Our server was super friendly, checked on us several times and regularly. The ribeye was seasoned with peppercorn and was excellent without the need for steak sauce. The burger has huge and quality was excellent as well. Great overall experience from start to finish!

Marinara sauce for the mozzarella sticks

I should have taken more pictures of the food but I did have this one from Snapchat and saved it because it was so ridiculous! We had a group of 7 and ordered a couple appetizers (mozzarella sticks and nachos) this is the marinara sauce for the mozzarella sticks! It looked like watery salsa! It was so watered down it was flavorless! Then our meals came out and the steaks were poor quality and tough! We ordered medium rare filet medallions and ribeye... both were like that! I've never had a filet so tough! The ranch dressing on the salad was the worst bottled ranch I've ever tasted! I do not recommend this restaurant at all! Very overpriced for poor quality food!

First time here and decided to try this place since every place around here close early.... It's a nice little place but decent sized dining room and a mini gift shop. I ordered the ribs and it was definitely really good and filling... It was enough to share since I got the full rack! The meat was so tender and it fell off the bone so easily which is my fave. I asked them to not put too much BBQ sauce and they did just that... It was enough BBQ sauce on it to where I didnt feel overwhelmed with the sauce but it did get me quite full after. My bf got the pork tenderloin with baked potato and notice when he tasted the pork that it was cooked on the same grill as fish which means they didn't clean the grill before cooking the pork.... Which means there was cross contamination involved! My mother got the apple pecan chicken salad and it was just enough to fill her up.

Stopped here on our way up to the sequoias. Coffee was horrible. It tasted like flavored water. When I asked for a cup of stronger coffee it was then tar. Order water to be on the safe side. I don't eat much so I got a side of bacon. That was good. But my BF ordered a his eggs well done and to be honest they looked like that fake egg stuff and he had to return them to get cooked more. I'd skip this place on our next trip. Sorry.

    Agave wine margaritas.

Agave wine margaritas aren't half bad. Probably sweeter than the traditional Tequila version, but good nonetheless. The dining choices in Three Rivers are not plentiful and you won't find any Michelin star restaurants here. Yelp reviews didn't help us much, they're all over the map so we just made a choice and landed here. The place got pretty busy once the sun was down. We arrived at twilight so we still had our choice of tables inside or out, it was a warm evening, we chose outdoors. Though the aroma of BBQ is evident when we arrived I noticed the menu has a Mexican influence. We couldn't make up our minds so we settled on apple walnut salads and the queso and chips. The salad wasn't memorable and likely wouldn't pass muster in coastal restaurants; the quality was lacking with tiny blue cheese crumbles and walnuts diced so small neither stood out in the salad. It's pricey at $9 for what I felt was a lunch size portion. The chips and queso were decent though the small size of the queso wasn't proportionate to the amount of chips; we left a bunch on the plate. Folks all around us had the BBQ, so I assume it was quite good, it certainly smelled heavenly. I get it, we're in a remote area. The cost to bring in food is likely not inexpensive. The setting and friendly service made up for what lacked in the food. We were full and grateful to be enjoying friend time so the overall experience was a-okay.

The skinny: mediocre food, pretty large menu Atmosphere: looks like your typical Americanized Mexican joint. Came here during the off season and were the only people here, that combined with the lack of music definitely made for an interesting vibe. The food: they have a pretty large menu, steaks, burgers, bbq, Mexican etc. But quality wise, the food is pretty mediocre. Nothing too terrible but nothing amazing - something to get you in as there aren't a ton of options in the area. The ribs were actually decent if you do decide to dine. Id pass on the cocktails and stick with the beer. The service: our waitress was very friendly but was not the most reliable. It took us a really long time to order because she kept on misunderstanding. Definitely make sure they read your order back to you at the end. Price/value: $$ portions are decent but some of the entrees are priced higher than you'd expect for the quality. Would I come back? There are limited options but I'd probably pass on coming back giving the quality of the meal.

Great friendly atmosphere. Clean and relaxing

Outstanding food in a relaxing environment. We've been visiting this place for years (i.e. before their renovation ~9 years ago). Excellent steak freshly grilled over an open fire. There are Other food options as well, But get some grilled steak and enjoy.

Some of the best fall off the bone ribs I have ever tasted. Sequoia nachos good. Service excellent. Stays open later than any other restaurant in town. No hard alcohol.

Overpriced and not worth it. Used to be an okay place for breakfast but since they raised their prices I do not recommend.

Very average, not fantastic, not terrible. Burger was okay, fries were bland. Lots of options to choose from which is good.

We came across Ol Buckaroo off a recommendation by our AirBnB Host. It was so good we came in TWICE for dinner on different days during our stay. I'll highlight both meals I had. But first, the service was great. Both times we came in the restaurant wasn't terribly busy (around 5 PM on weekdays) and we were seated right away. Keep in mind by 6ish/6:30 loads of customers were coming in. The restaurants is cute and small inside with maybe 10-12 tables, but a ton of outdoor seating with mist-fans. We decided to stay inside both times. Our servers who take care of us on both days were attentive and kind, getting us everything we needed quickly and constantly checking on us. Regarding the food: 1st night I ordered the "Pesto Pasta with chicken"--Spaghetti with a creamy basil pesto sauce. To drink I ordered their house-made soda--soda with Watermelon flavoring (yum). You get a large portion of delicious spaghetti (definitely your money's worth) soaked in pesto sauce. The chicken was tender and moist. It was a perfect, carb-filled meal following a long day of hiking. The soda was also tasty and fresh. I highly recommend this dish to anyone coming in with some big-time hunger. The 2nd visit I ordered the "Buckaroo Burger:"--a durham ranch beef patty, American Cheese, lettuce, tomato and Buckaroo sauce. I had a side of fries and to drink, the "Pims Cup:" Sparkling Water, lemon, cucumber, and fruit garnish. On the menu the drink is described as, "slightly sweet and refreshing with a hint of anise flavor," perfectly described and true. The burger was good (maybe not as good as the Pesto Pasta I had a couple nights before, but good). It was everything a good burger should be! Ol Buckaroo contributed to our amazing stay and vacation and we hope to come back one day. We'll definitely be recommending to any of our friends and family who ever plan to go to Sequoia or Kings Canyon National Parks. What a gem.

Sobif they can remove signs before closing that would be great. We had our fun in the sun and my boys and I stopped here to have something to eat. They offer free Wi-Fi. The restroom had giant mosquitoes and looked dirty. Customer service wasn't the best either. After ordering my food I didn't know because this was my first time here, but the chips that come with a meal will be located to your left, and if you order a drink you pick up your own cup on the left side of the soda machine. I say this to you because it wasn't told to me and after receiving my food I had to get up and grab it myself. The food was not good good but it wasn't horrible, with that being said I wouldn't recommend this place at all. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and asked for EASY CHEESE and got so much cheese. The chicken was like shredded and cooked in something because it wasn't just basic plain shredded chicken. The blt was ordered for my son who said the bread tasted gross and sandwich had no flavor. Now how the heck can anyone mess up a basic blt‍. I ordered basic hamburger. Lettuce and tomato were great, it had too much special sauce and the meat was just meat. Their potato salad is actually some of the best I've ever had but the macaroni salad now if you like food that you can chew with no flavor then I highly suggest ordering the mac salad lol. There's a first for everything and also a last and this location was definitely that for us. Why did we eat the food? Well we used a lot of energy and needed to refuel our body, plus I hate wasting money so I was not about to throw the food away.

But there was something we had not considered, we were going to be going to a place that required us to be fresh and ready to receive the wonder of place by a lack and we only had the energy for an angry stop at a gas station. So this place I visited when I was tired and that kind of gunked up the experience. If I would have gone with more energy to fully open my eyes than this experience would have been wondrous. When I booked the reservation I did it because it was a place by a lake. I enjoy water front dining and I usually use an ocean for scenery and today I was in a place where I could use a large creek. And since I was not going with any specific expectations that lake hit me like a bucket of wow. I remember like seeing the mouth of the lake going down like actual rocks. Like I was seeing the waters that people raft on with commitment to the outdoors. It felt like I had traveled into a place where trees were purest, bird melodies were the only noise in town (besides the water running in the creek), and cabins belonged to those who called the mountains home. I was in a novel and for some reason I felt like it was written by Twain. And that is really what I can say about this place. That is mostly what I remember the beauty of the creek. I wanted to spend more time there, I could have walked it, they had like a lounge but I did not. But I do remember the forested view that went on, and the roaring, jagged leg being a central character other than that I have small things to say. I remember the salad being ok. Denise and I shared a dish, I can't remember why but we did not eat the whole thing. It was inherently bad. But this could have been an off night, or just not the dish of the place, and really you go here for the lake, and the food was great in some ways just not in this specific way. I went to this place a few weeks ago, and, if I had not make it clear I remember the experience of being with the lake. So go here for that experience and let the rest just fall into place.
