I've been to this location plenty of times without much bother. I would come prepared with screenshots of products and reviews from their online site that I wanted to purchase, so I'd be in and out of the store pretty quickly.
Love that their store is big with plenty of options, especially skincare products (extra star) but can't say I feel the same about their customer service.
...Well just this one cashier girl in particular today.
My friend and I were standing in line, just checking out the travel sized and mini products they had displayed along the line. I was at the front, waiting for the next available cashier as I browsed. I guess the cashier girl was available but she never said "next in line" or "can I help you?" I just happened to look up and there she was just staring at me, straight faced. I looked back thinking.. -you annoyed girl? Lol.
Ok..so I walk up and told her I had a return. No, "ok, sure." Just silence as I took out my two products and my receipt. She took the products and looked at me, "did you use these?" I said, "no." She said, "well I'm going to do a product check." Never encountered this but maybe other Sephora employees never stated/made it super obvious that they were going to check it..as though I was lying and that I definitely used the products. Ok sure, I didn't even take them out of their packaging, so do what you gotta do cashier girl.
Cashier girl was struggling. I felt like smirking because she was having a realllllly hard time taking the face wash out of its own packaging (since it's never been opened.) She rips the box, basically destroys the packaging just to look at the tube and ends up having to tape the end back together. I'm thinking ~wow, really..I brought it back untouched and you just end up tearing it apart to check if I messed with it..~ She then goes on to check the second item, very thoroughly, pressed on the pump to make sure I never pumped anything out of it before.
It really doesn't bother me that there's a "product check" because I totally understand that they have to make sure that clients are not using/taking the product...but she just made the whole process feel uncomfortable. She gave off a very judgmental vibe.
After my two returns were "approved" by the cashier girl, she said I would get $201.02 back onto the credit card. When I inserted my card into the chip reader end, the card reader said, "$113.62 OK?" I brought that amount to her attention and she gave me some serious dead eyes. I said, "didn't you say $201.02? Well it says $113.62 on here." She then gave me some sorry a** response, "Well sometimes it doesn't show you the full amount of your return." What? That doesn't make sense. I freakin' didn't want to press "OK" and end up getting shorted.
We went back and forth a bit until the reader said "transaction cancelled" because I never pressed anything. She then said, "Your card was declined, do you have another one." Are you kidding me?? It was cancelled because I didn't agree to the amount you fool. Sheesh. So she had to retry and the reader finally said "$201.02 OK?" I happily pressed "OK" to this. Hahaha. When my receipt printed, she lovingly circled the return amount of "$201.02" (more like SEE B*TCH) but I'm just thinking, you're really a fool. You didn't understand that the amount was incorrect from the beginning.. And of course now it said $201.02 because you had to retry and I agreed to that amount!
I left feeling annoyed and asked my friend if he saw the amounts on the reader and he said yeah. He agreed that she was being a beezy and gave me unnecessary attitude with judgmental vibes.
Cashier girl, you need a lesson in proper customer service and you should get retrained on the register. It's the holidays, don't be so grouchy and judgmental of people. Should I judge you for working at Sephora?
P.S..
I came on 11/30/17 and my transaction was at 1:52pm on register 4. Didn't see or notice a name tag, so I don't know how else to put her on blast. Lol. Maybe the Sephora customer service team can see this and contact her manager so they can give her a talking to.
..Jk..
No, not really.
