Absolutely worth the drive and to make it out to this hidden gem. I ordered the Mushroom Burger, which was incredibly juicy with savory flavors. Each bite was layered with richness, and the melted cheese brought everything together. Chef's kiss. My husband went with the classic Bacon Cheeseburger, which had balance of smoky, crispy bacon and well-seasoned, tender beef. The fries were golden, crisp, and dusted with just the right amount of peppery seasoning to give them a little kick without overpowering. It's clear that John, the owner, takes pride in every plate he serves. We'll absolutely be making this a repeat stop the next time we head to Sequoia National Park. read more

I've been up here a few times and it's well worth the hour drive from Dinuba! Had the mushroom burger a few times but today I went for the fish and chips and boy, it did not disappoint! The Baker Mountain House is amazing. We don't get to drive out that way to much but we will be now! My honey and I split our dinner and still couldn't eat all of it! we chose the 8 oz ribeye sandwich with there in house homemade ciabatta bread and 16 oz ribeye with portobello mushrooms mashed potatoes and veggies! Now, I have had some steak sandwiches that are a little tuff or you need to pull a little hard to rip the meat or there is to much bread over powering the steak. Not this one not a single bite! And they are big! Honestly we could have split the sandwich and been good but the steak plate.... So beautiful, everything was cooked to perfection and seasoned PERFECTLY! You could cut this steak with a fork! I have a video showing how easy it was to rip a peace of the center of the steak It's a straight shot up hwy 245 for a nice beautiful drive! The last 2 times we went more around lunch. Their burgers scream quality AND quantity. Next time I get one I'll have to get a picture but it's going to be hard to walk away from the steak sandwich! Came here a few weeks ago. Was in the area for family pictures and had been a while since I'd been to this place. Have to say I was a little concerned with bringing my wife and small boys here. In the past you never knew what kind of crowd might be there on a Saturday evening. After meeting the new owner and seeing how he cleaned the place up it was a very nice experience and family atmosphere. We just had burgers but they were great. Looking forward to going back for a steak dinner. Owner was a very nice guy. If you have time to go up, it's a nice drive and beautiful view off the back deck. Great drinks as well. read more

Sweet little mountain bar and grill. Not a huge menu but it's honest food! Obviously it's a local favorite but we were welcomed, just the same. We shared a BIG burger and the fries were the best I've had in a while. Fries were perfectly cooked, crispy outside, yummy inside. The Bloody Mary was spicy and delicious. They don't seem to like tourists. Told me right away that they had a limited menu and I could only get pizza. That was fine, since the pizza was recommended to me by my VRBO host. But then they added that it would take a really long time (which it didn't) in order to encourage me to leave. I asked for water, and they charged me for bottled water. Sat on the deck, and the server commented that it was cold, but also refused to turn on the heating lamp (which was right next to me). Brought out the medium sized pizza on a small plate (I ordered a large to share with my girlfriend), and seemed annoyed when we asked for a second plate for us to actually share the pizza. I feel like a restaurant with a 5-star review during COVID should tell you something, so here goes! We were in town visiting Kings Canyon NP and had been searching high and low for anywhere to eat. This area is devoid of options, but we were pleasantly surprised to find this little gem. Their menu was limited largely to burgers and a few other items (chicken tender basket, a BLT, some appetizers, and cobbler of the day), but they had a nice little selection of cold, bottled beer. Their breakfast menu looked great and we wish we could come back to try it (not available because of you-know-what). We were seated outside on the really spacious (recently built by the lovely owner) deck. I asked for some of the burger suggestions and was recommended the the Mushroom Burger - right on. It's a half pounder (2 patties) with grilled onions and portobello mushrooms, topped with super melty Swiss cheese. I have had many a burger in my life but this was the best mushroom burger I have ever bad. Super fresh, great char on the patties, and all around great flavor from the portobellos. The fries were piping hot and fresh. I wish I had taken a picture but my mouth wouldn't let me get there. So, please do yourself a favor and stop in here even if it's a little out of the way. The owner has made some wonderful changes since he took over less than a year ago, and I see this place making a real name for itself in the future. Don't let COVID stop you from enjoying some of life's pleasures - beer and burgers. Highly recommend!!! read more
