It's quite disappointing because Reflections was highly recommended yet they refuse to service those who chose to go with a previous Dr and service other than them. I insisted I was not looking for the Dr. to "fix" anything but was still told "NO". So, I suggest all potential patients who have had procedures done before Reflections... SEEK ELSEWHERE!!! Yall know how seriously I take medical care as a fat Black woman. When I find a practice that cares…read morefor me as a whole person I will amplify them accordingly. First things first, it is incredibly hard to find a surgical dermatologist. In this field it often seems like aesthetics over everything. Before the pandemic ruined everyone's life I was being seen at 2 practices in north jersey - the first one didn't seem to understand why I would be bothered that my alopecia spots weren't healing and the second practice stopped taking insurance after my second appointment. As each injection is hundreds of dollars lmao that promising relationship ended quickly. Healthcare for the rich indeed. For the last 5 years I've been managing the patchiness on my own to inconsistent effect. Recently, another unrelated issue requiring surgery kicked me into high gear to find a new provider. I sought recs from my local FB group, friends and family, etc but they all kept leading me down cottage skincare and other lanes. It was actually a good old-fashioned Google search that led me to Dr. Patel. Bravo on winning the SEO game! From the moment I called (and rescheduled thrice due to car trouble - dang it MINI), the office was welcoming, accommodating, and scheduling relatively quick appointments. On my first visit, Dr.Patel and his team were thorough, curious, and caring. I felt so comfortable with them and I felt like I mattered. In many ways women become "invisible" after age 40 - add race and body size to the mix and it can be difficult to get the care and compassion needed to navigate health challenges. Dr. Patel suggested I get a full blood work up - and actually caught my low iron and anemia. So many somatic mysteries cleared up just because someone listened and cared. I have a surgical procedure scheduled in a few weeks that will bring me immediate comfort and the topical meds and injections Dr. Patel is giving me have restarted hair growth in some persistent patchy spots. I'm very thankful I found this practice!

I decided to come here for my own care. I was very impressed by Dr Sutton. She is very warm and friendly. She answered all of my questions, and gave me a good plan to follow. I never felt rushed. As a matter of fact, she pulled up a chair to talk with me. She then checked all my moles thoroughly. ( I try to get them checked yearly.) The staff is very friendly. I was given an appointment for two weeks later, to get the results and talk about treatment. On my way to the appointment I checked my messages and they left a message saying there was an issue with my biopsy. I called the office and they said the lab said there was not enough sample to get an accurate read, and that I would need to do the biopsy again.. I was like what? I thought I was going there to get my results, not to have the same painful thing done to me again, and band aid on my face again for a week. I cancelled my appointment and will never go back there. Unfortunately I have to have a biopsy again, there is no other choice, but definitely not there.

His staff made me feel comfortable, valued, and well informed. As a 24 year old, having the idea of Breast Reduction surgery was overwhelming. Even though it is something that I've wanted for years the idea of having a major surgery is scary. Dr.Momeni & his great staff held my hand through this process and made me feel at ease! I called Dr. Momeni's office a total of three times to vet my insurance, the doctor, and his process before driving an hour for a consultation with Dr. Momeni. I spoke with two different women, including Shannon, and I was extremely thorough. I provided my specific UHC ID number and plan details. The first woman I spoke with told me they accept UHC "as an umbrella" no matter what the plan is. I didn't just take her word for it--I specifically asked for an official check to be efficient. She said sure, I know we take it but I'll "verify". She put me on hold and came back and said "Yes, we take your plan." I even called back a second time to double-check and was told "Yes" again. Momeni was scheduled as an early morning appt, I drove an hour, and took time out of my day. I filled out all the paperwork, gave insurance and Shannon came out and smugly announced they don't take my plan. Instead of treating me with kindness for their massive administrative error, she had a look of pure condescension and blamed me. She accused me of "putting myself in this position" by not disclosing my insurance--a flat-out lie since I gave them my ID number and they supposedly did an "official check" on it. When I responded that I would never do that, Shannon responded with a silent stare-down that lasted a full minute, and then said, 'We don't take your insurance' in a very stern, condescending voice. This was very disconcerting and patronizing. She behaved arrogantly and dismissive, as if she were trying to belittle me. It was frankly embarrassing to be treated with that kind of smugness after I had already double-checked my insurance with their office. And to be accused to deception is something that should have never happen.
