Sephora is clever. They keep everything I buy listed on the computer. From the moment I walk in I feel I have a personal shopper with me. A lot of times I do. Staff are so wonderful at meeting me and asking if they can assist. I feel more comfortable these days just asking where things are to get in and out. She helped me with four different things, answered all my questions, made me a sample and gave me real honest advice (even recommending products that aren't at Sephora). Sephora has a wide selection of products which is great. Employees on the floor are very friendly and willing to help you find what you need. However when it comes to checkout, employees aren't very friendly and barely greet you. The wait is often long. Today I waited about 10 minutes while a customer and cashier went back and forth checking out and discussing products. I was the only person waiting. I don't understand how you can have a store that has about 5-6 employees working at once and only one at the register and that one takes a long time. I have had much better experiences at the Sephora in Kohl's at Landstown. That will be my go to store going forward. read more

GO TO ULTA INSTEAD!!!!! ULTA is amazing! Sephora is terrible. I purchased online and my package was lost in transit. Of course half of the items in my purchase had been sold out (during a sale) so instead of refunding me my $80 back to my debit card, *they gave me store credit!* WTF. It took 4 calls to customer service, where they assured me the $80 would be transferred to my debit card- IT NEVER WAS. Then I found out the credit is only available to for use ONLINE ONLY, not in the store! This was after I drove there to spend the $80 I was stuck with!!!!!! I normally go to the Sephora in Mc Carter mall. I am a Sephora Rouge member so let's just say I come here often . Sephora has great perks. If they are not too busy you can get a free singular service. Foundation matching and application, brow service, or eye service. Yesterday I walked into the Lynnhaven location and low an behold I was feeling wild and decided to get a eye shadow service. I wanted to purchase a new eye shadow palate that had a bolder selection of color. The rep that I worked with is Cary... she was AWESOME!!! She gave a Sunset eye shadow look that totally blew me away. As she applied the make up she gave me tips and technique on how to replicate the look at home. To dramatize the look she convinced me to try these flared lashes. Very different but it defiantly dramatized the look. All in all I was very pleased with my experience. Great place to come if you need make up done on the fly but you can book in advance if you want to do your full face. What they call a makeover. It is free with a product purchase of $50. Technically your investing into a product that you probably needed anyway and you walk out looking like you just came off the run way. Lol The price of a professional MUA ( make up artist). Purchased a product and was recommended an item over in the Fenty Skin section. Took an item off the shelf, without any sort of force, one of the section's large, heavy, metal signs fell directly on top of my head. The team member who kindly helped me out during my visit, Bug, quickly came over to see if I was ok. Clearly I was hysterical, trying to compose myself in the store, she called for a GM twice before someone came over and just asked me if this was the metal sign, now on the floor, that hit my head. This person never introduced themselves or their position and at this point I was upset, hurt, embarrassed and just trying to keep it together. After answering yes and then no response, I stated that I guess I would leave. No one responded or attempted to remedy the situation any further after. My s/o ended up calling the store to speak with a higher up manager named Thursday. He shared that it was MY fault for not sticking around even longer for someone to tell me what was next (after I had been addressed by two Team Members.) Apparently an incident report was "filed" without my statement or contact info. Crazy to know that when a huge metal sign falls on your head in this businesses' establishment, you are responsible for hanging out to figure out whats next. Your employees should have shared and asked more than if I was okay or needed a hug. I've been here many times. I've been coming here for years. I've been helped, assisted and advised on several occasions. Sephora is my JAM! This day I was dropping in for five minutes max to take advantage of a promotion. The promotion was unfortunately no longer running. So I decided to just browse around. I haven't really been lackadaisically wandering around establishments in pandemic times, I've been moving with purpose. There were a few sections that looked different in the store. I took a few pictures of products that looked pretty or that I wanted to investigate in the future. The staff have always been very helpful in helping me weigh the pros and cons of products when deciding on primers, foundations and other products. On this particular visit I was fortunate enough to be graced by the wisdom of an excellent Sephora cast member, a woman named Nolan. I was standing in front of a newly erected display when she offered to tell me about the products. I invited her to share whatever knowledge she possessed. She told me all about the very affordably priced INKEYLIST brand, describing how each ingredient provided a different benefit - calming, exfoliating, moisture infusing, renewing etc.. Now I'm looking forward to trying these products in the future. I saw a beautiful giant jar of collagen and she explained the great benefits of plant-based collagen hydrating you from the inside out. Then she told me about how Sephora has teamed up with Olly gummy vitamins for their own product line of $15 vitamins, I believe there were 5 options. I personally have not purchased or used any consumables from Sephora but I really enjoyed learning about the offerings. I certainly have more to think about when considering how beauty begins on the inside. Nolan was bubbly, excited, very knowledgable about the products and she was able to answer all of my questions. She was open and shared her personal experiences with the products and the positive results she enjoyed after introducing them into her regimen. I can't believe I haven't written a review of Sephora on Yelp yet...I believe I need to remedy that.... Living about 2 miles from Lynnhaven mall I often come over on weekends just to browse and window shop. Sephora has been one of my favorite haunts since it was added to the mall a few years ago. I am a fan of their points program where you can accrue points for every purchase and when you get to 100 you get a small free sample or 500 where you get a deluxe one, on top of getting a birthday gift every year. Last year I got this fabulous 2-pack of lip gloss that I still use and love. Plus - this rewards program is free so there is really nothing to think about! This place has everything - major name brands in makeup and skin care (smash box, clinque, too faced, bare minerals, etc. etc.) there are tons of things I've never even heard of in here... plus they have hair products, acne stuff, and loads of perfume. They will make you a small little sample of perfume to take with you that is enough to last for several days/weeks so you can try it before you buy and make sure you really like it. I think this is neat - it has helped me make the choice between 2 or 3 bottles I was on the fence about before. They'll make a sample of nearly anything for you to take home and try for a while if you ask. The gals at the front also will do your makeup application for you - showing you cool ways to do makeup or the new trends, or just using cool new products on you. All free of course. I'm a big fan right now of the Sephora brand eye shadow - they have a ton of nice neutral colors that I'm using daily. At Christmas they have tons of really cute gift sets and options... and they will also send you a $15 off or so card to use on a purchase of $40 or so around the holidays too. I love being able to come in here and sample all the colors, put them on my face, trying out everything before I actually buy it so I know if I like it already or not. And, if worse comes to worse and I can't decide, they will make me a sample to go home and really make sure. I'm not a routine shopper at this particular location, however I shop at others. My experience here today was horrible. Upon entering the store. Natalia advised me that it's a face mask only establishment. I advised her that I have a medical issue. She aggressively told me that if I touch anything I buy it, I can't smell any fragrances nor could I sample anything. That is ridiculous!! I understand you have to be more cautious, however it was totally rude and ridiculous for her to loudly tell the other clerk that I have a medical issue as to why I didn't have a mask on. Natalia needs to set the tone properly if she's going to be a greeter. She needs to understand how to approach customers with sensitivity and not try to make a statement. I recommend that you properly train her to understand diversity and proper communication. I will not be returning to this store!! Poor customer service! read more

Let me first start off by saying that I am in no way shape or form a make up junkie. I have a small collection of items and I do well with applying them but I'm not the one you call when you need your face beat lol I came in to use a gift card that I got for my birthday and I had somewhat of an idea of what I wanted. I knew I wanted something Fenty and at first I was going to get the diamond milk gloss bomb. I heard really good things about the Fenty foundation. As I was looking, Bree asked me if I needed help. She read my mind because I definitely needed help finding my shade! She spent a good amount of time with me and even helped me find a concealer. When we finished, Bree emailed me the products that we looked at today as one of them was no longer in stock. The store was neat and clean and very easy to navigate even for a beginner like me. I love how friendly Bree was and she didn't make me feel weird for not being a makeup expert. I love that they offer and hold two 2-hr long classes a month on different things. Best part?! THEY'RE FREE!!!! You can sign up online, just visit their website! For the month of March, they offered a Correct & Conceal class, which taught us how to color correct our skin tones and to conceal all those nasty, unsightly blemishes and scars. I learned SO MUCH in this class. The other class was Brow Shaping, which I invited all my girlfriends to attend with me. It was so much fun and this time, a bit challenging. Brows are no joke! Yasminda facilitated both classes and she is just WONDERFUL! Makeup on point and a personality to die for. "If you like it, I love it!," she says. Love that!!!! I don't see how one could not be a makeup fiend, junkie, addict, or hoarder while being in this store! You just find all kinds of things from skin care, hair care, and of course, the makeup! Perfumes, colognes, lotions, creams, and polishes galore. The girls are pretty helpful although I've been warned that some of them aren't so helpful, in fact the term used to describe them was "shady." Don't know specific names but the ones I've come across are pretty nice and super helpful. You can get very overwhelmed shopping in here as there are LOTS to see, touch, feel, and smell, but that's what samples are for! I've been working out of town for the past nine years, so getting a hair cut is squeezed into slow days, or spur of the moment if you have a chance . Stopped by and saw the " walk in's welcome sign and decided to give this place a shot. I have had my share of duds, but I'm happy to report that I received one of the best cuts in a long time! You can tell straight away that the staff is professional and really take pride in their job. Very friendly and courteous-staff, clean and relaxing atmosphere, and good background music to boot. I just love Sephora. I joked with my boss that I should really just have a part of my paycheck sent straight to them. They have great point program which allows you to build points to get new gifts; perfume, body wash, iPhone cases, a little bit of everything. Definitely makes me more likely to get my products at Sephora instead of another place. I feel so pampered when I go here. The staff is fantastic! Nick is my go to guy for hair advice. Everyone is also really helpful with makeup tips too. I am a BareMinerals girl, and I don't really explore other brands. However if I start to explore, Sephora will be my first stop! I go here for all my Bumble and Bumble products. They gave me a few samples when I came in after my last haircut and I have been hooked ever since! Another reviewer mentioned their Christmas sets! I'm starting to find myself here every time I make a trip to the mall. I have to have at least an hour or two of free time to test out products/shades/colors and talk to the employees. For those who are getting into make up or want to spruce up your makeup routine they offer custom makeovers if you spend over $50. Rule of thumb: if you're planning on buying something here please know what your skin type/tone is. This is the #1 thing they'll ask you. It helps the employees narrow down what works best for you. Anyway, I really been loving Urban Decays products. Literally everything I've tried is amazing from their 24/7 pencil liners, to lip liners, concealers, eyeshadows, all nighter setting spray, and eye primer. My next brand would be Anastasia's brow products, the Brow Wiz and Contour Palette is a must have. I have Dark Brown hair and Fair skin with neutral pink undertones. Kate Von D's tattoo eyeliner and Shade + Light Eye palette has luxurious well thought out shades perfect for everyone and its matte. My favorite liquid eyeliner is Stila's Stay All Day liquid eyeliner. If your looking for retractable pencil liners, Smashbox Always Sharp Waterproof has one of the best really great for those who are combination/oily and stays on all day. I'm matched with 3Y05 on Color IQ. Dior - 10 Estée Lauder - Ivory Nude 1N1 Mac - NW10 I'm usually Fair/Light One of my new go-to skincare lines is Belif, a Korean brand they carry and great if you have sensitive skin. It's mid-price range but you get you money's worth with the amount they give you and the product will last you 4-6 months (if used twice a day). I two favorites from the line is the Hungarian Water Essence (apply after toner) & True Cream Aqua Bomb will make your skin feel like silk when you wake up. Prior to that, I was using First Aid Beauty when I tried out the set they had during Christmas. The cream was good at first for several months but eventually my skin had gotten used to it. Josie Maran is another great brand, known for their Argan cleansing oil (thick and warms up once emulsified into skin) and whipped body butters (I currently use the travel size of Sweet Citrus). I used their Nirvana Hydrating Mist during the summer, and it was my lifesaver! I spray it on after I get out the shower, on my brushes, to set my makeup, whenever. It helped my combination/oily skin. My only wish is they make a travel size. Their 3.2 oz lasted me about 8 months with everyday use. Oh yeah and Sephora just launched their On The Flight pouches for traveling and meets TSA standards. You can stuff it with your fave travel sized goodies. Stop by here even if you can't afford/want to play around with the stuff. It's fun getting to share your love for beauty with others. Sephora is a cosmetic superstore. There are so many types of make ups and fragrances here it makes me dizzy with delight. And it's perfect for make up virgins like me--they have actual experts on staff and do make-overs on sight in a jiffy so you can leave the mall looking fly in no time. The main reason that I come to Sephora, though, is that they are one of the few retailers that carry Carols Daughter's products. I'm newer to Sephora culture.... My first purchase was in October of last year. I was ECSTATIC with the amount of options there. However, after repeat patronage there, I have seen a steady decline in the place. After having experienced the return process there, I am disappointed. I decided to take a peak and see what they had on stock two evenings ago. The store was TRASHED. Make up trial lip glosses rolling around on the floor, tissue boxes for removal of make-up samples empty at three of the stations, but I thought, Maybe they are busy- Just let it go. Looked around, no line, told a young lady about the tissue, handed her the glosses since I had no idea where they belonged, and didn't want anyone to slip on them. She said "I'll get someone right on that!" Then continued doing what she was doing. Regardless, I purchased a palette (Smoky Eyes 2) and took it home. I learned a valuable lesson to open my product in the store in the future and check it. Six eye shadows on the top were crushed and 3 or 4 on the bottom. Stupidly, I threw my receipt away. However, I called and asked if there was anything we could do, and the lady who answered the phone apologized, and said of course we could do an exchange. I explained I would come down on my lunch break for the exchange the next day. She told me that would be fine. Forward to the next day, I run down on my lunch. Wait 15 minutes in line, and have the luck of getting helped by the same lady who spoke to me on the phone. She takes the palette, and stands there looking at me. I tell her what's going on with it, and volunteer to go grab a replacement since I know where they are. She says "Ok." So I go grab it, I return, and she's waiting on someone else. In the less than 30 seconds it took me to grab it. She takes 5 minutes with them, then returns to me. We open the palette, and check it. It's perfect, so I say " Awesome. So I am good to go!" She tells me she needs my ID. I left my purse at work. Had she told me the night before on the phone that I would need it, I would have brought it with me!!!! I am frustrated. I say "Fine" I run back to my store on the other side of the mall, and return with it. Wait in line AGAIN. She says" Well, I would have thought you would have brought your purse with you!" I'm trying to stay calm, so I just hand her my ID, sign the paper work, and leave. The whole process of a SIMPLE exchange took 40 minutes from start to finish. Which is absurd, even when your not on a 30 minute lunch break. I'll be limiting my trips in to this store now. Also, I'll be checking my products before I leave. This Sephora needs an improvement on their costumer service. Went in the other day to buy some makeup skincare ect. To start I am a frequent shopper at Sephora and believe me I spend a lot so when I walk in there was no greeting. Ok then I want to try the Glam Glow exfoliating lip scrub however, when I ask for assistance she seemed less than enthusiastic about it. Asked for a sample she gave me one and left (didn't even give me the right sample btw). Then I needed help in finding my color in the Tarte rainforest foundation had to walk over and wait for two workers to finish their conversation to ask for help. I'm very disappointed in the service there so after all that I walked out and did not buy a thing. I recommend going to MacArthur Malls Sephora, they are always friendly and having fun! I am always greeted, asked what I'm looking for and their staff is so wonderful and helpful! read more

First, let me preface this review by making it clear that I've been shopping at Sephora since it first opened in New York nearly two decades ago and I was always very happy with the products offered and the knowledgeable staff. I've noticed a steady decline as Sephora expanded into different markets but my last visit to Sephora at the Lynnhaven Mall was the last straw. I recently returned several skin care products that did not work out. All items were listed on my Beauty Insider account, confirmed by the sales associate who processed my return. However, in spite of having the sales record in front of her, she asked for my license and processed the return as a return without a receipt. I did not think anything of this at the time - I assumed she was following proper protocol for their newly implemented policy that I was still unfamiliar with. After all, she works there - I don't - surely she must know better. Then this week I tried to return a product I received as a gift at Christmas and actually did not have the receipt for. This return was declined because of the previous returns the sales associate processed incorrectly. I am now locked out of returns for 365 days as a direct result of improper training of the sales associate who processed my initial beauty insider returns. I can't return unwanted Christmas and Birthday gifts without having to ask the buyer(s) for their receipts, which is undeniably uncouth, but I have no choice apparently - thank you Lynnhaven Sephora for creating an entirely avoidable problem. Hoping there was another solution, since it was clearly employee error (an honest mistake on the part of an improperly trained employee) I brought my concern to the manager who refused to take any responsibility and even had the audacity to treat me with disdain and contempt, as if I was making the whole thing up. Nevermind the fact that another employee (presumably the assistant manager) had just had to teach the sales associate how to properly process a beauty insider return right in front of me as a result of my initial complaint that I was unable to return an item that they had proof I purchased. When I pointed this out I was rebuffed incredulously as if it wasn't possible. How is it not possible if it literally just happened while I was standing there, mere seconds before asking for her assistance?? As if that was not bad enough, the manager refused to cooperate when I relented and simply asked for a printout of my returns so that I could provide them to corporate to have improperly processed returns identified and corrected since the store clearly had no intention of doing so themselves. I do not think this is a lot to ask, in fact I do not feel I could have asked for less unless I was willing to completely blindly absolve them of their error. In short: customer service at this location leaves a lot to be desired and employees need better training. I do not fault Sephora's new policy, but I do think corporate is remiss in not having better oversight of what goes on in their stores. This is an LVMH owned company after all! I will be sending a copy of this review to corporate along with all supporting documents. And despite the convenience of this location, after the error has been corrected and I complete my gift returns, I will no longer be shopping here. read more

I went to the sephora in jc penney at greenbrier mall its small sephora store they but dont carry laura mercier brand so I saw in Lynnhaven that they have sephora in there. I went to this store its pretty nice, clean,organize. But, the ladies working there are snobbish. It looks like they didnt see you. The two persons are busy arranging some things, the other one is always coming back and forth to the entrance and to the back door (its weird I dont know why). The other one on the counter I dont know she looks like hiding and there is only one who entertains customer but she is busy talking to the other customer. So I end up waiting for so long and despite my husband waiting for me outside. When the lady is done I go to her and told her what I'm looking for I just need my foundation shade for that brand I already like it and I'm ready to pay for that just my foundation shade that I need help. Girl at the front desk seemed irritated that I needed help. No other associate was available at the time so I patiently waited for her while she finished a transaction with a customer. She looked right at me, then when she was done she immediately turned her back and started making conversation with another employee. When the other employee noticed I needed help, she asked the girl to help me, she seemed a bit annoyed. And had absolutely no interest in helping me find what I was looking for, she didn't even leave the register when talking to me. If you love makeup, perfume, face and body products, this is the place for you. Not only is there quite a variety of products but everything is of great quality. The store is big, clean, and full of very helpful salespeople. They ensure you are greeted but do not hover. Recently I finally agreed to having them show me how products would look in-store. I am not a fan of getting in the makeup chair, fearing it will lead to them pushing more product. I am glad I did get in that chair. 1. I could see how things looked, 2. Sephora definitely met my needs ~ I was looking for a specific deodorant LAVANILA that someone recommended plus I had some walk-in 'kicks' to claim via Shopkick. I found the deodorant with the help of your lovely & very nice expert who knew exactly where to go to find this product (there were only two). I am sick and damn tired of coming into this place and the little chubby Hawaiian/Asian mixed girl treating me like I'm a thief! Every single damn time! And ya know what's funny is every single time I come in here I spend hundreds of dollars on Shit! I usually always have my children with me in either a stroller or a wagon. And she always manages to find me and look into my stroller or wagon and ask if I need assistance or if I want her to hold any of the products that I am going to purchase or if I need a basket. If I want a fucking basket I'll get one, I'm not an idiot who doesn't know how to pick up a damn basket and if I need assistance I'll ask for it! I don't need somebody to follow me around the store making sure I'm not using my children to smuggle out stolen goods! Bastards. I have been a major fan of Sephora since it came to Lynnhaven Mall. I wish I could have gone to the Norfolk location because a lot of the employees said that that location was even cooler! I love going in there and trying different products. The sales people there are really knowledgeable and can recommend several products to you. I also love getting dolled up there when they demo a product or a look on you. I would highly recommend them over Ulta. The weekends are a little crazy here and they don't seem to have as much one on one help available. I would recommend the week days (morning or afternoons). read more
