your hair twice because it's so long" umm.. you saw my instagram. You saw my hair. The estimate should have included that because you've seen my hair before. Summary: I was ripped off, didn't get the hair color I wanted. They were trying to get me to come back to pay more money. Never informed me they started to close at 3:30pm instead of 7 or 8pm or I would've never agreed to that appointment. So she asked would you like to set up that second process appointment? I had my balayage done by Lailah and couldn't be happier! I have been dying my hair at different salons for about 4 year nows and only at The Salon At Warren did I leave 1000% happier with my hair. I've tried many salons trying to keep my color updated every 3-4 months and honestly no stylist compares to Lailah's work. My balayage was done with a precise hand and amazing consideration for integrity of my hair. She transformed my hair from an ombre into a more natural, gradual balayage that is definitely more maintainable throughout the months. I had my hair done in the middle of March and 4 months later I can honestly say I do not feel like I need to get my roots done as quickly as I used to. My hair has grown out very natural with no harsh lines! I know from now on that I do not need to jump around to new salons because i have FINALLY found an amazing hair stylist who is overall well rounded and amazing at her job! I am always super skeptical when it comes to having someone color my hair. Asian hair gets brassy very easily and it's always been a battle trying to find the right person to color my hair the way I want. I got my balayage done by Lailah and had a wonderful experience! I told her my concerns about getting orange results when lightening my hair. She was extremely knowledgeable and explained to me that there are techniques that are used for different hair textures to avoid the brassiness. It really comes down to technique and how color is applied. I knew after that I was in good hands! I showed Lailah a few ideas that I liked. I wanted a cool toned/light brown type of color. Lailah looked at the pictures, knew exactly what I wanted, and went right to work. Whole process took about three hours or so. It's been a little over a month since my appointment and my balayage looks the same as when I walked out the salon. There is absolutely ZERO BRASSINESS. My balayage looks super natural, beautifully faded from my roots to the new color-- like beautiful sunkissed highlights! My prayers to the heavens have been answered and I didn't have that horrible dip dyed or strip highlight look that I know some people experience from inexperienced hair dressers. Despite lightening my hair, it's still just as healthy and soft as it was in the past. Having a hair dresser that cares about your hair integrity is so important because I'm sure no one wants a head full of brittle and dry hair. I couldn't be any happier with my results! Just got another balayage done by Lailah. I love her! She does amazing work. A year after I got my last balayge, I was still getting compliments on my hair color and by then all my roots were grown out but it still looked awesome. She really takes the time to make sure each section of your hair is perfect. I tend to always want a warm color that has a natural highlight. And that's exactly what she did for me this time. She cut and styled my hair for my bridal shower and I received so many compliments on how great it looked. A coupon came in the mail for 50% off one service at this salon for first time customers so I gave it a try. The Salon at Warren is in Quail Run Plaza. The decor is posh and the receptionist had a fun Pandora station going. They've got a nice coffee machine and bagels with a few different kinds of cream cheese. Besides all of these perks, they also give wonderful haircuts-- normally I get quite upset when I lop off as much hair as I did, but the layers the stylist gave me left me a happy camper. The one downside was that the website advertises lower prices for haircuts done on weekends (based on your stylist's level of training) and so I was expecting a lower price than what I was actually initially charged. With my coupon pre-tip I ended up paying $27 but in the future I'd clarify in order to avoid any surprises at the register. I want to give them 5 stars for my haircut but the misunderstanding or whatever it was about how much I was to be charged knocks these guys down a star. read more

Went for a Japanese hair straightening treatment with Laura. My hair broke in multiple places that was noticeable. I went to her a couple times prior without issue. When I went back to the salon to show them what had happened, they immediately turned it around and said I should not be getting them so frequently (every 3-4 months as opposed to 6 months). But hello, aren't you the ones taking my appointment and said it was okay for me to get it done? Who is the "expert" here. Anyway, so to add the cherry on top of the $450 + $100 tip I had already spent, they suggested I get a protein treatment to strengthen the hair for another $100, which I ended up doing like an idiot. This place needs to revise their customer service and their Japanese Hair Straightening skills. I will never be going back. Fast forward 7 months later and my hair still hasn't grown back. If you need the Japanese done, go to Hairitage Salon in Somerville or Capelli Hair Salon in Edison. Their customer service is EXCELLENT, the price is much better ($350-400) and they don't over process or ruin your hair! read more

I would highly suggest saving yourself the time and money by finding a different salon. The staff and especially the manager, Chris, are exceptionally arrogant and condescending. After coming to get a partial balayage and 3 hours later having my hair look exactly how it started, I came in twice for corrections and was shocked at how each time was increasingly worse (would not suggest Ed for your stylist). I have never felt so attacked by an employee before, let alone the manager. You will be better off at Bellezza or Heads Up, or any other salon close by. I brought in 3 photos and she said okay, no problem. Well 3 hours later, my hair went from blonde to medium brown. Even the girl washing my hair was like "um..its darker.." It was dull and not anything like I asked. She rushed me out, didn't even ask if I liked it, and here's the worst part - it was $324.
