The staff here is completely friendly and easy to talk to! I was greeted the moment I walked in and was immediately tended to. I had many questions about foundation and I was paired up immediately with a worker, who was just as kind! She was patient, listened to my inquiries and graciously provided a decent answer. She found the foundation deemed perfect for my skin type and tone. She even went through with highlighting and contouring my features -- it was incredible! So I decided to purchase the foundation and primer she displayed for me. Though, this was where I took off two stars. At the cashier, the man running it was impatient and was quite... condescending. Moving on, I used the wrong card and asked if I could come back in a few moments to get my mother. He said, "I'll just cancel this and call someone to place it back. Thank you for coming." I replied, a smile etching on my face with, "No, I'll be back. Should I join the line again or come straight to you?" His forced smile withered into a frown and said, "You know what, just come to me. I'll be ready." And so after I got my mother we came back. Please note, the contents in the box were still inside when I was /first/ at the cashier. We went through the entire process and he bagged everything in front of us and I felt like he rushed us out the door -- I wondered why. Though, I found out why after I checked the bag once I arrived home. One of the boxes was EMPTY. My primer was not in the box, and it was when I first approached the cashier. Funny, when we came back the second time it was out of the box. I guess this was partly on me, for I did not check if my contents was inside their boxes -- which is what is supposed to happen, why would someone doubt it? Hi. I visited at around 6 ish yesterday. The line was really well organized. Josh was efficient and bubbly. Two guys approached and I told them to keep their distance and started insulting me. Left the line and explained to Josh that I did not feel safe. They looked scary. I was upset and scared. So he took care of me and a girl in the store, too. They talked to their manager because I did not want to leave alone. Josh took me to my car a block away. I was so grateful and impressed. Thank you!!!! First time to this location - passed by after doing lashes nearby. It is a small store, but the staffs are not overly busy and are very helpful. I couldn't decide between the SK2 mask and essence, both priced at $99, and one of the staff(think she could be happa?) made it easy for me by recommending the essence but giving me one piece of mask to try out. Great service and friendly staff make shopping here a pleasure. Made a mini perk facial appointment two weeks ago and was it cancelled on because of a staffing issue....no worries, things happen. Rescheduled for today and was told staff person had BART trouble (BART sucks!). So I waited for a while. The manager, Drake, acknowledged and apologized for the delay today and provided me with some complementary samples and was super sincere and sweet. Each time I shop here staff have been attentive and seem mostly happy to be at work. They carry products that other Sephora's don't and have some events for VIBs that other stores don't. Parking can be difficult but not impossible. Neighborhood has lots of stores and restaurants to peruse. Overall a great store to indulge read more

SEPHORA = A GROWN WOMAN'S CANDY STORE (Except the candy's replaced with cosmetics & fragrances) I haven't been to the one on Powell in so long. I usually go to the one at Valley Fair, but since I was in the city visiting my boyfriend I decided to drag him along with me to this one because he didn't want me to pay for garage parking downtown. Store salespeople told me that they were having items on sale just like the site. I've been looking for the Sephora Ergonomic brush set that's been on sale on the site for $29. I checked a week before at the big Valley Fair location they didn't have it or that much merchandise on sale. To my surprise they had several of the brush set on sale! The only downside to this particular store is that it's small so it doesn't carry that many brands. Sadly, I've noticed, NOT JUST with this store, but with all of the locations, I rarely get acknowledged by the staff on the floor. Sometimes I'd like their help with finding something or trying out a product that I can't apply with the q-tips or applicators, but the salespeople are either not to be found or have a look on their face that says "I don't want to help anyone ." Do I look like I don't want to spend any money?? Helloooo..look at my butt with my $170 pair of True Religions & my Ed Hardy hoodie! Oh girl I love this store and this particular location. Its a lot less crowded than Powell St. and still seems to have the same amount of stock. The girls here are helpful and can always recomend a new product for me to help with aging. They give out samples of anything for a test use- like sunscreen, foundation, perfume, etc. Sephora is always collaborating with Pantone for the hot new spring color. Last spring it was a gorgeous green. The spring before it was an orange. The colors are amazing and I love that the entire staff has to wear those colors for makeup because it lets me see how they look on an array of skin types and tones. Charity was rude in her approach and throughout our interaction. I have never been treated so poorly during any experience at a Sephora. She told me that I couldn't open the box to look at a product that I planned to purchase. There was not a sample of it out on the floor for me to look at and in order to confirm color, opening the box was my only option. I've had Sephora employees do this for me so I'm not sure why there was an issue this time. More than the message, the approach was unbecoming. Unfortunately, Christine was great and so helpful. Thank goodness for Sephora in Cow Hollow! How convenient it is for me to get my one-stop makeup shop on without stepping foot into crowded Union Square. Even if you don't live in the area, this place is worth a visit. It's located in a nice area, away from the tourists and unique characters that you'd find downtown. I never had a problem with their stock and they have a great selection. I don't need to shop through an extensive collection of makeup. Just show me the popular and new items. I am not able to visit a Sephora store in person often. When I do go, I purchase several products that I'm interested in trying with the reassurance that if a product doesn't work for me or in this case I'm allergic to it, I can return it during my next visit. The policy has been updated to no store credit past 60 days. I am frustrated because I only visit every couple of months and have received credit during past visits for products that didn't work for me. I understand if the products were obviously completely used, but they're almost brand new! To top that off when I told them I was allergic to this product and I don't have the chance to visit the shop often I was transferred to another employee as other associates continue to say NEXT, NEXT. You're just an easily replaceable, meaningless piece of cash. This product turned my eyes blood shot and caused painful irritation which luckily was resolved by flushing my eyes out with water and simply not using the product. What can I say we live in a capitalist society where if their product causes you to become blind they'll still turn a blind eye because they already got what they wanted, your money. Although I phoned before going to the shop and was that told that walk-ins would wait only 5 minutes for a complimentary 15-minutes consultation, I was told by a "manager" that no one could provide service for about ONE HOUR! I've been coming here since Sephora opened on Union street and have always had positive experiences. Today was not the case. I recently went to my dermatologist to do a patch test after a few years of bad skin reactions and itchiness. After I got my patch test done I found out I can only wear a limited amount of brands/specific makeup within them that don't contain my allergens. It's been rough but I'm trying my best to figure it all out. I came in today to switch my makeup, I was hoping for some quick help to get me matched and out the door as I had a work meeting in an hour and a half. A very young associate named Devin approached me and asked if I needed help. I said yes and asked if she could help color match me, she got out her camera app to take pics of my skin and then went to try to find the corresponding bare essentials shades. I then realized how new she was after she couldn't find the colors as they had updated them (not sure how recently) and the colors that she could find were out of testers. She asked me if the ones she pointed at would work and I said I don't know- and then said I like to look more tan than pale and usually go for neutrals- I pointed to one and she couldn't find a tester and had to get permission to open one. I asked her if there was a sanitized brush I could use to test and she said there were only sponges and lipstick applicators. Another associate came over to give her permission to open a tester and I asked her if I could sanitize the brush on display- thankfully she did (thank you whoever you are, you're my one star!) after this experience I asked Devin how long she had been working there and she said she was new working here for the summer. Me- being on a time limit- asked if there was someone with more experience/ability to open testers who could help me. She said most of her associates were the same level as her and that she would send arianna her manager over. I waited, and then a woman working the benefit section asked how I was doing and I said Ariana was coming over. Arianna was no where to be found.. Another young looking associate asked if I was ok and I told her I was waiting for Ariana. I finally had to go through the testers that were there to color match myself while I waited for her to hopefully come over. Yet Another young looking associate came over and asked if I needed help and I told them, after finding a tester that seemed to work, that I needed the color which wasn't out, they found it for me and a bronzer and then I went to look at the blush and finally a blonde woman who looked irritated came over and said hi do you still need help, in a very irritated tone. I said oh I was waiting for arianna or Adrianna manager to come over to help and she said I'm Arianna I'm one of the managers and then said "we've been sending people over to help but you keep saying you don't need any" confused and taken aback I explained the situation and said I didn't realize that was the case, as I had been waiting for her. then in an irritated tone she asked if I needed anymore help. After this awful experience I declined, bought what I found myself which was around $140and then quickly left, not getting the other items I needed because I had such an awful experience. I will not be coming back to this location and highly suggest customer service training for those on the floor as that was awful. I came in last week in workout clothes and did not get greeted by any of the 10+ employees on the floor. I saw a lot of other customers being greeted and getting help, but I guess they looked more "presentable" than me. It might also be because I was just wearing a loose-fitted shirt and leggings with somewhat messy hair from jogging. I hate to feel discriminated against by what I'm wearing or what I look like, and it sucks that this still happens! Esp at this Marina location. I know Sephora is actually going through diversity training now so it's sad that things like this continue to happen. You have paying customers regardless. The store location is a great place to shop ( lots of brand store and food right next to teach other. Yet parking is still difficult. As for the store, the inside is clear and the worker is super friendly. I went today for the limited edition of Louboutin nail polish and THEY HAVE IT!! They are the store with the fullest collection in SF and probably the only one in the bay that carries the Louboutin nail collection. I asked for a sample of a moisturizer (after spending hundreds on the same moisturizer a month ago...and, what did the woman want...?....my phone number to record she gave me one tiny sample. I was shocked. I asked why and she was so dismissive. I said are you keeping a record and then I won't be able to get samples in the future? I love how the employees here dress "en theme" in black on black on black. It's very chic. We dropped in to find some makeup in a hard-to-get color. One of the staff directed us to a boutique that had a wide variety, an unusual name, and an interesting concept. It was called "Urban Decay," and the special concept was: It's vegan. Yes. On a blistering hot 80 degree San Francisco spring day, my buddy and I decided to walk up and down Union St. and shop around. Our second top was Sephora! (bebe came first). WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOF!! That's the sound I made in my head as I entered and felt the icy cold AC. I knew I could shop now without having sweat beads drip down my forehead. I've been to plenty of Sephoras in the past but this one somewhat pales in comparsion. It's not as big, the different makeup sections seemed rather squished together, and there wasn't much walking space. I felt like I had to dodge people if not shelves of make-up. I got asked if I needed help about 10 times (no joke, I counted). Look - I know that it doesn't seem like I know what I'm looking at, but I DO. Don't assume, ladies. I'm just visiting from the other side of town. Some of us have embraced our curly hair and have dumped the straightener (a relationship I'm glad to have cut off). Some of us don't feel the need to wear a full face of makeup to a make up store or have accepted the fact that blond highlights are just never going to work with our coloring. Anyway, of course, me being me, the only conversation I did manage to have in here was with one of the salespeople on a perfume curiously called "Cannabis". This guy tried to tell me that it did smell like THC, and tried to talk to me about some special blend and blah blah stonercakes. I smelled it again - wasn't buying it. And trust me, I know what that shit smells like. Anyway, this Sephora rules because you do not have to deal with Union Square. Not as much stuff as bigger Sephoras, but you still have all your basics like Benefit, Urban Decay, Stila, Lancome, Philosophy, etc. It's a nice place to spend a shitload of money on stuff you can get way cheaper elsewhere just so you can say to yourself- I am worth expensive makeup & hair products. I've been to this Sephora location several times and each time the people on the floor have been dismissive (one salesperson made me wait until she finished her "project" of packaging gift bags until she was ready to help me - I dropped my potential purchases and left) and rude. This last time there I was looking for a product that appeared to be out of stock so I opened the drawer to look for the item and that's when I was approached by a salesperson saying, "We really can't have you in there. Can I help you with something?" Yeah...you can help me by stocking your shelf with the one product I keep coming in here for and yet you never seem to have. For Christmas, Matt received a nice amount gift certificate from Sephora. And he made use of it immediately, because he has a "hot" date with a "HOT" Miss Yelper. Matt went to the Union Street store, because the location has parking and closer from the crib. Looking around for a propose fragrance, Matt saw an aftershave gift-set from one of the most talented R & B singer in current time: Usher. Hey, if Usher can get all the girls, why not Matt? Considering he's happily married. Matt made that gamble and decided to purchase his scented cologne. The $60.00 spray-on fragrance was in a simple 1.8 oz. black bottle with a majestic-like cap. The cashier was very friendly, but made unflattering remarks to Matt and say, "Good Luck!" Talk about a mocking and sarcastic remark, her compliments motivates Matt to look like a pimp-like Asian gangsta. After the shower, Matt played one of Usher's greatest songs on his I-Pod, and sprayed a decent amount of his newest scent all over his big body. He left the house and got into his family-van and played another one of his greatest song and sang Karaoke-style: "It's seven o' clock, on the dot, I'm in my drop top, Cruisin the streets I gotta real pretty - pretty little "Yelper" that's waiting for me!" Some of the workers are really nice.... but this one girl was just totally condescending. I asked her about the dip brow and she was demonstrating it to me. Now I'm in the middle of reshaping my eyebrows with my eyebrow lady but this girl just had the most disgusted look on her face and asked me who did my eyebrows and telling me that I need to pluck under them not over them (which I already knew and don't do) and to let them grow on the sides (which I already discussed with my eyebrow lady) and that my arch shouldn't be so high... Tell me why when she finished she made that shit hellllllllllllllla higher than I normally do! When I said I put an arch to my brows I didn't mean that I was going for a replica of the worlds tallest water slide! Not only was she being stuck up and rude to me the whole time but she filled them in worse than I do. I really wish I took a picture of how she did them vs how I do them. Whenever I'm down and feeling stressed out with school, Sephora always always lifts my spirits. There something about being in a store surrounded by make up, nail polish, skin products, and perfume that makes a girl very happy. Everything is so organized by brand and color. They carry a broad range of products. Lots of popular foreign products that are popular all around the world but hasn't made it big in America yet. Which you wouldn't be able to find at your local Macy's. Outside of MAC, I never buy my make up anywhere else. I'm picky when it comes to make up and I think everyone should be. Buy quality make up since its going on your face. And Sephora carries mostly good brands, that you wouldn't be able to find anywhere else. I love coming here, the people here are so helpful and patient. I once needed a new foundation, and the sales girl spent 30 mins with me going through all the foundation in the store, matching me up with the right color foundation.
