Cynthia is a seasoned colorist that has been working for decades. she has great intuition and takes her time. she's adorable and a great conversationalist but if you want to relax and have quiet time she will oblige too. she's kind and very talented. i have fine hair but it's asian and resistant to bleaching. i saw her previously for color correction when i tried to bleach myself but now i am a regular. she's a gem.. if you're considering going icy blond, she's the colorist to use!! read more

Great work by Kim today! Made an appointment for my mom to get a haircut and blowout today with her. The consult was great and she gave us exactly what we wanted! Angled in the back with a few layers around her face. Wonderful job and was relatively quick! Usually salons take soooo long but this was perfect amount of time and we didn't feel rushed either. But when I said that I was going to look around for other options since I wasn't sure about going with other stylists he sarcastically said "Have fun then" and hung up. Got my hair colored red here today as I have done several times before. However, they managed to ruin three pieces of my clothing stained with red color due to lack of proper application, washing, and carelessness when removing the apron. I got a huge red stain on my white shirt which bleed through my bra. I later noticed my jacket collar was stained red because the excess hair color was not cleaned off my neck properly. If I wanted to ruin 3 clothing items I would have bought a box of dye and done it myself. Staff was not very apologetic nor accommodating. Will not be returning! Edit: I was not asked if I would like to change into a robe before coloring. Today, I washed my hair 6 times and still so much red color was coming out and my scalp is still stained. I was compensated for the shirt after arguing but not the jacket. Also, the color came out more purple than red. read more

So what's a Union County guy doing in Hunterdon. Lebanon isn't exactly next door to Berkeley Heights. Well, my stylist left her salon and offered to cut my hair at my home. Much appreciated but I'm not a shut in. I like the comfort of a salon and getting my hair cut while sitting on my dining room chair did not appeal to me. So, since I spend a lot of time out this way, I asked a friend for a recommendation. So glad I wound up at Artiste. Sandy cuts my hair and makes me look human. Everyone is exceedingly friendly. I needed a blow-out desperately for a wedding I was attending later in the afternoon, but I wasn't from the area, so I consulted yelp.. I lucked out bc just as I called Artiste Salon, stylist Shirley had a cancellation...so they were able to squeeze me in. Great shampoo first by Sam, then a lovely blow out from Shirley. Everyone was friendly and nice. My only complaint, if you could even call it that, was that I would've preferred my hair a bit straighter than it ended up being.. I am extremely picky when it comes to having someone blow out my hair, it's thick and curly, and there is nothing worse than paying for a blowout and it looks terrible. I also get a trim and blow out, but the coloring is critical not only for the look but the health of my hair. I was tired for just doing pony or Bun and went for much needed Hair cut. I called them and asked if I can be seen soon for hair cut and they were able to Fit me in. My stylist was Danielle who listened to me patiently and asked what i was i thinking and if I had any photos and gave her recommendation. I got haircut, color and mini-highlights. I spent close to 3 hours there and I loved my cut. I eve discussed my hair products and what I use and no one pushed products from store on me. I first went to Debbie a couple of years ago to discuss extensions. After having my oldest daughter, I lost a ton of hair and it just never grew back. Getting extensions has been the best decision I have ever made. It has given me the confidence back that I lost and I don't know what I do without them. Since then, I continue to see Debbie for my cut and color. Debbie has also done my hair for my birthday, holidays, my rehearsal dinner and wedding.
