Located in the Short Hills Mall near the Macy's, this makeup and perfume store had a little bit of everything, it seemed, but not everything (no Chanel makeup, just perfume, as an example). Everywhere there were samples, sponges, q-tips and paper so you could try out and smell and taste(?) everything - it made for a bit of mess and a lot of the samples were almost all used up (plus really, sharing makeup with strangers seems.. odd). Sephora branded items are cheaper and probably just as effective as lal the name brand items. Still amazing on how much a little tube of eye cream or lipstick can cost. Yet, still super full, and unsurprisingly, not too many people looking to help me out (I probably stick out like a sore thumb as I was just buying a gift, I clearly don't use makeup). The staffers only paused chatting amongst themselves when I found them upfront sorting through some of the boxes of makeup people had thrown around.

I really like this Sephora location it is very clean and they have really good Covid 19 protocols implemented. The employee that work at this location were very nice and they were very knowledgeable about the products. I went because they are the only store that carries sulwhasoo products in store and they were very nice at giving me samples and providing feedback on the products I was curious about. I purchased two skincare products and I have been using them for 1 months and I love them. I am decimated my coming back to this place

    Pretty and well organize store

The sales associate just tried to throw out my gift card due to its low balance. Money is money, I was shocked!

The cashiers are extremely rude and the staff treat you like you're going to steal something from them.

Firstly, walking in - my olfactory sense was attacked by a sewer-like smell. It was hard to manage and I asked the staff if they smelled the same - which they denied smelling such. Meanwhile, my friend was experiencing the same as I was. The staff barely moved an inch and showed zero energy upon our entering the store. Not one other single customer was in the store. I was immediately disappointed and even had to ask for help. Truly ZERO offer to assist!!!! I asked the one young lady (looking quite unkempt) to help select a great day face cream with SPF and an overnight facial moisturizer. She recommended a very random brand without understanding my specific needs. When I asked questions she googled for answers. Yikes!!! You don't even know the products or what you're dealing with. So clearly there is no proper training to guide or sell to a savvy customer ready to spend significant money. Needless to say, I purchased a familiar brand and it will be the last few hundred dollars they'll ever see from me. Their service is a complete failure, the store smelled worse than a public restroom in the hot summer, and zero knowledge demonstrated by the staff. Please provide these folks with proper training and how to present themselves appropriately. If they don't have an interest in the beauty and skincare business- please go work somewhere else where you can find passion and energy.

I had the one guy working there follow me around. He didn't bother asking me if I needed help. Just hovered around the area. Didn't realise he was following me. I came to do an exchange. He, Issac, couldn't scan my receipt. So instead of figuring things out, he accuses me of not even buying that pillow because he cannot scan the receipt. He argues with me. And he wouldn't give me my phone back. He made me beg him to give me back my phone. I had to beg him and say please just to give me my phone back. He then goes and calls the manager. I show them my receipt on my phone. Issac is still hogging my phone. Manager has to say, "Issac give her back her phone." He kept holding on to it. He finally gives it back. Manager is smoothing over the situation, explaining that if I have to exchange the pillow maybe this pillow isn't for me. Down pillows have a smell. Instead of using my time and picking the same pillow, pick a different pillow. Manager goes, "Issac process her return." Mind you, this man doesn't argue with his manager. He treated me with such disregard and disrespect. Thank god for the manager. Thank god for the ladies working downstairs at Coach for making me feel heard and listened to. The guy working at home department did not apologize to me for his mistake.

Besides the GORGEOUS dress I walked out with, the rest of the experience was kind of frustrating. I had to search and search and SEARCH for a fitting room, all with 3 big heavy dresses in my hands. After a bit of a hunt, I finally found a very sweet associate who unlocked a room for me, hunted down different sizes and offered suggestions. I was so happy to have found someone kind and helpful after the whole ordeal. I did find a beautiful dress, and I do have to say I loved that the rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The best thing about this dispensary is its convenience and their staff (security?) that greets you upon entering the front door. Aside from that, I'd say be very very cautious. They like to hurry you along, no courtesy or respect if you'd prefer to browse or ask questions, and even worse, they do NOT inform you about otherwise "hidden" fees after purchasing products. They don't share anything in advance. You either know already or you'll find out after the fact. Horrible! I'd recommend you use cash only. It's the safest bet! Otherwise, be aware that they do not accept credit cards, only debit. And keep in mind that for using your debit card there will be an additional $3.50 surcharge (and possible a fee from your bank, depending on who you bank with). The Apothecarium's system will process your transaction as an 'unauthorized' atm purchase/withdrawal. There are other dispensaries all around if you're into it, so this is not the only space. If you do go here, proceed with caution and at your own risk. Twice within the past few years was enough for me! That second chance was the last. Tiny parking lot with minimal spaces on the side of the building. It's easy to miss so look closely or you'll bypass it.
