Just came here for my first visit and I'm in love with this place. Belinda was the lady who gave me my mani and pedi today and she was awesome. Very accommodating. Brought me orange infused water for me to sip while she was bathing my legs and feet in a peppermint soak. She also gave me a coconut scrub to slough off all the dead skin. It was wonderful. It left my skin feeling so smooth. She used the coconut scrub on my hands and arms too. This place is very hygenic and they use sterilized instruments as well as cleaning out the sinks thoroughly after use. I highly recommend coming here. I will be from now on. read more

I've had my share of facials- but, this was amazing. Not only relaxing but the results are fantastic. It's a quaint and charming shop, truly lovely. Will be coming back for more. When I first moved to the area I was still driving to Pasadena for a shellac manicure. Finally, I decided to check with CND to find a local salon. How thrilled I was to find Serendipity! Belinda gives excellent manicures & pedicures. The spray tan formulation here is the best I've ever had - it doesn't fade in a blotchy way, but naturally. The products offered have excellent natural formulations - think paraben free, and the salon is clean and fresh - very pleasant. Jen, the owner, created a luxurious cream that Belinda covers my hands with at the end of my manicure. I can't be without it - Jen. Treat hands & feet. My beautician loves it (gave it to her for Christmas)! "A refreshing blend of lemon peel, mango, and grapefruit aroma [mixed] with a hydrating blend of sweet almond, grape seed, and avocado oil." Everyone here is friendly and makes you feel welcome. The location is in old town LaVerne, which is a pleasant and peaceful area near the University of LaVerne. Because of coming to Serendipity I found Cafe Allegro next door where my husband and I enjoyed a delicious Valentine's dinner. The area is lit up night with white lights. I am a resident of La Verne and decided to try this local spot for an eyebrow wax. On the morning of my appointment, the spa called to ask if they could push my appointment back from 9:30 to 10:00am. I agreed, because it was not a huge deal, and I was still able to get to work on time. When I arrived, I waited for a few minutes until my esthicican called me back to the wax room. I can't remember her name, but she was very friendly and talkative with a warm personality. The waxing room and spa was quaint, cozy and very relaxing, with calming music playing in the back ground. When she was done waxing me, I was somewhat pleased. My eyebrows were not as defined as I would have preferred, but if I ever need a last minute wax, then I wouldnt mind coming here again. read more

I was looking for some pre-birthday self-care and heard of Serendipity from some friends and family. The storefront has a cute boutique feel to it. I chose a one-hour facial and Lexy was incredible!! She was on time and so warm when I went into the room, offering me water and asking about my day. I let her know I've only ever done 1-2 facials before and she walked me through the process, educating me on which products she was using and why. She has a lovely gentle touch and asked about pressure during the massage portion. I like a little more pressure on my neck and shoulders and she was super open to adjusting to my needs! This was a most uncomfortable pedicure. Clearly, we had interrupted the owner's Saturday afternoon. We booked a 2:15 pm appointment online and the application assigned the same technician for both pedicures. My appointment was then cancelled via email and we had to get that straightened out before we arrived at the salon. We were also asked to come in earlier, which was not possible. The first nail tech already had her purse out and kept talking about the event she needed to get to as soon as she was done. The second nail tech seemed out of practice and didn't know where anything was in the salon. As soon as one of us was finished, we were asked to pay so the first nail tech could leave. As soon as my nails were painted, the second nail tech announced I was done and made it clear it was time to leave. We were the only customers in the place. My suggestion is not to show available appointments if proper service cannot be provided. read more

Do not come here for gel manicures. I was given a gift certificate for this spa to get my nails done, which was so expensive. Less than a week after the ends of my nails dulled and it started to chip! By the end of the first week all my gel nail polish was off. So upset that so much money was spent on my nails. I came here originally because of an Amazon Local deal for a pedicure, and it's in my town. The only problem I encountered was getting an appointment same day. I made one appointment a day in advance (and for the Friday of Mother's day weekend). I had to cancel because of a sick kid, but had no issues cancelling even last minute. I rescheduled for the next week. Went for my pedicure and was pleased. The setting was a little different than most spas I've seen, with big square sinks for soaking feet, but they worked well, and the whole atmosphere was rather cute with a different look. My pedicure was great, and the nail tech didn't try to file the heck out of my nail to smooth it out to make the polish adhere easier (but ends up ruining my nails). I had no issues with my voucher. I came back about a month later with another voucher, and was able to make the appointment same day. Not as early as I would have like if I called farther in advance, but still same day. No problems with the voucher and the pedicure again was great. I also got my nails done this time, and they look great still. Again the manicurist took care of the nail, just didn't file the heck ouf of it. I have not yet had a facial here, but I would highly recommend their manicures and pedicures. It's a cute, clean place that does a great job maintaining your nails in good condition. read more

I had heard this place is darling so I deciding to treat myself to a bit of pampering. First off it was easy to find and super cute. I booked a appointment for a brazilian wax and gel mani. I had my wax first to get it out of the way. I'm super picky when it comes to services like this but I knew I was in the hands of a expert!! Dana has such a fun positive vibe and personality that she makes you forget what's really going on. Dana has the gift of gab and hospitality. Shes also extremely knowledgable with skincare and I plan to return for a facial. The wax itself get 5 stars. Very clean with no hair left behind. Received the best pedicure I've ever had!! The foot scrub these use is to die for its lemon lavender and smells amazing! The products they use are all the owners recipes and are quality. My daughter and I found this gem on the internet. I was looking for a place for us to have a mani and pedi as a celebration of her birthday. I was so happy after speaking with the receptionist that day; they bent over backwards to try and accommodate us with our limited availability. We had the most luxurious manicure and pedicure. Not only was the service excellent but the equipment is clean and sterile. This was a year ago and we have been customers since. All the girls in this shop care about the services they provide and the level of expertise is far above most salons. Since then I have had facials with Dana, waxing with Sylvia and mani and Pedi's with Belinda, Jeanette and Jen, the owner. They provide healthy nail care. They DON'T use drills to shave off nails and they DON'T soak your whole hand in acetate. :) Make sure to call for your appointment. The pedicure was great but again for the price I figured there would be more of a color selection. I wanted some bright neon colors to chose from and they didn't have any. I would like to start off by saying I admire Serendipity's use of organic & high quality products (including the Yon-ka skincare lines, it is one of my favorites.) Secondly, the staff was friendly and accommodating, however I left feeling less than satisfied. I took my grandma to Serendipity about a week ago, we love Chase's next door and thought it would be a cute nail place to try out. We made our reservations a week in advance for 2 forty minute pedicures for $40 each. The other option was a 20 minute pedicure for $20. I arrived before my grandma and the employee requested to start my pedicure early because she had an errand to run right after my appointment, I was fine with that. My grandma arrived shortly after and began her toes. My lady was done within 20 MINUTES, she had us close out our tab and apologized for the rush and left...if I knew this would've been the case, with out a doubt I would've chosen the 20 min pedicure. Now when the lady doing my grandmas toes finished, she stated that she too had to leave, giving my grandma NO time to let her toes dry. She did offer my grandma sandals to walk in, but due to bad knees, my grandma is unable to wear sandals. So my poor grandma is forced to leave the salon barefoot...she came to meet me for lunch down the street a few minutes later & had already messed up the paint on her big toe due to having no time to let them dry. Let me say this, I am more than happy with paying $80 if that price of quality & time management is met...but this experience was probably $40 worth. If you are going to book appointments in advance, make sure your employees have the time in their schedule to see out that entire time frame. Will not be returning. read more

I found it interesting to see a couple of bad reviews, as this shop is very clean, personalized and the pedicures are the best I have ever had (not only in how they look and feel, but also in how long they last). The poor reviews all involved clients who wanted to be seen without scheduling an appointment in advance...if you want that, go to a walk-in Asian nail salon...where what you get is fast, sloppy and rude. Horrible person Jeanette? Answered the phone, was rude right off the start when I told her I had Amazon Local voucher. asked for a late appointment 2 days from now for my daughter and myself, could not for two people, just one. Was told most clients book in advance, is this brain surgery? I was offered the 26th but it is the 17th? Really you're that busy? Or you don't do vouchers? Called Amazon, they have great customer service, refunded me my four vouchers and sent a complaint to their business dept. I wonder how this "new" companies owners will appreciate the care and service the new clients are receiving? I have many friends who love pedicures but not one of them or anyone who reads this should ever try this place, no serendipity was found here! read more
